Chapter 20 - blood droplets

Rajeev, ever dedicated to his craft, often found solace and inspiration in the ancient herbal remedies his grandfather had once taught him. Blending modern medicine with traditional knowledge, he believed in the healing power of nature. On this particular day, he set out early, heading deep into the jungle to gather some rare medicinal herbs.

The forest was alive with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves. The scent of damp earth and fresh greenery filled the air as Rajeev carefully navigated through the dense undergrowth. His destination was a specific spot on the mountainside known for its abundance of medicinal plants.

As he climbed higher, the vegetation grew thicker, and he moved with the practiced ease of someone familiar with the terrain. He reached a cluster of plants, their vibrant green leaves glistening with morning dew. He bent down to examine them, carefully selecting the ones he needed. It was then that he noticed something unusual—a smear of blood on one of the leaves.

Rajeev's eyes narrowed with concern. The blood looked fresh. His instincts as a doctor kicked in immediately. He scanned the area, his heart quickening as he followed the trail of blood droplets, each step leading him deeper into the forest.

After a short but tense trek, he came upon a clearing. There, lying amidst the ferns and wildflowers, was a young woman. She was strikingly beautiful, even in her distressed state, with long, dark hair cascading over her shoulders and a delicate, pale complexion. Her clothes were torn, and she had a deep wound on her head, blood matting her hair.

Rajeev's heart pounded as he knelt beside her, quickly assessing her injuries. She was unconscious but breathing steadily. Her pulse, though weak, was stable. He carefully lifted her, mindful of her wounds, and began the descent back to the village, cradling her as gently as he could.

The journey was arduous, but Rajeev's determination didn't waver. He reached the hospital, where the staff quickly took her into the emergency room. Rajeev, with his advanced medical skills and knowledge of herbal remedies, cleaned and dressed her wounds, administering necessary treatments to stabilize her condition.

Hours passed, and Rajeev remained by her side, monitoring her vitals and ensuring she was comfortable. As the evening approached, he couldn't help but wonder who she was and what had happened to her. She seemed so out of place, so fragile and mysterious in this quiet village.
