Chapter 15 - Attractiveness

Helen and Camille exchanged a cold glance. Outside the door, Dennis stood in front of it and looked around. He took out a universal lock opener from his pocket and placed it on the combination lock.

After ten seconds, the door unlocked itself with a 'click' sound, revealing a narrow slit of light.

In the narrow gap, two black shadows faintly appeared. Those shadows were icy cold, with fingers like hooks and pointed ears. They were vampires!

At this moment, they were standing at the door, ready and waiting for the uninvited human volunteer outside to take the bait.

Dennis coughed lightly twice, giving a warning to the two vampires inside the room in advance, before striding confidently and calmly walking in.

Inside the house, Camila leaped up, baring her teeth and claws, instantly pouncing towards Dennis.

Dennis raised an eyebrow lightly, a coldness flickering in his eyes as he calmly said, "If you dare to make any reckless moves, I will make you disappear from this world."

"Bang!"

With a loud noise, a frying pan was swung. The head of the former vampire war god tilted, and he crashed straight into Dennis behind him. He grabbed onto the door with both hands and slowly slid down, leaving a trail of fresh red blood on his breath.

Unexpectedly, she, once a vampire warrior, was defeated by a human with a frying pan.

Dennis paid no attention to this and elegantly stood at the entrance changing his slippers.

He walked through the house as if he were in his own home, first observing the overall layout of the rooms, then moving on to the master bedroom, guest bedrooms, study, and bathroom. Finally, Dennis entered the kitchen while unfastening the diamond cufflinks on his sleeves.

Helen suppressed her violent anger, and her deep dark eyes resembled the sea under moonlight, shimmering with countless flickering fragments of light.

Ever since Dennis walked into the room, her mood has been somewhat subtle, with a hint of small contradictions and conflicts.

That is a very peculiar feeling, one that I have never experienced before, but it doesn't seem to be disliked. Even though this man is always accustomed to being indifferent and having a reserved nature.

Camilla got up from the ground, biting her sharp teeth and casting a mischievous glance at Dennis' back: "Hey, is he keeping you? His physique is really sexy!"

Helen picked up the sunglasses and threw them to Camilla, dragging her words with a long tone. Her dark eyes looked particularly serious as she said, "Listen carefully, he is mine. Also, don't look at him inappropriately."

In the vampire community, every vampire is selfish, especially when it comes to prey. In the purebred vampire ideology, love equals possession, control, ownership, and prey.

Camilla reluctantly put on her sunglasses, wiped the blood off her nose, and walked towards the bathroom. "If I don't look, then I won't look. Men are all the same when they take their clothes off, to be honest... his... is quite big."

In front of the handsome man, she, as a dignified vampire warrior goddess, cannot maintain a terrifying face covered in blood. It would be too unseemly.

Helen walked into the kitchen and pretended as if nothing was happening, asking, "What are you doing here?"

Dennis rolled up his sleeves, grabbed a frying pan and weighed it in his hand. His words were as light as smoke, blowing past Helen's ear: "Are you going to come back with me willingly, or do I have to knock you out and carry you back?"

Helen stood in front of a transparent glass window, her noble and indifferent beauty reflected on the window. The light in her eyes gradually dimmed as she said, "What if I don't plan to go back?"

She couldn't forget Dennis' speech at the research meeting yesterday, nor could she forget the passionate and confusing deep kiss from last night. Furthermore, she is a noble vampire queen burdened with an undeniable leadership responsibility, while he is the vampires' archenemy, a natural-born vampire hunter.

They are simply not suitable to get too close, unless vampires and humans can return to peace. Or, humans stop the slaughter and live experimentation on vampires.

Dennis put down the frying pan and walked over to Helen, saying, "Don't you want to hear the third option?"

"Sure."

Dennis placed his hand on the windowsill and lightly rubbed the smooth marble surface. His tone was calm and ambiguous as he said," Choose between yourself and Camilla's fate. You've spent so much of my work budget, you need to give me an excuse to appease those in charge."

"Are you threatening me?" Helen furrowed her brows slightly. She was currently in a weakened state, and this man could potentially harm them.

"It could be considered so."

"You can't kill her. Your money is what I'm using, and it has nothing to do with her," Helen reluctantly changed her tone and chose to compromise for the time being.

"So, you were spending in her name?" Dennis chuckled lightly, as if he had heard the most insincere lie in the world. "Miss Helen, I could accuse you of stealing my property privately."

Helen's face turned gloomy. This man gave her the card, but then changed his mind?

Camilla couldn't help but join in the conversation between the two people who were arguing with each other. She asked, "Helen, why did you choose such a cunning and heartless human? Is he a lawyer?"

"No," Helen shook her head and said, "He is a teacher. Currently employed at Star City University."

"Disclosing someone's personal information without authorization is a serious offense. Additionally, can anyone explain the definition of 'scheming and cold-blooded'? If inappropriate, we could also consider adding a defamation charge." Dennis shifted his gaze calmly onto Camila.

Camilla immediately extended her hands to cover her eyes, pretending to be blind, and groped her way towards the living room. Damn it! She, a mighty vampire warrior, actually fears a human?

Helen's face was full of black lines, and the corners of her mouth twitched slightly. Is this all the backbone that the vampire war god has? Where is the former arrogance?

Dennis glanced at his wristwatch and said, "How much longer do we need to consider? Your time is running out."

Just now, the bloodline aura they emitted was enough to attract other hunters, such as Hank, Abby, or even more.

Helen shrugged her shoulders, appearing indifferent. "Regardless, the money I spent should not be attributed to Camilla. But now, I have no more money left, only my life."

"You are really a rascal," Dennis frowned, and there was a hint of meaning in his dark tea-colored eyes.

"Who cares?" Helen shrugged indifferently, a hint of silver light flickering in her deep dark eyes. She said, "Regardless, vampires and humans signed an eternal peace treaty thousands of years ago."

"So?" Dennis took over the conversation, curious to see what this arrogant woman was up to.
