On the podium, Albert paused for a moment, seemingly hesitant, and continued, "At times, if we capture a live vampire, which is a precious living vampire specimen, there could be another option besides eliminating it to prevent future harm. We could consider sending it to the research lab in hopes of potentially achieving the goal of extending human lifespan."
In the corner, Helen lost control. Her ten fingers curled like hooks, and her nails rapidly grew longer. Two sharp moon-shaped teeth appeared in her mouth as she opened it wide, ready to bite Albert.
Albert dodged Helen's attack by sidestepping and quickly took out a piece of talisman paper from between his fingers, sticking it directly onto Helen's head. He then spoke in a low voice, "Stop!"
Helen's body went limp, and she instantly lost consciousness, collapsing into Albert's arms. Albert secretly breathed a sigh of relief; some powerful vampires were not afraid of talismans at all. He estimated that she was currently in a weakened state, which allowed her to be controlled.
On the podium, Dennis subtly glanced in this direction with a slight turn of his eyes, continuing his explanation without leaving any trace. In the unnoticed corner, no one noticed his hand hanging by his side, which was trembling ever so slightly...
Albert walked into the underground parking lot with Helen and bumped into two people head-on, who were Abby and Hank, whom they had just visited Star City University in the morning.
"Mr. Swan, long time no see." Abby stood in front of Albert with a gentle and refined face, wearing a friendly smile as she greeted him.
Albert shrugged and walked past Abby, "saying, Sorry, my woman is drunk and we're in a hurry."
Hank reached out and stopped Albert, looking into his arms with a smile and said, "Mr. Swan, are you changing your taste? Her chest seems a bit small."
Albert sighed, looking conflicted and slightly embarrassed, and said, "Lately I have been attracted to slim figures. Please let me pass. Thank you."
Hank stood still, his eyes fixed on the person in Albert's arms, unwilling to leave. "Mr. Swan, it has been a long time since we last met. How about we show some face and have a drink together?"
Albert didn't expect Hank to actually bother him. The warm colors on his smiling face instantly froze and turned cold, showing disdain: "I seem to be unfamiliar with both of you."
Hank moved his lips, as if he wanted to say something more. Just then, a man with a slender silhouette approached from the direction of the parking lot.
"Hello again, both of you." Dennis walked up to Abby and politely extended his hand.
Abby reached out and shook hands with Dennis, smiling as she said, "Yeah, just settled the bill for you earlier. Didn't expect to run into you again so soon."
"Is that so?" Dennis lowered his brows and spoke softly, his deep eyes shimmering like water. He said lightly, "In that case, may I invite both of you upstairs for a gathering? And perhaps, to verify the goods?"
He referred to the goods that are highly sought after by vampire hunters, which are high-quality bloodline products. The grade of these goods is considered above average.
"Oh? That's fine. Hank, let's go take a look at the goods." Abby seemed interested in the merchandise.
When leaving, Abby suddenly turned back and silently glanced at Albert. That glance was calm and deep, silent and empty, like a motionless black hole without boundaries or bottom.
From the moment Dennis appeared until he left, he never looked at Albert once. It was as if that man was invisible air, never entering his sight no matter when or where or what happened.
Although Albert doesn't like relying on Dennis in times of need, he has no choice now.
He quickly took Helen and left, speeding along the way, driving from the south of the city to the north, until they reached the beach at Star City's northern port. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief. He parked the car with ease, opened the sunroof, rested his hands behind his head, and leisurely enjoyed the sea breeze blowing in.
After two hours, Helen finally woke up and regained her normal human form. Albert handed her a blood bag and curiously asked, "Why don't you ask me how I knew you were a vampire?"
Helen bit into the blood packet, as if drinking a delicious beverage, and said, "Because of the timing and location you appeared in, and you know Dennis."
" That's true." Albert nodded in agreement and asked, "Do you hate Dennis?"
Helen gently shook her head, and a faint glimmer flickered in the depths of her dark eyes as she said, "I simply dislike certain humans. In this world, every species has its own laws of development, yet there are those who wish to disrupt our survival principles. Especially when it comes to live research."
Albert agreed once again, but he wanted to explain: "Every race has good and bad people, justice and evil, so we shouldn't generalize. Especially when it comes to wasting someone like me, a tall, handsome, wealthy single man. How about going to a hotel room to get to know each other?"
"I refuse."
Helen opened the car door and decisively declined Albert's invitation, walking step by step towards the sea in front of Albert.
"Hey, even if you don't want to go to the hotel, there's no need to resort to death as a determination," Albert caught up and was rejected. He was absolutely devastated.
In the evening sea breeze, Helen suddenly turned around, smiled and then sank into the sea like a beautiful mermaid, drifting away. When she emerged from the surface again, only her bald head, flawless slender neck and fair skin remained. At this moment, the seawater gently rippled over her chest, faintly covering her snow-white breasts.
Albert's eyes darkened, and he froze. His throat felt dry, and his body became stiff. His gaze locked onto the rolling sea, unable to turn away. In the vast expanse before him, all he could see besides the sky and ocean was that woman bathed in the light of the sea.
Suddenly, on the vast sea, the woman's arm emerged from the surface and threw a wet black mass towards Albert.
"What is that? Seaweed?"
Albert reached out and caught it. It turned out to be the set of clothes, wig, and two very expensive shoes that he had given to Helen.
"Thank you for the lunch. Goodbye."
Helen floated in the water, waved to Albert, and then gracefully turned around and dived into the sea. In the moonlight, a beautiful arc emerged on the vast ocean surface, diving straight into the depths and disappearing from sight. Vampires do not need to breathe or have a heartbeat, allowing them to stay underwater indefinitely.
Until the sea returned to calm, Albert regained his composure. He placed a hand over his heart, where ripples uncontrollably emerged, murmuring to himself, "Is this truly destined in my fate?"
After a long while, the night wind arrived, blowing salty sea particles that stuck to Albert's face. He wiped his stiffened face and carried his damp clothes, taking one step at a time as he looked back towards the shore.
