"Who wants to go out with us?" Glenn asks them.
They all gathered in the living room, discussing the plan to go out and gather supplies to survive.
"Me!" Carlo quickly volunteered, raising his hand.
Bianca was surprised by her boyfriend's volunteering. She tightly held Carlo's hand and tried to pull it down.
"Shut up, Baby! You don't know what you're saying!" Bianca urged her boyfriend softly but firmly.
She didn't want him to go out because it was dangerous, and there was no certainty whether their families were still alive or if they only had each other left.
"I know, Baby. Please. I want to be useful so you can be proud of me," Carlo pleaded with Bianca.
Deiji rolled her eyes at the apparent corniness of the couple.
"I'm already proud of you. Please, stay with me. You don't have to do this, Baby," Bianca begged, tears welling up in her eyes as she tried to persuade Carlo not to go out and leave her.
"I need to do this. They also need me. I'm doing this for you, okay?" Carlo persisted, refusing to give in, and it seemed like Bianca was the one who gave in.
Carlo touched Bianca's face with both palms and kissed her on the forehead. Everyone was amazed by Carlo's sweetness. They all smiled, knowing they still trusted and loved each other despite the difficult situation they were in. Except for Deiji, who sensed something behind the scenes.
"Anyone?" Glenn asked again, as they finalized that Carlo would be coming with them.
"Me too!" Michael raised his hand and looked at his group with an innocent expression.
"Michael!" Michelle shouted his name, with a hint of threat in her tone.
"Don't stop me!" Michael shouted back at his twin.
"I supported you, so you should support me too," he continued, trying to make his twin feel guilty and not restrain or stop him from what he wanted to do. He succeeded, and Michelle's only response was a glare and a silent sigh of resignation. But she also saw from Michael's eyes and felt from his emotions that he was sad and worried, so she hugged him, which made Michelle cry.
"Me, Noah, Deiji, Carlo, and Michel. So the five of us. All of you have to stay here quietly, okay? Dexter and Christ will stay here with you girls," Glenn explained to them, and they all nodded in agreement.
"Yey! Let's all die together," Noah sarcastically exclaimed, raising both of his hands. Until now, he was still annoyed because Deiji planned to go out without any plan, and their group had no plan.
"First, where are we going? Is there a convenience store, mall, or drug store near here?" Glenn asked Noah.
"For what?" Noah replied disinterestedly, seemingly uninterested.
"Of course, we need to know the route so we can go safely," Deiji answered for him instead.
He thought they would go out without any plan, but he realized he was really overreacting.
"Well, I don't know. I'm not from here," he calmly replied, then looked at Daisy, the owner of the house they were staying in. Everyone looked at Daisy, so she scratched her head.
"There's a convenience store nearby. Just two blocks away. When you leave the house, you only have to keep right. Then, you'll see the Kitmart," Daisy explained in detail, which was immediately understood by the five.
"List down what you need. Besides what we're getting, we'll also get what you need. We'll leave soon," Noah suggested.
Everyone nodded and hurried upstairs to look for paper and a pen.
"I have one. Let's write everything down on one list so we won't be separated," Daisy suggested, and the others eagerly followed her.
Deiji also went upstairs to look for a hair tie. Daisy is a girl, so Deiji thought there might be a hair tie somewhere in her room. She wanted to tie her hair because it was bothering her during this time.
She wasn't wrong, and she found a hair tie that she immediately used to tie her long hair, leaving only her bangs.
She saw a terrace, so she decided to go there to breathe in the fresh air from outside.
"There you are. I've been looking for you," she was startled when Noah suddenly appeared beside her.
"Why?" She glanced at Noah for a second then quickly looked away, pretending to be interested in the outside.
"Are you serious about going?" Noah asked her. This time, she faced Noah and raised her eyebrows.
"What's your deal, Noah?" She asked him irritably. She's also referring to their past.
"What? I am not allowed to worry about you?" Noah insisted.
"Yes. You did the same thing before, didn't you? You were kind, sweet. Then suddenly, you vanished like smoke. You told me you would wait for me until I graduated college and support me in my dreams of success. But I never saw you again after we graduated junior high school. You are such a liar and a backstabber!"
"That's what made you angry? Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel that way."
"You know what I've been through. But you suddenly disappeared. No warning, no goodbye. You were the only one I leaned on and vented about my family to. But you took advantage of me. You made me fall in love with you and then suddenly disappeared," Deiji expressed her anger and frustration with every word she uttered. It felt good to let go of the pent-up resentment she had been carrying for so long.
She glared at Noah when she heard him laugh instead of comforting her after what she said to him.
"What? Why are you laughing?"
"I just can't take it." Noah closed his mouth using his fingers as if he were shocked.
"You are too honest, Deiji." He continued.
"What?" Deiji asked Noah irritably.
"Okay, sorry. I would like to say sorry. I know I've been a jerk for laughing at you," Noah laughed again, seemingly trying to provoke Deiji.
"I have some family problems overseas, and I didn't have a choice but to go there." Suddenly, his expression became serious. He remembered what happened to his father. His mom and dad had a fight, and his mother tried to kill his father by pushing him down the stairs.
"I didn't want to part ways with you. But I was just 16 years old back then, so I didn't have a choice. I tried to find you on any social media that I knew, but I couldn't find you," he explained to Deiji sadly. He remembered every day he left the Philippines and how desperate he was to find Deiji.
"I don't have social media accounts," Deiji replied simply, which was the reason why Noah couldn't find her.
"Right!" He awkwardly faced outside and looked away.
"I looked for you when I came back to the Philippines. Your mother told me you ran away. I couldn't find you, and you were just here."
"Why are you here, by the way?" Deiji asked Noah again, remembering that Noah didn't answer her question earlier.
"Huh?" Noah seemed lost and panicked. He didn't know what excuse to make. Everything was going smoothly between them, and then he got caught again.
