Chapter 42 - Chapter 3: Assassin's Intelligence

Two days ago, two assassins left China. After a long silence, the young man with glasses unexpectedly analyzed, "This person is very likely not a professional assassin. We might even be able to recruit him into our organization!"

Bearded man was initially surprised, intending to argue against it. How could someone with these skills not be a professional assassin?

But upon closer examination, many of the target's behaviors seemed suspicious and even contradicted the typical assassin's style.

Of course, he was cautious enough, perhaps even excessively so!

However, all of this couldn't conceal some immature actions and details. If he wasn't a professional assassin, there was indeed a possibility.

So the young man with glasses suggested, "Let's bring him into the organization, maybe even team up with him in the future, forming one of the strongest teams in the organization."

Bearded man was intrigued. Having such a strong companion would be like adding wings to a tiger.

Soon, a response appeared on Jia Yan's laptop screen.

"Pleasure to see you again. What information do you need? We will do our best to assist you."

Seeing that the response wasn't delayed too long, Jia Yan felt excited. If they didn't come online again, Jia Yan's search would take a much longer route, and he might not even find them at all!

Banging the keyboard with half an eraser!

"You should be familiar with the figure known as Northeast Tiger in China. I'm looking to find his pharmaceutical factory. If possible, I hope to get your help. Consider it a favor owed..."

"Northeast Tiger?"

The two assassins in front of the phone screen looked at each other. Originally, they were guessing that the other person wasn't actually an addict. After the first day when the person claimed to be an addict to catch their attention, they never pretended to be an addict again.

They had already guessed that the other person wasn't an addict, but neither side had brought it up.

Now, the other party directly asked about Northeast Tiger's whereabouts. Didn't the addict follow Northeast Tiger? How could you directly contradict yourself without blushing or skipping a beat? They didn't know that Jia Yan found typing exhausting and avoided explaining whenever possible.

The two of them brewed over it for a moment in Hawaii, then the young man with glasses nodded solemnly. "Let's investigate him within the organization. If we want to be partners with him, we should be willing to pay this price."

"Alright." Bearded man switched the phone screen to the desktop and dialed a number!

"Hey, Vivian. Help me check some information..."

"Oh, sure, sure. Haha, next time you come back, you must accept my invitation to dinner, okay? Hey, don't hang up..."

Bearded man hung up the phone, muttering to himself, "Always rejecting me, and now hanging up on me. Vivian, just wait!"

The young man with glasses chuckled lightly.

After a moment, Jia Yan received a reply.

"Our organization's intelligence system mainly focuses on information from other countries, so we don't know much about Northeast Tiger, the emerging leader of China. We only roughly know that his so-called factory is hidden deep in the secretive Changbai Mountain range. I can send you a rough area map. If our organization's intelligence is correct, Northeast Tiger's factory should be within this range."

Before Jia Yan could reply, a quickly hand-drawn map appeared on QQ. It was evident that the person who drew the map was skilled, as they outlined a rough shape of Jilin Province with just a few strokes.

And in the southeast corner of Jilin Province on the map, which bordered North Korea, several circles were drawn in black.

"Northeast Tiger's factory is on the border?"

Jia Yan wondered, but he thanked them, "Your intelligence has been a great help to me. Thank you very much! Goodbye."

He was about to close QQ, but the other party immediately sent another message, leaving him dumbfounded.

"Wait, you're not the senior addict, are you? Since we're friends now, please tell us your code name, at least it's easier to address each other, right? Let's start, my code name is 'Chinese Beard,' you can call me Beard, Xiao Yao's code name is 'Young Eagle,' so what about you?"

Code name? These people really have a lot of quirks...

Jia Yan thought for a moment and typed two characters.

"Worm Wen!"

The combination of 'worm' and 'wen' makes 'mosquito,' which is easy to understand.

Jia Yan didn't want to deal too much with these two assassins, so he didn't wait for a reply and directly closed QQ.

And his instantly blackened avatar made the bearded duo on the other side of the ocean smile bitterly at each other. They had initially wanted to test the waters and then invite him to join, but they had to delete their messages one by one.

