Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Lin's Tedious Exam

Without hesitation, Wang Zihao chose the hell difficulty. In his mind, defeating a monster at hell difficulty equated to the effort needed to kill five at the normal level. Plus, he had supreme confidence in his combat abilities. "That kid who took first place in the first round, don't think you can beat me this round," he thought, gripping his giant war blade, his weapon of choice for his profession.

"Ah, someone chose the hell difficulty," noted the examiners as they observed Wang Zihao's selection.

"Wang Zihao, 16th level, Berserker," they observed. "Not bad, berserkers are strong even among the rare professions."

"Given their sustained combat capabilities, he should perform well in this round," they speculated, approving his choice.

After some thought, Xia Xue chose the normal difficulty. Elemental mages aren't suited for close combat or soloing high-intensity monsters without a tank. Thus, aiming to win by numbers, she opted for the normal level. As the third-place holder from the first round, Xia Xue also caught the examiners' attention, who approved of her decision as smart for her situation.

The second-placer from the first round, Zuo Mei, opted for hell difficulty, drawing the examiners' interest. "As a rare profession assassin class, the rogue has exceptional close combat abilities. Whether choosing nightmare or hell difficulty, both were suitable options for her," they commented, praising her potential.

All eyes were now on Lin, awaiting his choice. Having heard the rules, Lin made his judgment. "This round is a real test of sustained combat capability. Thirty minutes of continuous fighting puts pressure on any profession," he thought. "But not for me." A slight smile graced his lips as Lin made his choice. "I choose hell difficulty." For him, the higher the difficulty, the better, given his top-tier abilities.

"Expected, he chose hell difficulty," laughed an examiner. "As a mage and a summoner, he won't fear monsters approaching closely thanks to his summons. And with his strong skills, he should excel even at hell difficulty."

Lin, bored by the ease of the challenge, quickly figured out the spawn rate of the monsters. He realized that every five seconds after killing a monster, another would appear. This round aimed to test the continuous combat ability of each profession, which for Lin, seemed too straightforward.

The examiners were astounded by the strength of Lin's summons. "How can Lin's summons be so powerful?" they marveled. "More powerful than any summoner's creatures we've seen before."

As Lin found the test tedious with his two skeleton warriors easily dispatching monsters as they appeared, the examiners shifted their attention to other contestants. Xia Xue wielded her staff, efficiently managing her spells to minimize mana expenditure. Though her challenge seemed less monotonous compared to Lin's, it was clear Lin's unique approach to the test set him apart from the rest.
