Having completed his goal Jason lost consciousness as his skill started disappearing. The skill could kill anyone he intended to kill if given a little time but he didn't want to accidentally kill both Alsvid and Kage.
The bird was completely vaporized by the blood strike as it dropped Kage from the sky. Nyxarios lost one of its hands as Alsvid fell onto the forest floor. This entire time he had been trying to create the perfect skill and luckily for him, he managed to complete the skill before being released.
Large amounts of essence started escaping Alsvid in large quantities. The essence quickly spread out over a large area. A large black circle marked the borderline of the skills area limit. Then suddenly, the environment within the circle changed. Everything became grey and lifeless. The air became chaotic. The air was filled with a large amount of Alsvid's essence to the point where it turned black and was physically draining the life of all nearby beings within the circle.
Kage had recovered from his large fall to something he wasn't expecting. The entire area was grey, colourless and lifeless. All trees had lost their leaves. The air was turning any and everything that either didn't contain or ran out of life into literal dust. He couldn't even breath because he realized that with every passing breath he was losing essence. In the five seconds that this strange phenomena took place all the trees had grown lifeless in the area with everything else turning to black dust.
After five seconds, Alsvid's new skill abruptly stopped as he fell onto his knees. He had just wasted all his essence just to keep this skill active for five seconds. The results however were great as the ravagers seemed disoriented and still trying to recover. As an added bonus, all three ravagers had reverted back to their previous forms when they first met the group. Since the ravagers were using essence as their life force and as their way to regain their true forms losing essence in such large amounts was crippling.
With the Ravagers disoriented, Kage connected to the little shadow all the dead trees produced and impaled all Ravagers in place with large shadow spikes then went clean through their bodies, both holding them in place and leaving an injury that couldn't be healed without the skills cancelation. Kage then ran towards the downed students. His shadow was still in its recovery phase so he had to rely on the shadow of his students.
Getting to Alsvid first he connected with his shadow and caused it to swallow them both. The shadow then formed a small blip which moved to join with Jason's shadow as he was also swallowed by his shadow and added into the blip as it moved towards the forest at a high speed.
Shadow reaper recovered the fastest by disconnecting Kage to the shadows that were impaling it and then taking control of them. It had reverted back to nothing more than a cloak and needed time to even recreat its scythe. All it could do was watch as the shadow blip moved via connecting to the shadows of the dead trees. Shadow reaper had tried to stop them with just shadow control but without its scythe all it could do was move the shadows away from the blip to make it visible. The blip was a small but highly condensed cluster of shadows and it just kept getting more condensed with every shadow it made contact with. Eventually shadow reaper was not able to control it and had instead chosen to absorb all the shadows nearby as it just watched the blip finally make it to the forest and disappear among the cacophony of shadows in the forest.
A spectacular area was created that could be seen for miles on end. In a random part of the large forest if one searched hard enough they would find a desolate area. This part of the forest was a very large area made up of dead trees and nothing more. The area lacked multiple concepts such as colour, life and the dead trees themselves lacked shadows. It was a spectacular sight to behold. A spectacular sight indeed.
Kage had been moving for a while at his usual high speed with the shadow blip while still using the shadows of the trees as cover. Since the blip itself was basically unnoticable and was now blending with the shadows Kage was sure the Ravagers couldn't find them. Not to mention the fact that they had weakened the Ravagers and were way too far out to be spotted by them but the fact that the Ravagers knew where they were to begin with which was the cause of this entire mess, Kage wasn't willing to take the chance.
Kage could not actually see using the blip. Instead what he did was he was constantly sending out shadow signals. Sort of like undetectable sound waves. When the signal comes in contact with a shadow, the outline is sent back to Kage who is able to then gain a rough idea of what the terrain is like and right now, Kage had decided it was time to return from wherever he came from originally.
