Rustle...
The sound of something approaching could be heard from the forest around them as they both got onto their feet and prepared for an attack.
As the sound came closer and closer the duo got nervous. Then they saw Kage a little further away as he walked towards them. They then calmed down as they realized it was Kage making that sound.
Kage got to his two students and gestured for them to follow him as he started moving. Alsvid and Jason both followed as fast as they could which wasn't much. In the end Kage slowed down and let them catch up to him so they didn't get lost.
As they kept moving they eventually came to the edge of the forest. They didn't immediately walk out of the forest but stayed hidden and observed for a while before Kage walked out with the other two following behind.
At the edge of the forest was more grasslands as far as the eye could see. Kage kept walking as the other two followed him.
They crossed the grasslands slowly. They were barely faster than a crawl but they persisted. After a few hours of walking both Alsvid and Jason's stomachs started rumbling.

The two of them were very hungry and there was absolutely no food anywhere around them.
"Kage, can we stop somewhere and eat." Alsvid asked.
"No, we have to keep moving. Just channel your essence through your entire body continuously to keep moving. For as long as you have essence if you keep it up you will need neither food nor water for a very long time. We can't afford to stop now so just use that method." Kage replied.
The two students tried it but it didn't work. They kept trying and still kept failing. Then after their stomach rumbled for the unknown time Kage got fed up.
He turned around and slammed both his arms into the chests of both Alsvid and Jason before he continued walking.
The duo were expecting to feel pain but instead they felt nothing. No chest pain, no hunger, they felt nothing.
"If you keep essence channelled through your entire body, your body fills up its cells with pure essence which keeps it alive. The downside is if you run out of essence you will most definitely die. Right now your body is using my essence as fuel. If you don't learn how to continuously channel your essence through your entire body, you will starve and I won't help you next time. Now let's keep moving." Kage said.
They kept moving for another hour before the sound of someone's stomach rumbled. Kage kept walking as if he hadn't heard it.
Grrrrr....
Jason clenched his stomach in agony as he dropped to the floor while Alsvid suppressed his fall. Kage just kept walking as Jason passed out.
Alsvid checked up on Jason only to realize he had ran out of essence. He wasn't dead but he had passed out from hunger pain.
"As I said, it's not a permanent solution, you can't recharge your essence when using this technique." Kage said.
"You could have told us that earlier you know?" Alsvid said.
Kage kept walking.
Alsvid sat down next to Jason's unconscious body and refused to follow. Kage turned around upon realizing they weren't following.
"What are you doing, we need to keep moving, you can throw your tantrum later." Kage said.
"No, we are resting here and now, I won't move from this spot until Jason wakes up." Alsvid replied.
Kage walked over and touched Jason's head. He channelled a bit of energy into it as Jason's eyes slowly opened.
"He's awake, now let's move." Kage said.
Alsvid stood up and helped Jason slowly onto his feet. Then,
BOOM!!!
Kage tried to rush to his students' side but was flung back by a huge force. Alsvid and Jason were also pushed further away from Kage as their hearts sank.
A large red beam descended from the sky as three beings emerged from it.
A very dark four limbed creature with absolutely no decernable features other than the fact that it looked like a humanoid creature on all fours.
A black cloak made of shadows which surrounded a humanoid shadow wielding a scythe.
A large blob of flesh oozing an endless amount of blood from all over.
The Ravagers had found them and they did not look happy.
Shadow reaper wasted no time and flew towards Kage while simultaneously swinging his scythe at him. Kage pulled out his sword just in time to block the swing and at the same time his shadow swung its sharp pointed arms at it causing shadow reaper to lose an arm but it quickly grew back and he put more force into the scythe.
Alsvid tried to move in front of Jason to try and protect him but as soon as he took a step forward Nyxarios appeared in front of him and grabbed his face slamming it into the ground before dragging him across and throwing him away.
Jason was left speechless as Belfyre approached him. He was completely out of essence and couldn't do anything to stop the creature's advance.
Suddenly, multiple pitch black orbs flew on top of Belfyre and fused into a large orb before exploding.
Boom...
The area was covered in dust and the force of the explosion pushed Jason to the ground. Alsvid could be seen running to Jason in the distance but his path was quickly blocked by Nyxarios.
Swoosh...
Clank...
Clank...
Boom...
In the distance Kage could be seen battling Shadow reaper with everything he had as he even had his newly created cloak on with an origin core socketed into his sword. They clashed with immense power as Shadow reaper put immense amounts of pressure on Kage who couldn't take his eyes of it for one second.
Belfyre slithered out of the dust and smoke to reveal a blood shield around it as the immense amounts of blood it was oozing from its body started moving.
