The three spiders rushed towards Kage with two of them climbing the walls to the left and right of Kage.
"Ok new shadow, show me what you got." Kage said.
The shadow underneath his feet moved. It moved onto the right wall and slithered its way towards the spiders as while it was still attached to Kage. Once the shadow was close enough it blinked its way through the shadows of the three spiders and appeared on the left wall. The shadow then lifted both arms to reveal that in the place where the palms were supposed to be it was just long and pointed, at the same time the spiders all split in half.
Kage was a little surprised at his new shadow. He went over to inspect the bodies of the spiders as he realized that their shadows were gone. He also realized that instead of losing essence he gained a very small amount of it instead. He then gathered the three origin cores. He then decided to check his system to see which dungeon he was in.
[Grade 3 dungeon (Spiden cave)]
[A small dungeon containing multiple High and Advanced grade spires called spiden. The Spidens have a unique attribute that allows them to produce very powerful toxic webs that causes any creature it comes in contact with to start losing essence. If encased in the web, the creature loses its ability to fight and slowly desolves into essence for the spires to consume. They grow stronger the more essence they consume.]
Kage read the information provided about the dungeon before deciding to venture deeper. He walked for a few minutes before coming across a problem. A few meters in front of him he could see the corredor split into three, one going to the left, one to the right and another directly in front of him.
He thought about it for a while. He hadn't been to this dungeon before and didn't know its layout so he couldn't rush the decision. Finally he decided to go right. Before he did he tried to summon the three spiders he killed earlier but realized that he only had enough spare shadow for one lest he gave up his shadow. He was very confused at this. Since when did he gain less shadow from killing a being. He decided to find out the cause later as he sent the spider to the left corredor and he went right.
As he walked for a few minutes he ran into another group of three spiden. His shadow quickly took them out. Not wanting to lose this opportunity he paid attention to his essence and realized what caused the lack of shadow. All three spiden shadows combined into one after their death. A portion of it went to his essence storage, another portion went into his shadow itself and the final potion went into his shadow storage which stored the shadows of beings that he was able to capture after their death.
He walked for a few more minutes before reaching another problematic area. This time there were five short paths in front of him leading to five rooms. The paths were to the left, right, diagonally left, diagonally right and directly in front of him. Kage decided to systematically clear the dungeon starting from the room to the right but would save the room in the middle for last as it seemed to be the biggest of this branch.
As he was about to start walking he felt his shadow spiden he had sent to the other branch under attack and quickly withdrew it. He wasn't going to lose any more shadows as they had suddenly became a scarce resource.
He walked into the small room to the right only to meet ten sleeping spidens on the ceiling. Unlike the corredor, the rooms were covered almost completely with toxic webs. Kage could only guess that these spiden went out to gather essence before coming home to sacrifice some of it to the spiden in the deeper chambers meaning these guys were just weak because they didn't have all their essence. Before he could make his move all ten spiden woke up after sensing the presence of an intruder.
Kage's shadow moved at lightning speeds in the dark and killed two spiden before they could come down while the others descended on him.
Kage walked out of the room feeling some of his power return to him. He had gained three more spiden shadows from that room alone which brought his count to five. It was nothing compared to the hundreds of gremlins, his plethora of spires and his three secret weapons of his previous shadow. He thought about shrill spore. He then started thinking about the other two. He would have to do without those three.
He entered room number two to meet the same sight as the room before which was ten spiden sleeping on the ceiling with the web absorbing their essence. Again they woke up once sensing the intruder and tried to attack him. Kage wanted to feel the same as he used to feel when clearing dungeons so he summoned his five spiden shadows to fight with him.
What made the spiden powerful wasn't just their toxic webs but also their eight legs which were as sharp as they come. The Battle lasted a little longer but he cleared the room and got his spiden shadows to eight. He walked out feeling weird and asked his shadow to not split the shadows into three portions anymore. He had more essence than he could use and with no shadow to control with he just asked for his essence portion to go to shadow storage.
He entered the first room on the left and made a stupid decision to let his shadows fight alone which resulted in three of them dying bringing his number to ten. He then easily cleared the second room on the left bringing his count to fifteen. He now stood in front of the biggest room of this branch ready to get a powerful shadow added to his newfound army.
