Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: Ultimate Apex Predator

Hi guys thanks for all the support and Powerstones I really appreciate it. According to a werewolf legend,Philip, the son of Lucas, committed a heinous act that enraged the god zebb. Philip served zebb a meal made from the remains of a sacrificed new born, which was perceived as a grave insult by the god. As a result, the furious zebb decided to punish Philip and his father by transforming them into wolves.

Over time, Philip discovered that they could shapeshift, and they honed this skill to perfection. They became adept at changing their form, and they learned to transform back into humans at will. This transformation was a remarkable feat, and it allowed them to roam the world freely without being recognized as wolves.

Werewolves and vampires are both apex predators who have a long-standing rivalry that has been passed down through generations. They despise each other and will go to great lengths to eliminate their enemies. Rumors circulated that werewolves were once enslaved by the vampires, which eventually led to a deep-seated hatred among the werewolf community and sparked a brutal war between the two species. The conflict continues to this day, with both sides fiercely determined to dominate the other.

Ian and Lily, Orpheus' parents, had been searching for a birth-alpha werewolf for over 12 years. A birth-alpha is a werewolf that was born an alpha and gained strength from killing their prey alone. These rare creatures often lived in the wild, as most alphas, betas, and omegas coexist with humans in modern times. Vampires also share the same living space with humans, some can control their thirst while some can't.

Orpheus' parents finally found a birth-alpha, and they captured him. However, they needed to extract the venom from his fangs in the right way, or it could jeopardize the results. They came up with a unique method of extracting the venom that involved injecting a special solution to make the alpha weak and release the venom. This allowed them to collect the potent venom safely and without causing any harm to the alpha. He needed to be in perfect condition for the experiment. Eventually, they were able to gather all of the venom from the alpha, and after getting all they needed, they killed him brutally because he was no longer needed.

At the age of 16, Orpheus' parents decided to inject him with the venom to trigger his transformation into a hybrid supernatural being. However, the process was slow and painful. The venom triggered the transformation of both a werewolf and a vampire within him, causing a clash of two apex predators in his body. The transition was rough, and Orpheus found himself struggling to control his newfound powers. His senses were over-heightened, and he was experiencing an overwhelming sensation due to the heightened hearing and sight abilities that werewolves and vampires possess. He found everything to be so bright and vivid, making it difficult for him to adjust to his surroundings. The transformation also resulted in him having two different sets of fangs and unimaginable claws. All of these changes left Orpheus feeling out of control and struggling to come to terms with his new identity.

As Ian witnessed the scene, he couldn't help but exclaim with excitement, "It's working! He just has to kill us, and that will help his werewolf half understand that they both crave the same thing. His vampire half desires blood, while his werewolf half just wants the satisfaction of tearing something apart. His werewolf half detests vampires so it would probably rip us into different pieces."

However, Lily, who was standing close by, had second thoughts about their situation. She couldn't help but voice her concerns, "But does it have to be us who dies?" she asked, hoping that there was another way to achieve their goal without sacrificing themselves.

Ian listened to his wife in silence, his mind consumed by the weight of the witch's words. He had been seeking her guidance, hoping to find a way for Orpheus to retain his humanity while embracing his transformation into a powerful being. But the witch's advice was far from what he had expected. According to her, if Orpheus wanted to hold onto his humanity, he would have to do something truly unthinkable - take the life of someone he cherished, who else does he cherish aside his parents?

The witch explained that this was a critical step in Orpheus's transformation. If he wanted to survive among humans, he needed to understand their emotional depths and learn to control his own. Killing without a second thought would only take him to the path of destruction and lead him astray from his goals.

But the witch's warnings didn't end there. She spoke of the prophecy that would come with Orpheus's transformation. Both vampires and werewolves are enemies, his very existence was a threat to the natural order of things. If he failed to prove himself as a worthy balance between the two, the world itself would be in jeopardy.

"Are you certain that Orpheus will kill us? He is not a violent person," Lily asked with concern.

In response, Ian explained, "He has to, for he is now an Ultimate Apex Predator, We've been depriving him of blood for several days now. He hasn't had any blood in a week, and he's likely feeling quite thirsty.

Although his vampire side may not be inclined to feed on us, his wolf side isn't accustomed to our presence, and could easily attack and tear us apart.

Throughout the conversation, Orpheus underwent a gradual transformation, and It wasn't an easy one. It was a fascinating sight to behold, as his features contorted and shifted, blurring the line between vampires and werewolves. As the hours ticked by, his face began to take on a more sinister form; half of his face was normal, his eyes was black. It looked like a vampire, while the other half was uncannily wolf-like.The transformation was slow but steady, taking almost five hours to reach this halfway point.

Orpheus transformation was a testament to the incredible power of whatever force was driving this metamorphosis
