Orpheus and Danny, who had been disconnected from modern society for an extended period, found themselves struggling to navigate the bustling city streets in search of the train station. The bright lights, the cacophony of cars honking, and the throngs of people hurrying past them were overwhelming, and they felt lost and disoriented. Despite the challenges, they persevered and eventually managed to locate the train station. After waiting in line for what seemed like an eternity, they finally secured their train tickets and boarded the train, eagerly setting off for their journey to Norwest.
As they arrived in Norwest, Orpheus and Danny were faced with another hurdle that stood in the way of their journey. The quest to find his familiar was more challenging Than anticipated. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to locate the building, and their frustration was mounting with every passing moment. They wandered around the area, scanning the surroundings for any signs of the place they sought.
Desperate to find the familiar abode, Danny and Orpheus approached every person they encountered, seeking directions to the building. However, their attempts were met with skepticism and suspicion. The locals eyed them cautiously, unsure of their intentions and doubtful of their appearance. Some even mistook them for party-goers and dismissed their inquiries, leaving them feeling dejected and helpless.
Undeterred by the initial setbacks, Danny and Orpheus kept on searching, knocking on doors, and asking for help. But no one was willing to disclose the location of the building, leaving them feeling lost and hopeless. Danny wondered if they would ever find their familiar home or if they were destined to be forever lost in the maze-like streets of Norwest.
They went further into the town but to no avail, the directions were just taken them back and forth.
As they leisurely walked down the lively street, the sounds of honking cars and bustling crowds gradually faded into an eerie silence as they entered an oddly abandoned area. The street was less busy than the previous ones, with closed shops and empty sidewalks. As they continued walking down the quiet street, their eyes caught a glimpse of a young boy who appeared to be around the age of fourteen. He was dressed in a shabby, t-shirt and shorts, with a backpack slung over his shoulder. His eyes, locked in a pensive stare, seemed to be fixated on something in the distance. Orpheus, who was observant, took a good look at the boy and realized that he was a werewolf. Without hesitation, he called out to the boy, "Hey, kid." The boy stopped in his tracks, turned around, and looked at them with a skeptical expression. "I don't talk to strangers," he said. Orpheus knew that he had to gain the boy's trust, so he continued, "Yeah, but a stranger wouldn't know you're a werewolf, would they?" The boy was surprised that Orpheus had figured out his secret and asked, "No... how do you know I'm a werewolf?"
"Because I am a werewolf too". Orpheus said as he brought out his fangs and showed his red eyes.
"You are an alpha". he said.
"Yes, I am". Orpheus said.
"Wow, I have never met an alpha before". He said in amusement.
Orpheus pulled out a photograph of a grand building and showed it to a curious young boy. Sensing the boy's intrigue, Orpheus asked him if he had seen it before. The boy's face lit up with recognition and he replied in the affirmative, adding that the building was located quite far from where they were currently standing.
Orpheus probed the boy further, asking where he had seen it. The boy explained that he had been on a school field trip to Mount Rive, and he saw the building on the way there.
If you transform into your wolf you might be able to get there on time, but if you go on foot it takes a while because it's really hard to see a cab or taxi around here". He said
Orpheus turned to the young boy and asked for directions. "Don't worry about that, just point us in the right direction," he said. The boy instructed them to walk straight ahead until they reached an intersection at the end of the street. From there, they were to turn left and continue walking until they reached a series of streets. Then, they were to turn right and keep going until they arrived at Hale province.
The boy informed them that they would know they had reached Hale province when they saw a bridge that separated it from Riverdale. Although he didn't know the exact location of the building they were looking for, he was certain that it was in Riverdale. Danny was impressed with the boy's detailed directions and remarked, "That was one hell of a direction, thank you.."
The boy's recent transformation into a wolf was evident from his behavior, his sense of smell seemed to be lacking because he wasn't able to smell the fact that Danny was a vampire.
The sun was beating down on Orpheus and Danny as they stood on the dusty road, trying to make sense of the directions the boy had just given them. They watched as he turned around and walked away, his lanky frame disappearing into the distance. Orpheus couldn't help but notice the confident strides which wasn't a shock to anyone since the young boy was a werewolf.
As the reality of the journey ahead began to sink in, Orpheus and Danny felt a sense of frustration and apprehension wash over them. The destination the boy had described seemed impossibly far away, and they had no idea how they were going to make it there. The road ahead was long and uncertain, and they knew that they would have to rely on each other to navigate the challenges that lay ahead.
Danny looked at Orpheus, his eyes betraying his doubts and uncertainties. Orpheus could see that Danny was starting to feel overwhelmed.
