Izuna was following minato to the hokage's office. When Minato sensed Izuna's chakra and caught him following him. Izuna was told to return home. When Izuna got home he ran to his room and started getting his training equipment and snuck out. Izuna reached training ground 3 where he would train with Fugaku for an hour as usual. A few days had passed when Minato returned home from his mission.
That very day Fugaku couldn't train with Izuna due to a meeting being held for Uchiha only. Izuna went to the park and bought some takoyaki.

Izuna noticed Sakumo Hatake the white fang of the leaf and realized he was deciding on killing himself. Izuna bought another takoyaki and walked up to Sakumo asking
"Hey mister. Are you the the white fang if the leaf?" while offering a takoyaki.
" Yes, why do you ask, child?"
"I just wanted to thank you for saving my life 4 years ago."
" It's no problem. Just doing my job." Sakumo said with a small smile
" Can you please be my kenjutsu sensei?" Asked Izuna
" Alright. What's your name?" Said Sakumo
" Izuna. My name is Izuna Uzumaki. Dattebayo"
