Zander's POV
Seeing how terrified this little girl appeared made me grin. She wanted me to kill her not long ago, but now that I am standing in front of her, she is crying.
.Yesterday, I wanted to kill her at that exact spot, but something kept me from doing it. There was something about her that made me want to spare her life rather than kill her.
But I knew better than to spare her; she was not an ordinary girl, that much was certain, but I had no idea what she was. And after I instructed my men to look up information on her.
I recently found out something fascinating: her father was none other than Robert Davis. We were both involved in the presidential election, and I knew that if I married his illegitimate daughter, he would have to resign in order to preserve his reputation, and I would take over as both the president and the new mafia don. It felt like a double-edged sword.
"Let us go."Her emerald eyes glared at me fiercely and fearfully as I said. She resembled a rogue feline. I have no idea why her actions amuse me.
"Are you taking me to see those lions?"She inquired, her whole body still shaking, and I could hear her heartbeat rushing against her ribcage. I choose to ignore her. She talks so much that I am really out of energy to listen to her snide remarks.
"Stupid man, you have so much pride and are so conceited. You want everyone to fear you because you are some terrible monsters, right?" She asked, trailing behind me, but I ignored her.
"I am sure no one likes you, which is why you keep lions as pets; you are insane, and you need help. I mean, who kidnaps an innocent girl like me and forces her to spend the night with lions? I am really going to make you pay for this."She continued bubluring behind me.
We got to the cab, and I opened the door for her. She went in, and I sat next to her. After closing the door, the driver started the automobile.
"I was caught again because of you idiot driver!! I am cursing you right now; I wish you ten years of terrible luck, and I wish your lips remained closed like it does when I enter this automobile." She muttered it in an irritated tone, leaned her head on the vehicle seat, and stepped away from me, leaving a large distance.
She fell asleep in less than a minute, perhaps exhausted from running all night.
The taxi driver came to a stop, and as he got out, he opened the door on my side and I saw him grimace. His lips were closed, yet it appeared like he was attempting to utter something.
What happened to him now? He was not only my cab driver, but also my bodyguard. I was the one who dispatched him in case the girl attempted to flee.
"What are you saying? Can you not open your lips and speak whatever you want?"I inquired, and he moved back to the front seat, pulled out a piece of paper and a pen, and scribbled something on it; I frowned when he handed me the paper.
'SIR, I Can not SPEAK; I am TRYING TO OPEN MY MOUTH BUT NOTHING COMES OUT.' My eyes grew wide as I read what was written on the page.
How is that possible? My mouth dropped open as I remembered what this girl had said. She said she was cursing him for 10 years of ill luck and that his mouth would be shut for the rest of his life. Who exactly was this girl? I knew when I saw her yesterday that she was not an ordinary girl.
"Take us to the main mansion!"I said, and the driver walked back to the car and drove away. My head was suddenly filled with many questions. Who was this girl? Who exactly was she? Her curse came true directly in front of my eyes; this guard was from the underworld, and he was a vampire, so how did her curse affect him?
In less than an hour, the gate to the main mansion was opened as the driver drove through the gate, he stopped the car a few steps away from the mansion and before I could wake her up, her eyes opened. She stepped out of the car, I followed her.
"The gate of hell has opened and you have officially entered the hell you were afraid of," I said, tears welled up in her eyes again as she stepped out of the car. I didn't understand her at all; one moment she was fierce like a wild cat and the next she was crying like a helpless woman.
"Please let me go! I don't want to stay here, I want to go home," she begged, tears welling up in her eyes once more.
"You are not going anywhere. Now, listen to me. If you dare reveal my identity to anyone inside the house, I'm going to cut off your head and feed it to my lions. Understand?" I asked sternly, glaring at her. She flinched back, nodding her head.
"Wipe your tears and smile. Everyone should believe that you and I have been dating for a long time, understand?" I was instructed. She nodded and wiped her tears, flashing a fake smile.
"I will get you for this. You are scaring me and making me cry like a small baby," she said, more tears streaming down her face. I shook my head in disbelief. This woman was crazy, that was the only logical explanation I had at the moment.
"Stop crying right now before I kill you. I said, sternly glaring at her. She quickly wiped her tears and forced a smile.
"Are you happy now?" she asked sarcastically.
"Very happy. Come on," I grabbed her hand and started leading her inside with me.
