Chapter 86 - Chapter 5: Flight Training

The habits of wild boars are ferocious and aggressive, sometimes even daring to confront tigers!

Jia Yan was facing a rather large wild boar, a dominant presence accustomed to ruling over these mountain forests.

At this moment, its mouth opened wide, revealing sharp, formidable teeth, quite intimidating!

Its bristles stood on end, seemingly aiming to skewer any flying creature on its back.

However, Jia Yan was on its back, stepping on its sharp bristles, unaffected by them!

The wild boar tried to bite, but no matter how it twisted and turned, it couldn't reach the flying creature on its back.

Frantically, it jumped around in the jungle, trying to shake off the intruder on its back, but to no avail!

"It's useless. My six limbs have great strength! You can't shake me off!"

Jia Yan firmly grasped the wild boar's back with his six long legs, the rough skin providing a stable grip.

Those fuzzy things on his six legs were now encased in thick clumps, evidently reducing friction when grabbing things, but still possessing great strength, enabling him to stand firmly on the wild boar's back.

Jia Yan lowered his proboscis slightly.

Just as the wild boar looked on in terror,

The proboscis pierced out!

"Squeak!—"

The sturdy proboscis didn't 'gently' pierce but caused the wild boar to shriek in pain, its struggles becoming more intense in an instant.

But no matter how it struggled, the flying creature on its back refused to fall!

Nor did it relax its proboscis inserted into its body!

Jia Yan noticed that after his transformation, his proboscis had become sturdier.

The proboscis, once inserted into the creature's body, no longer needed to search for delicate capillaries, nor did it need to; once inserted, it caused considerable capillary damage, resulting in blood spilling out directly.

Jia Yan simply had the proboscis move around in the wild boar's back muscles!

The wild boar's cries grew even more pitiful.

Under the cover of the dark night, with the wind howling, a giant mosquito preyed, causing a wild boar to scream in agony, the sound carrying far into the night...

Truly tragic.

Finally, blood began to flow into Jia Yan's proboscis!

Exhausted, the wild boar stood in place, silently waiting for the brutality of the enemy invading its body to end.

"Wild boar blood is really good, all-natural and harmless, even better than human blood."

Jia Yan nodded slightly in approval of the wild boar's blood.

His size was too large; if he fed on blood, most creatures wouldn't be able to bear it!

But this wild boar was about one and a half meters long, weighing more than most humans, so after consuming about three hundred milliliters of its blood, he still seemed fine on the surface.

Just a bit weak.

Looking at his round abdomen, Jia Yan could faintly see the bright red inside through the clumps!

"Alright, thanks for your contribution, big guy!" With a flap of his wings, Jia Yan flew into the sky.

Leaving behind the victim of his brutality, standing there as if silently weeping.

After replenishing his nutrients, Jia Yan felt his strength return. Although blood was still far inferior to the mysterious fluid, it was one of the few food sources for mosquitoes, much better than plant juices!

The scenery of a nearby town appeared, but upon seeing the lights, Jia Yan turned back, continuing to fly deeper into the forest.

He didn't like going where humans were now; after all, his size made him easily noticeable, and if he attracted attention, it wouldn't be good!

Of course, nothing is absolute, but for now, it's unnecessary.

"There are bats below!"

Jia Yan maintained his flight altitude at over fifty meters, which was difficult for ordinary mosquitoes to reach. After leaving the human town, he surveyed with his compound eyes and spotted several fast-moving figures in the trees below!

Those were bats!

They were old opponents. Jia Yan's current form was no longer prey for bats, but that didn't mean he wouldn't pick a fight with them!

"These bats are very agile, perfect for simulating aerial combat. I'll use them for combat training!"

Dozens of bats flitted about in the forest.

These bats emitted ultrasonic waves from their mouths, then used their sensitive ears to receive these sounds, which, when feedbacked to their organs, allowed them to 'see' in the dark.

Bats were natural experts at catching mosquitoes; sometimes, they could consume hundreds in a single night.

As Jia Yan descended, another clueless bat flew towards him.

Perhaps it mistook him for a slightly larger mosquito, but when it got close, the bat quickly hit the brakes!

It was startled!

This wasn't just a big mosquito; it was definitely a super-sized version!

The bat's body was only a few centimeters long, with wingspread just over a dozen centimeters, but this giant mosquito had a body length of twenty-five centimeters!

With wingspread, its six long legs covered a range of seventy to eighty centimeters!

Absolutely massive!

In front of him, the bat, only a few centimeters in size, seemed like a child.

Jia Yan flew to the forest area, then quickly soared towards the approaching black bat!

The bat was already alarmed; it hesitated for a moment, then swiftly flapped its wings to change direction!

It wanted to escape!

Now was the time to test Jia Yan's agility in flight.

Although Jia Yan's flight speed was much faster than these bats, his agility was limited by his massive body and lack of training, so he was quite inferior in this aspect.

Chase after it!

But as the bat darted into the forest, a tree loomed closer in Jia Yan's vision; there was no time to turn around.

He could only control his wings and quickly reduce his flying speed.

By the time he looked for the bat again, it had disappeared!

"No rush, there are plenty of bats here, enough for my training!"

Jia Yan targeted another bat and flew towards it once more!

Chasing and evading, an hour passed by like this.

Although he still hadn't caught any bats, Jia Yan had made a discovery!

During small-scale maneuvers, he felt that by slightly moving the balance bar on his back with the muscles below, he could cause slight changes in his flight posture!

Although the muscles controlling this part weren't strong enough yet, so the effect was not significant, in high-speed movement, even a slight change could make a huge difference!

Jia Yan began to try controlling the balance bar!

The so-called balance bar was actually the second pair of vestigial wings of Diptera. Over a long period of evolution, these hind wings turned into a balance bar, the evolutionary direction chosen by the creatures, leading to the birth of Diptera.

Chasing after another bat!

This bat was very agile. When Jia Yan chased it, it swiftly performed a clever turn in mid-air!

However, after chasing bats for so long, Jia Yan was very familiar with their movements!

He made a judgment early on, then slightly moved the muscles controlling the balance bar!

At the same time,

he controlled his wings to change direction!

Even his body tilted to the side with force!

Several long legs consciously reached towards the direction of the turn!

With this series of actions, Jia Yan's body rapidly changed direction!

He caught up with the bat!

Looking at the bat, which was within reach, the gleam in Jia Yan's compound eyes flashed!

He suddenly extended his proboscis, and the steel-like proboscis shot out like a bullet, piercing the bat's back!

Penetrating its body, it pierced out from the chest!

"Squeak!—"

The bat let out a sharp, painful scream.

But with its heart pierced through, it could only let out a few reluctant screams before weakly slipping out from Jia Yan's proboscis and falling to the ground...

Dead.

"Very good. This is the first bat I've killed. I'll kill more next!"

"Until I achieve the best agility."

"I'll rest during the day and come out to train at night."

This was destined to be a sleepless night.

As Jia Yan continued training, there were some undercurrents in certain places.

Figures with a keen sense of the bigger picture were beginning to sense that something was brewing, as if certain events were on the verge of erupting.

All it needed was a spark, and perhaps an incredible event would unfold!
