"Ding!"
The fourth round of the test officially began.
Lin summoned a third skeleton warrior in front of him. The three skeletons charged at level 9 and level 13 monsters, killing each with a single strike. It was a one-sided battle, with the monsters being instantly killed without any suspense.
"Vroom!"
A flicker of firelight in Lin's palm sent a flame onto the head of a mage monster at the back, killing it instantly as well. From the start of the test, it took less than three seconds—practically the blink of an eye. Nine wolf orc warriors and one wolf orc mage were almost instantaneously defeated.
"Gasp!"
The spectators gasped in surprise at Lin's third summon. "How many of those does he have?" questioning why he hadn't used it earlier and remarking on his tendency to keep his abilities hidden. Ning Xuanfeng appeared unsurprised by the turn of events. Lin, feeling unchallenged by the so-called big test, found it less exciting than his first time entering a mine dungeon in the Western Sea. A look of dissapointment lingered on his hace as he found no thrill in the test and even started eating a sweet potato, feeling bored.
Others lost interest in watching Lin, finding more excitement in watching others. Xia Xue, a mage, created a path of fire that harmed pursuing wolf orcs. She utilized level 10 mage skills effectively, showcasing her prowess with area of effect attacks. Zuo Mei, a rogue, had a harder time due to a lack of crowd control abilities, focusing on taking down enemies one by one. Wang Zihao maintained a grand fighting style with his two-handed sword, providing a spectacle with every swing.
As the fourth round progressed, monsters appeared in waves of ten every minute. Those who were slow started to face increasing numbers of monsters, leading some to give up after being overwhelmed. Being eliminated in the fourth round was seen as honorable, as participants were considered talented enough to enter top imperial colleges.
Gao Yang, Lin's friend, boasted about Lin's capabilities, especially recounting how they completed a nightmare-level dungeon in ten minutes. However, his claims were met with skepticism.
As the test progressed, only five participants remained: Lin, Xia Xue, Left Mei, Wang Zihao, and a new character, Feng Xiu, a level 15 Paladin. The examiners paid close attention to Feng Xiu, noting his effective and agile fighting style despite being under the radar until now.
Wang Zihao eventually activated his berserk mode during the seventh wave of monsters, significantly increasing his power but at the risk of becoming weakened afterwards. His strategy was to use the berserk mode to quickly clear the remaining monsters within the five-minute window, showcasing a calculated approach to the challenge.