"Northeast Tiger's information, these two might not necessarily tell me the truth, but since they have the intention to keep in touch with me, this piece of information still has some credibility."

"Well, there's no other intelligence anyway! At most, it's just a waste of time!"

Jia Yan decided to go to the places marked by the circles.

After closing QQ, he chose to open the web to search for maps and see what those circled places were.

While he was at it, he searched online to see what transportation options were available to get to those locations.

"Luckily, these points are all quite close, all located in a neighboring border county called Tumeng City."

Jia Yan looked through the information on the webpage, and as he gathered more and more information, he began to understand the general information about this border city.

The northeastern area of Tumeng City was characterized by low mountains and dense bushes, with many forests. The circled areas on the map seemed to be in the northeastern area.

Northeast Tiger's so-called factory was indeed very secretive, coupled with its location on the border, making the environment relatively complex. This allowed him to evade some troubles.

From a strategic perspective, it was quite clever!

"Great! I'm already in Jilin Province, and I can reach Tumeng City by train soon!"

Jia Yan finally finished gathering information.

He tried his best to remember several pieces of information in his mind. There was no other way. Now, he was just a mosquito, unable to use a notebook or phone to take notes. He could only rely on his own memory to remember the information completely.

After doing all this, Jia Yan's compound eyes flickered!

"It's been almost two days without blood, and I'm a little hungry..."

He began to delete his chat records, browsing history, and QQ login account information.

Then, Jia Yan's wings trembled!

The mosquito's body flew up, its dark black color shining mysteriously under the light from the computer screen.

He flew into the room where the two occupants were sleeping in each other's arms...

If you blame anyone, blame yourselves for being so passionate, not only leaving the balcony door open but also forgetting to close the bedroom door in your haste.

Isn't this just asking for mosquitoes to bite?

Jia Yan thought mischievously.

But he was sure that after sucking up the CHr-379 virus, as long as he

sucked in two more times of clean water and spat them out, it was equivalent to cleaning his internal organs and mouthparts, and he wouldn't infect humans with the virus again. Yu Yuan was his experimental subject. When he poisoned Yu Tao before, Jia Yan tried rinsing his mouth with clean water, and the next day when he bit Yu Yuan, he didn't show any reaction.

So, Jia Yan could basically ensure that he wouldn't spread the virus or anything else harmful to humans.

Of course, there was a certain possibility of accidents.

If something bad did happen, Jia Yan couldn't help it. He could only say that the person who was bitten was unlucky!

Now that he was a mosquito, he couldn't survive without sucking blood!

He could be sure that sucking plant sap couldn't keep up with his energy consumption. Only blood could give him strength!

At least he had tried his best to keep clean, Jia Yan thought he had done a good job.

Before long, murmurs came from the bedroom, and the light turned on.

The man put on a pair of shorts and jumped onto the balcony, closing the door tightly.

But before that, a fully fed, dark black, huge Chinese mosquito had already flown out of the balcony door and straight into the sky!

"Sorry about that..." Jia Yan smiled inwardly, soaring with his wings.

He returned to the canopy.

The small bottle of CHr-379 virus liquid was still in its place, without any problems.

Jia Yan breathed a sigh of relief, considering today's mission accomplished.

In fact, his decision was not wrong. Northeast Tiger must be from the northeast, so before asking the two assassins, he came to Jilin Province, which belonged to the northeast. He took a long train ride over here, and it was likely that the two assassins had also arrived at a safe place during their escape journey.

So, when he asked them for information later, after getting their messages, he could directly set off again, saving a lot of time compared to going back to the northeast from Shanghai. It saved a lot of time this way.

Whether the information from these two people was accurate and whether they were deceiving him, he had to go there in person to find out. It was better than searching among the vast crowd himself, right?

Jia Yan reviewed his series of thoughts and felt that they were correct.

But it was already late today. After the arduous journey, Jia Yan decided to rest in Yongchun, the provincial capital city, for one night.

Tomorrow, he would set off to Tumeng City, the border county, to find Northeast Tiger's factory!
