When Yamikuro opened his eyes after being passed out for a while, he didn't recognize where he was.
After a little bit, he remembered everything that had just happened and he rushed to get up from the ground.
This time he didn't feel the weakness he's always felt when using the darkness' powers.
He tried to look for Bernardo but in front of him was a massive crater that was caused by Sphairos combining all of his orbs together.
As he was running towards the crater, it started to massively pour out of nowhere. There was no sign of Bernardo nor Sphairos being anywhere near the crater.
Yamikuro sat at the edge of the crater and stared at it with an empty look in his eyes and soon after he started crying. Everyone he's cared about recently has died.
"Why me? Why did it have to be me?!" He yelled with an angry look on his face.
He was completely soaked but he didn't care, he kept crying and letting out his frustration of not being able to protect Bernardo by yelling out that he doesn't want to have these powers. Even if he wanted to find cover from the rain, he couldn't. The trees that had once covered this garden were gone along with the house.
After crying for a while he looked up and noticed a group of people walking towards him from the forest that was a few kilometers away.
As they made their way towards Yamikuro, who was getting up after sitting at the edge of the crater, one of them yelled: "Kid! Surrender now, this doesn't need to get any more complicated!"
Yamikuro's eyes widened. Looking at them slowing down their pace as the four people behind the person who yelled at him put their right arm in front of them while holding it up with their left hand.
The person at the front repeated: "Surrender now! We don't need to fight!"
When they were close enough to Yamikuro, he noticed that they were wearing full body suits. It reminded him of a hazmat suit but with a few technical upgrades.
The rain had stopped and Yamikuro's eyes started glowing purple. When one of them noticed it, they yelled: "Shoot!"
The four people who held their arm in front of them shot missiles out of their hand. Yamikuro noticed it and instead of fighting he decided to run.
With his heart racing he ran to the wheat farm where he came through the night before. He was breathing heavily after running out of genuine fear for his life when seeing missiles being shot at him.
After thinking who they could've been he came to a conclusion that they could've been with the government. Yesterday, the policeman mentioned the government being after Yamikuro and these people just now didn't seem like gods nor like the average police.
The five people who chased after Yamikuro caught up to him and instead of running inside the wheat farm like he expected they put their arms in front of them again but instead of shooting missiles fire came out of them. The fire was burning away the wheat that was growing and when the fire was getting close to him, he decided to run out of it onto the highway.
"Give it up, you have nowhere to run," one of them said.
Yamikuro stood at the other side of the highway staring at them while trying to get his darkness powers to activate but he couldn't. No matter how hard he tried he just wasn't able to do it.
One of them put their hand in front of them again and when Yamikuro noticed it, he jumped to the other wheat farm behind him.
"Don't let him get away!" One of them yelled.
Yamikuro was running as fast as he could through the crops but it was slowing him down a lot. When all five of them arrived at the other side of the highway that was slightly elevated above the wheat farm they noticed Yamikuro running through it.
"Use all of your missiles if you have to. We can't let him get away no matter what."
Yamikuro caught a glimpse of what was happening behind him and he noticed missiles being fired at him. The missiles kept flying around him with none of them hitting him.
Yamikuro managed to run to enough distance in which it was almost impossible to hit him from the highway.
"We have to call an elite hunter to deal with him," one of them said.
"No!" The other one responded, "We can deal with him, we just have to go after him."
When Yamikuro ran to the other side of the wheat farm, he sat down from exhaustion and took some time off to restore his breath. He looked towards the cloudy sky and tried to get his darkness powers back.
After taking some time off, he got back up just in time for these people to catch up to him. One of them sprinted out of the wheat farm and yelled: "I found him! He's here!"
"Who are you?!" Yamikuro asked while yelling so all of them could hear it.
"We're hunters sent to chase you down," one of them responded.
"Hunters?" Yamikuro thought to himself.
While thinking, the hunter in front of him fired another missile. Yamikuro looked up and noticed a missile a few meters away from his face and he quickly crouched down.
He then started running towards the hunter who fired the missile and punched their face cover. Inside of that suit was a man whom he had just killed.
"Why does the government want to kill me like this?!" Yamikuro asked while yelling.
"I feel bad for killing you but I can't let you guys get me," he said to himself.
Behind him appeared the rest of the hunters and one of them yelled again: "Surrender before it's too late!"
Yamikuro stood up and looked at them with a serious face and he tried to run again.
"Fire all of the missiles you have! Do not let him get away!" One of them yelled.
While running he heard the hunters fall on the ground one by one. When he looked behind him he saw that all of the hunters were laying on the ground unconsciously. Yamikuro stood there not understanding what happened.
"The same thing happened when I met the old man," he thought to himself, "Is there someone else who came to save me?"
"Who are you?!" Yamikuro yelled.
After a bit of silence, someone walked out of the wheat farm, "Hi," Said the person who just walked out of there, "I came here to save you."
Yamikuro asked: "Do I know you?"
"I'd be surprised if you did. My name is Kazuhiko Tsukishima," he responded.
Before Yamikuro could say anything, Kazuhiko asked: "Do you by any chance possess powers?"
Yamikuro looked at him in shock: "N-No I don't."
"I'm not with the government. Even if I was, why would I kill the hunters and not kill you?" Kazuhiko said.
"Hunters? So you know about them?" Yamikuro asked.
Kazuhiko smiled: "Of course I know about them. They're sent by the government to hunt people with powers down, like me."
"So they were with the government," Yamikuro thought to himself.
"So, do you have powers or not?" He asked again.
"I do but I can't prove it." Yamikuro replied.
Kazuhiko started laughing, "You don't need to prove it to me. Them hunting you down was enough proof anyway, I just wanted to confirm it by having you say whether you have powers or not."
He stopped laughing and asked: "Listen, I'm inviting you to the hideout."
"Hideout?" Yamikuro got curious.
"Yes, it's a place where people with powers are, hence why you don't see them walking around in public," Kazuhiko replied.
"So, do you want to come to the hideout?" He asked.
"I don't have a place to go to anymore so I guess I don't have a choice," Yamikuro replied with a sad tone.
"I'm sorry to hear that, a lot of us end up like this. But I'm glad you're willing to join," Kazuhiko replied.
He then put his hand on Yamikuro's shoulder and they disappeared from there just when more hunters arrived.
"There's a total of five casualties but none of them seemed to be the kid," one of the hunters said.
"Find the kid and kill him!" The same hunter yelled.
Kazuhiko and Yamikuro both arrived at the entrance of a massive castle-like building. Around that building were multiple small towns in which people lived.
"This is the hideout," Kazuhiko said.
Yamikuro looked around while being amazed. There were people using all sorts of powers at the courtyard as they were walking through it. Some people had fire burning on their hands, some seemed to practice how to use water, there were also people creating tiny tornadoes and lighting storm clouds.
"You look like a mess right now, so come with me, I'll lend you some clothes," Kazuhiko directed him to one of the houses.
