The house that Yamikuro once lived in was lit in flames right in front of his eyes. The flames kept growing bigger and bigger with each passing second.
Yamikuro could feel the heat of the flames even from the other side of the street. While trying his hardest to hold back tears he felt something touch his shoulder, he then reached his hand to touch his shoulder out of desperation hoping it was either his mom or dad but it turned out it was just a raindrop.
He put his hand in front of him to feel if it was raining and he felt light drops of rain touch his hand and then all of a sudden it started to pour rain. The rain was slowly putting out the fire but the damage had already been done, the house couldn't be recovered.
Yamikuro was deep in his thoughts but was woken up by the sirens of police cars getting closer. At first Yamikuro thought about telling everything that happened to them but then he remembered what he was told earlier that day and he doesn't know who caused the death of his parents. He's also a wanted person now.
He was left with no choice but to run away again, he still wasn't sure whether he heard it correct that he's in possession of some sort of powers but he didn't want to risk it and decided to run as far as he could.
He took different turns and went through streets he wasn't familiar with. He came across a group of drunk people that noticed him and called him out. That made Yamikuro uncomfortable and scared so he decided to take a left turn and run through an alleyway.
The alleyway was dark, with no lights shining in it except for the light coming from one of the rooms on the third floor but that didn't provide much light. Yamikuro decided to run through it anyway, but in the middle of the alleyway there was a fence with a locked door.
The only way to get through it was to climb the fence. It was quite tall, it reached all the way up to second floor. He decided to go for it anyway since there were cops looking for him and a group of drunk people waiting for him outside the alleyway.
He started climbing it but as he was climbing he felt his hands and legs start shaking. It was either from the shivering because it was rainy and cold and the only thing Yamikuro had on was a hoodie he managed to grab right before he ran outside the house or it was from the fear and shock of everything that had happened, it could've also been both.
He was about halfway through climbing it when his hands started feeling really weak and he wanted to get back down but all of a sudden a flashlight was pointed on him and someone yelled: "Kid, get down from the fence! Where are your parents, you shouldn't be outside this late!"
Yamikuro didn't know what to answer because they would've found out his parents are dead and he's probably the kid they're looking for.
Yamikuro then suddenly felt strength in his hands and he took advantage of that by climbing over the fence and jumping down from the top without hesitation. The impact and height of the jump made him break an ankle but he decided to keep running ignoring the pain.
The policeman shockingly yelled for him to come back but it was already too late and he didn't want to climb that high. He made a call for a lookout for a kid on the run.
Yamikuro managed to run so far that he was almost out of the city, but he also found a bus stop. He thought it was an opportunity to hide from the rain and sit down.
It was quiet with the only noises being some raccoon trying to find food in the dumpsters on the other side of the street and in the house behind the bus stop there was a couple arguing. Their arguing was so loud it was heard outside but then it went quiet and the man came running outside with a trash bag full of clothes.
He ran to the same bus stop to hide from the rain. At first they were quiet for a minute or so but then the man lit up a cigarette, took a glance at Yamikuro and asked: "Why are you out so late?"
When the man noticed that Yamikuro was scared, he said: "Don't worry I'm not some creep", He then added, "I was just now dumped by my girlfriend and I don't know where to go.
"Yamikuro mumbled quietly: "Yeah, I heard that"
The man sighed and sat next to him and asked: "You heard everything, didn't you?"
After not getting an answer again, he decided to ask another question: "By the way, where are your parents? Do they know you're out here this late?"
When the man noticed Yamikuro wasn't answering or trying to talk with him at all, he decided to take a different route with the talk, "It's fine if you don't want to talk with me, I'm just a random man in the middle of the night asking you questions but I'm seriously worried."
The man saw that Yamikuro looked up to him while trying to hold back the tears and he decided to say: "I assume something happened at home that made you run away. If you want I can call the police to pick you up so you'd be safer."
"MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!" Yamikuro yelled out loud with tears bursting out of his eyes.
The man was shocked and didn't know how to respond. He sighed and told Yamikuro to let it all out.
They sat there for a while with Yamikuro crying and the man sitting there not knowing what to do.
He then got a notification on his phone about an amber alert, he took a glance at Yamikuro and the description matched the kid sitting next to him.
The man quietly asked, "Why haven't you gone to the police?"
To his surprise Yamikuro answered "They're looking for me. But not in a way you'd think. They want to capture me."
"Capture you? For what?" The man asked.
Yamikuro wiped the tears off his face, "According to them I have powers. Which I don't, I didn't think powers were even a real thing. You probably think I'm insane."
The man looked towards the sky, "Actually, I knew someone that had powers."
Yamikuro asked shockingly "So people do have powers?! How many of them are there?"
"There's only a few have them, the reason they're looking for you is because they want to get rid of any evidence of powers existing. There's been a war between humans without powers and humans with powers. I shouldn't be telling you all this but it doesn't matter anymore, my life is practically over anyway." Said the man.
"Why are they at war in the first place?" Yamikuro asked.
The man replied: "I don't know. I guess the government sees them as a threat."
Yamikuro seemed to be confused, "By the way, what's your name?"
The man started laughing a little, "How dumb of me not to ask your name. My name's Jacinto, what's yours."
"My name's Yamikuro." He responded.
Their conversation was cut off by the bus that was coming towards their way from a distance.
"Are you going on that bus?" Jacinto wanted to know.
Yamikuro responded: "No. I have no idea where it'll take me, I'm not familiar with this part of the city."
"You said the police were after you, didn't you? And you don't have a home to return to, you can't roam around here safely. Don't worry I won't report you." Jacinto said while looking at the bus.
The bus stopped at the bus stop and the doors opened. They both looked at eachother and Yamikuro said "Well then. I'm going to go now, are you coming with me?"
Jacinto chuckled and responded: "No. I'll stay here. Stay safe kid, maybe we'll meet one day."
Yamikuro walked in the bus and the doors closed behind him. He looked around and saw a few people on it. One man stood out from the rest of them, he kept staring at Yamikuro as he was trying to find somewhere to sit.
When Yamikuro sat down next to a window seat he was looking outside the entire time. The bus was driving outside of the city towards a highway.
