What was now staring down the vampire, was no longer the same super tiny bird. Now she could perch on someone's shoulder and stand right around the size of their head. Of course this was for the average adult. She was no longer a Tori Naru.
"The young lady evolved already! She's become a Tori." A priestess noted with a warm and happy expression, then proceeded to put some more effort in for herself.
"Huh, so that's why I wasn't able to fight properly anymore. Did I reach the maximum amount of practice I could have as a Tori Naru?" Vitaliana, wondered aloud, twisting and turning to check out her new abilities.
I'll take a look at my stats…
Seriously? Just one miniscule evolution and I'm already this much closer to my stats in my previous life? How? The stats I have now… They should be on par with a mid-evolved monster at a high level…
"Hi there, you adorable little cutie. You've surprised me, so I'll explain it to you. Your soul contains all of your experiences, it has everything. It is you. Evolving as a monster, is the act of increasing the depth of one's soul." A super sweet sounding voice rang out in Vitaliana's head.
"I feel like I've heard this voice before, but it feels more comforting now for some reason… But if that's what evolving is, then was my soul compressed or something, to fit into this body?"
"Pfft, we've met before. I'm the one that reincarnated you. The determination you had for revenge was too much not to give you a chance. So I had you reincarnated in a way to give you what you lacked in your life. Now you're my great-granddaughter." The voice said soothing the very soul. "Until you evolve into a falcon, you'll experience a similar jump in stats. Regaining power from your past, to use in the present. These Vampires are the true enemy. Give them the beating only a Magus Monster can. The enemy before you now, well, it shouldn't even be a challenge now. Remember, they cheated for their stats by consuming others. Whereas, you are different, you earned those abilities and know how to use each and everyone of them. Happy hunting." The voice finished.
So that was my great-grandmother. No wonder her voice was so comforting. It was like if everything else failed, there was never a need to despair. She is clearly a mighty being, I wonder just how strong she truly is. Eh, enough of that, time to put the enemy back in their place.
The Vampire was fuming with hateful anger. A rarity among the undead, that's for sure. Why was he so ticked off? Well, before Vitaliana's evolution he felt that there was nothing that could stop him from winning. But now, he felt the complete opposite. He was terrified, petrified but more importantly utterly livid.
"HOW DARE YOU CHEAT ME LIKE THIS!" The Vampire roared out in all his hate, trying to psych himself up. "I'm going to kill you…" He said, raising a hand, firing not 1, not 2, not 3, but dozens of tiny blood bullets. Each arching in their own unique way.
"Hmpf, think the same trick is going to get me now? You're about to learn what it's like to face a thoroughly ticked off monster. One with the ability to think with human craftiness." Vitaliana said, dashing right for the Vampire.
Panicking the Vampire raised his other hand, repeating the same technique. Thus giving Vitaliana double the blood bullets to deal with. "Stop getting closer! Just die already! Embrace the comfort of eternal sleep!" He yelled, in a high pitched voice like someone had kicked him in the balls with iron shoes. Vitaliana, effortlessly dodging the blood bullets, got closer. She was completely undeterred.
Does this idiot really think he can defeat me? I already know he isn't going to waste those bullets attacking the people below. He can't afford to take any attention off of me. Hmm, that means those bullets are being collected… Behind me? Sure enough, he plans to assault me with mass pellet fire from behind…
"You dare! No more mercy can be had with you. You're going to experience the most painful death I can possibly give the undead." Vitaliana chirped with furious anger. How dare you copy the same method that killed me once before! Do you really think I would ever fall for that a second time!
"Huh?" The Vampire paused, confused and then kept firing. What could that bitchy bird be going on about?
"Know despair." Vitaliana's eyes glinted with a rage akin to the fiery fury of the sun.
Vitaliana finished the charge forward, pecking a deep wound into the Vampire's shoulder. Groaning in pain the vampire flew off trying to get away, but Vitaliana kept up with him. Turning the sky above the immediate into a light show, two fading lights dancing in a helical battle, the red fleeing from the green. And then, Vitaliana, began a rather well known chant.
The spell she was preparing, well, it's a risky spell for her to use at her current strength. However, all she cared about right now, was killing the enemy with extreme prejudice, with a heavy helping of fear on the side.
"You who have abandoned life…" Vitaliana's chant could be heard.
"WHAT! THAT! HOW DOES A MONSTER KNOW THAT SPELL!" The Vampire cried out in terror, knowing just how terrifying the spell was. It was one that the undead were expressly terrified of.
"...You who have turned against nature…" Vitaliana continued, her body swelling slightly.
The Vampire noticed this swelling and smirked. "Stop bluffing! You can't use that spell even if you wanted to!" He laughed, regaining a bit of his confidence charging back at Vitaliana, who promptly teleported out of the way.
"...Feel the fury of the mother you've forgotten. The one you abandoned. May your soul perish forever more. To be cast into permanent agony for an instant eternal damnation…" Vitaliana finished the chant. "World's Order - Obliteration!" She cawed with rage in her heart.
At that moment, all sound left the area and the Vampire stopped moving, frozen in place. A thick column of a radiant green light rose from the ground, connecting the sky with the ground. And then vanished, leaving nothing of its intended target behind. The vampire was completely obliterated, along with a few of the other ghoulish-vampires, leaving only a couple absolutely petrified ones left alive.