Everyone was already at the table having breakfast. My mom quickly rose from her seat and walked towards us with her fake smile. I rolled my eyes; she was so fake.
"Welcome home, son. Is she our bride?" she asked with a smile, but I ignored her completely. She turned her attention to the girl beside me.
"Welcome to our house, my dear. You are not in our class, but you are not bad either. You are so lucky to be getting married to my son," my mom said, the girl beside me scoffed but said nothing.
"Take her upstairs and lock her in the room. If she dares to escape from here, you all must know that hell will break loose," I commanded sternly.
"I'm not feeling lucky at all," the girl next to me said through gritted teeth, causing my mother to look at her.
"What did you say?" she asked, glaring at the girl beside me. She rolled her eyes.
"Exactly what you heard!" she replied, her tone filled with annoyance.
"Zander, where did you get such an uncivilised girl from? You see how rude she is? You definitely can't marry a girl like her; she doesn't belong here," my mom said.
"That's not your decision to make. Take her upstairs quietly and mind your own business. I don't think that's too much to ask, is it?" I asked, glaring at her. She kept quiet.
"Come on, let's go," my mother said to the girl beside me.
"I'm not going anywhere!" the girl said as she stood her ground.
Without saying anything, I grabbed her hand and started dragging her upstairs.
"Leave my hand, I don't want to stay here!" the girl yelled, trying to free her hand from mine, but I didn't budge.
"Leave my hand, I want to go home. I don't want to stay here!" she yelled. We reached my room upstairs, and I pushed her inside before locking the door from the outside.
"Open the door, you stupid man! You can't keep me here forever!" she yelled, banging on the door, but I walked back downstairs without listening to her.
"I want each and every one of you to make sure that this girl doesn't leave here today. The wedding will happen tonight at 8 pm, so make all the preparations," I said, and all eyes turned to me.
"Zander, this girl doesn't look like she wants to get married to you. Why are you forcing her?" Jane asked, her tone filled with bitterness. She was my step-cousin who was desperate to be with me, but I had no interest in her.
"I agree, I think she's right," my step-aunt said. "You can't force a girl into marriage if she doesn't want to. I won't sit back and watch you ruin my brother's reputation, Zander."
"Brother, she's not worth it. Let her go," my step-sister Rachel added.
"Brother, I think this girl is your perfect match. You two make a great pair," Edwin said sarcastically.
I ignored their comments and made it clear that the wedding would proceed as planned. I left with Edwin to handle the preparations, leaving behind their opinions.
"Brother, we have captured the man who was spying on us; evidently it was Robert Davis who brought him here; happily, he has not spoken anything to him about us yet, but he still has all the material on his laptop, and if Robert finds it, we are done."Edwin explained,
I let out the smoke from the cigarettes I was smoking before dumping them on the ground and walking on them.
"Where is he?"I asked gently. Robert Davis thought he was brilliant, but he was just another airhead who could not do anything correctly.
"I kept him at the farmhouse yesterday, but we need to get that laptop at whatever cost."Edwin spoke, and I nodded.
"Let us go to the farmhouse."I said, getting inside the bike, I led the way.
We arrived to the farmhouse in less than an hour, and I got off my bike. I took off my helmet and headed into the torture chamber.
I noticed a man seated in the middle of the room, with his wrists tied behind him on the chair and his legs likewise bound. The room was full of armed guys.
"Where is the laptop you imbecile? "I questioned, staring at him, and he grinned.
"You may murder me for all I care, but you will not get the laptop." The man said I clamped my teeth hard; this man was taxing my patience, which I lacked.
Silently, I pulled my gun from my belt and gave him a hard shake on the head, shooting him so many times that his lifeless corpse hung there.
"Clear this mess, and before the election starts, I want you all to find that laptop at all costs, or else you are all going to end up dead."I said sternly, turning my attention to Edwin.
"I want you to invite Robert Davis and his family to the wedding, and make sure the media is also present."I informed him and left the little room.
My phone rang just as I was about to hop on my bike. It was a landline phone from home. This implies that it was from home.
"Tell me," I said.
"That girl has escaped; I am not sure how, but she is not in the room."Jane said on the phone, so I immediately disconnected and placed it in my pocket. How does that girl continually find a way to escape? I have no idea where to locate her. I got inside my bike and drove away.
