Noah and Glenn quickly took off their clothes to cover Deiji. Noah held Deiji in his arms while gently trying to wake her up.
Noah glanced around to look for Carlo, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
"Deiji... Deiji..." Noah's voice trembled as tears slowly streamed down his cheeks while he gently tapped Deiji's cheeks.
She was sleeping deeply now, covered in wounds and bruises all over her body. Noah thought about what Deiji had been through, feeling immense pity for her current condition.
Glenn looked away, his hand covering his face as he struggled to control himself. For the second time, he had failed to protect someone he treated like a sister.
Deiji was too exhausted to wake up from her deep slumber. So Noah slowly put his clothes on Deiji and wrapped Glenn's clothes around her lower body. Glenn kept his eyes averted out of respect for Deiji. He let Noah cover her because he could feel Noah's deep emotions for the girl.
Noah hugged Deiji tightly to protect her when suddenly a loud explosion was heard from outside. Glenn quickly rushed out to check and saw a nearby car engulfed in flames.
"Noah..." Glenn didn't know what to say to Noah because of what happened.
"I know..." Noah said quietly, carefully lifting Deiji, but quickly taking action.
Glenn went out first, and his heart raced when he saw a swarm of zombies approaching their location. Noah doubled his speed to prevent the zombies from reaching them.
"Run!" Glenn shouted loudly at Roy and Michael, who were now full of wonder and questions in their eyes.
Roy and Michael saw Noah and Glenn with a horde of zombies chasing them. They panicked and pushed their pushcart as fast as they could.
Michael saw Noah running with Deiji's unconscious body. He noticed that Carlo was not with them.
Glenn held a plywood to create a barrier, but it was slowly being destroyed by the number of zombies. When Glenn saw that Noah was getting farther away, he let go of the plywood and ran as fast as he could. He struggled to run because of the two bags he was carrying, one on his back and two that he assumed belonged to Carlo and Deiji.
"Gate!" Roy and Michael shouted from afar, but they were still far from their destination.
Due to their shouting, they attracted zombies near the house they were heading to.
More companions came out of the house to help them.
Glenn and Noah were greeted by their companions, which made them breathe a sigh of relief.
"Where's Deiji?" Yuki asked, causing them to look back.
Noah was panting heavily as he ran, still carrying Deiji, while Glenn was killing zombies approaching them.
"Look out!" Glenn shouted at them, but it was too late.
Michael was bitten. Everyone screamed in fear when Michael fell to the ground.
Everyone immediately helped lift and bring Michael inside while Roy and Christ cleaned up the zombies in front of the house for Noah and Glenn. When Noah and Glenn successfully reached the house, Roy and Christ entered the house too and secured the gate.
Despite being exhausted, Noah insisted on bringing Deiji inside the house and carefully laid her down on the couch.
"Michael!" They all looked at Michelle, who was now terrified and crying because of Michael's condition.
The girls worked together to stop the bleeding from Michael's shoulder.
"Michael, please..." Michelle pleaded with her twin brother when she saw Michael slowly losing consciousness.
"Where's Carlo?" Bianca asked, her voice trembling with fear when she noticed that her boyfriend hadn't returned with them.
Noah and Glenn avoided her gaze. Roy shrugged his shoulders, indicating that he didn't know where Carlo was.
"Where's Carlo!" Bianca's voice rose in panic.
"We don't know." Glenn's reply was short and flat.
"How can you not know? You were together!" Bianca's tone was accusatory, causing Noah to stand up.
"Your boyfriend? He left you. Looks like he just got what he wants, so he already ditched you for being useless," Noah replied sharply to Bianca's taunting.
Everyone was scared when they saw the anger in Noah's eyes and his harsh words towards Bianca.
"Glenn, what happened?" Yuki asked him calmly.
"We split into two groups. I ordered Carlo and Deiji to go to the drugstore to get what they need while we're getting food..." Glenn started, his head down as he recalled what happened to Deiji because of his decision. Everyone was silent, waiting for what would come next.
"After we gathered food, we wondered why they hadn't returned yet, so Noah and I decided to look for them and..." Noah stopped and started crying when he remembered what happened to Deiji.
"We saw Deiji... Unconscious... and... and... naked." He burst into tears, remembering what happened to Deiji because of his decision.
Everyone was shocked by what they heard. They didn't know what to say. It seemed like they were groping for the right words to say.
"She was raped..." Noah looked at Bianca, who was now in a state of shock as she looked at Deiji.
"She was raped!" He shouted, causing Bianca to collapse and lose consciousness.
