Chapter 10 - Preparations for fight

Leo unexpectedly confronted Harold head-on when he provoked him, saying, "I don't know if you dare, but whether you can or not, I do know."

Harold erupted in laughter upon hearing this, exclaiming, "Hahahaha, what a colossal jest! Are you implying that I lack the ability to defeat you?"

"That's correct!" Leo said it in a forceful tone.

Harold's laughter abruptly ceased. He narrowed his eyes at Leo, betraying signs of realizing he may have underestimated the situation. He hadn't been provoked directly in a very long time. And now, in front of Lei Yao and his family's servants, he received a reprimand from someone he had previously written off as an ant. How could he save face without further asserting his dominance over Leo?

"Excellent, it appears that you won't cry until you see the coffin! Fighting is not permitted on Spirit Materials Street," said Harold icily. "Would you dare accompany me to the combat arena? "

Spirit Materials Street has a unique place called the martial arena. That was the only location on Spirit Materials Street where fighting to the death was permitted in the martial arts arena!

Spirit Materials Street forbade fighting, but given that students attended nine different schools from the three kingdoms, it was understandable that disputes arose that required fighting to be settled. For this reason, a martial arts arena was required. And thus the martial arts arena began.

"Young master, how could this possibly need your personal involvement? Let a subordinate deal with this kid. If that subordinate doesn't beat the crap out of him, then the subordinate will be punished."

"Young master, your subordinate is prepared to engage in combat. This individual has insulted us. I will ensure he faces the consequences!"

To impress Harold, his servants agreed to fight one after the other.

In their opinion, this was an excellent opportunity to acquire merit. They had witnessed Leo's strength previously, approximately ten days earlier, when he was only at the fourth stage of body refinement. He couldn't escape as long as they moved.

Harold snapped his fan, and his attendants abruptly stopped chatting.

"Silence. Today, I'd want to personally educate this irresponsible idiot with my own palm! Leo, do you dare accompany me to the martial arena?" Harold pointed at Leo's nose. His eyes were filled with arrogance and hatred.

"Do you dare to go!"

"Didn't you just talk big? "Why are you scared right now?"

"The young master is personally going to make a move; this is a great honor for you!"

The servants continued to be loud, attempting to provoke Leo into agreeing.

"Silence! If anyone makes a racket, don't blame me for being impolite!" The old shopkeeper interrupted, immediately making everyone silent. Clearly, this old shopkeeper was a deeply hidden expert.

Upon hearing the elderly retailer speak, not a single staff member dared to speak again. Not even Harold dared to speak up, much less the others.

Glancing at Leo, the old shopkeeper opened his mouth again and said, "Young man, the martial arena is easy to enter, but not easy to exit. Young people shouldn't get too excited."

He was much stronger than Leo and the others. Naturally, at first glance, he could tell that Leo was only about body-refining at the third level, and Harold had already reached body-refining at the fourth level. Leo had little chance of winning the fight, which wouldn't be straightforward.

Moreover, it seemed like Harold was some clan's young master. Who knew what sort of Trump cards he would have. Leo's chances were near zero.

But seeing Leo's loyalty, he secretly approved. Thus, his warning to Leo was clearly intended to help Leo. Nᴇw ɴovel chaptᴇrs are published on ɴoᴠel Fɪre.nᴇt

"That's right, ah, older brother Xuan. I heard that a few months ago, Harold had already broken through to the body-refining fourth level. We aren't his opponents. Hold it back. For a gentleman, getting revenge ten years later isn't too late." Alden was also loyal. Even after being threatened by Harold, he still stuck his head out to speak.

Alden's perception of Leo was based on information from ten days ago, assuming Leo was only at the second level of body refining strength. If there had been a difference of two stages, then there was no way he would be Harold's opponent. Leo

Leo waved his hand towards Alden, indicating to him to stop talking. Turning his head to the old shopkeeper, he bowed and said, "Many thanks, senior. It's just that my cultivation is currently full of obstacles. If I compromise during a fight, how could I breakthrough. I'm concerned that the final result of cultivation would be quite limited. Although my strength level is lower, I must be uncompromising!"

The old shopkeeper blushed with amazement as he heard these words from a body refining third-level person. He had not expected Leo's strong determination for martial arts despite his low strength.

He then shook his head and didn't say anything further. He had seen plenty of people like Leo. For these kinds of people with firm hearts for martial arts, if they did not perish, they would definitely become great talents. Unfortunately, most people would meet the same fate.

Hearing Leo's words to the old shopkeeper, Harold suddenly smiled: "Listening to your words, you're prepared to accept my challenge?"

Leo didn't answer him. He looked Harold in the eyes and said, "Going onto the martial arena, regardless of life and death, if you win, I will naturally dispose of you." Then what happens if I win?"

"If you win, Haha, that's the funniest joke I've ever heard. Do you think that your strength is enough to beat me?" Harold couldn't help but laugh loudly. But after remembering the old shopkeeper's prior warning, his laughter quieted down. But his face still had ridicule on it, not disappearing in the slightest.

"Let's not talk about you winning. If you can force me to make three moves, I'll let you dispose of me. How's that?" Harold said it jokingly as he watched Leo. He was body-refining at the fourth level and also learned that the family inherited the martial skill Dragon Seizing Hand. From his point of view, without three moves, even if there was just one, he'd be able to beat Leo to the ground.

"Be disposed of by me?" Leo couldn't help but laugh: "I have no interest in your life."

"You sure speak a lot of nonsense. Then tell me, What do you want?" Harold's face was full of impatience. He couldn't wait to set foot in the martial arts arena right now and personally beat Leo into a dead dog.

"If I win, I want a hundred taels of gold. How about that?" Leo finally put forward his demand.

He wouldn't start a quarrel with Harold without a solid reason. He required a hundred taels of money to purchase the ferocious wolf blood. With only him and Alden, they couldn't generate so much money in such a short amount of time, and Harold was one of the Whitaker family's offspring. He should be able to come up with one hundred taels of gold.

"Hmph, don't speak of a hundred taels of gold. As long as you can withstand three moves, I can even give you two hundred taels." Harold icily said.

"Alright! Two hundred taels it is; we have a deal!" Leo quickly said. It seemed like there were so many generous people, and they were even anxious to give away their money.

Harold was astonished. He had only stated it lightly. He had not anticipated that Leo would whack the snake with a stick. For him, 200 taels was no longer a little sum. Even today, the money he brought is less than 200 taels.

Leo, however, quickly stopped worrying because he believed that his or her success would determine the need for it. Could he lose to Leo?

"Two hundred taels it is. Let's go!" Harold responded. He brought his servants and set off first.
