Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

The sheets under my body felt warm and fresh as I stirred awake. A cold breeze ran across my body as I sat up. White sheets surrounded me as I pulled myself out of the bed. There was a large window, almost 7 ft wide, situated on one wall of the room that ushered what seemed to be a balcony. The rays of the sun penetrated into the room, bringing a sense of warmth despite the cold breeze. I felt my head pounding and I tried to recollect what had happened the previous night.

Looking down at myself I realized I was still in my yesterday clothes and I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. The last thing I had wanted was the mistake of a one night stand that had brought me into this situation to begin with.

' I see you're awake.' A masculine voice sounded from the other side of the door as I turned and looked. Jackson was standing right across with nothing but a towel around his waist. his body was dripping with water but that did nothing to help how incredibly attractive he was. Maybe I hadn't noticed it or maybe I was trying my best to not think about it. Yet the truth remained, he was attractive.

He always was.

' Can you at least put some clothes on?' I scoffed angrily.

' This is my house. You don't get to give me orders.' his voice was filled with irritation as he walked across the room. I pulled myself out of the bed and began trying to find my shoes. I didn't want to be in the same room with him.

' What's wrong? A little shy?' He teased, 'You were not shy the first time we slept together.' My eyes met his in an instance as a blush crept up my face.

' What happened between us that night was a mistake.'

' And you believe that?' I looked at him with indignation. I hated his arrogance.

' Every girl who gets a taste of me doesn't seem to get enough. I mean look at you, blushing all the way to your eyes and not being able to keep them from me.' My fists clenched as I tore my eyes from his. The last thing I wanted was to have thought I was head over heels for him.

' I have much better things to do.' I responded and to which he laughed.

' And what's? Are you going to go back to your shity job?' His insult to my livelihood was disgusting.

' Not everyone is a spoiled arrogant Brat. Some of us actually want to work hard for what we have.' I found my phone at the bedside table and I picked it up before turning it on. A board of notification sounds entered as I looked down, realizing that I received several calls from my parents.

A flicker of hope entered my mind as I dialed their number to return the call. it rang only three times before my mother picked it up.

' Are you alright?'

'Yes Mum, I am alright.' I answered, feeling confused.

' Your father and I were worried about you. We have been calling you the entire night. Did you go home with that billionaire?' Her voice almost sounded excited. I paused for a moment, unsure of what to say.

' You can come back home. Everything is going to be alright. Your father and I, ..we are going to support you through this. You're a part of this family and we will not push you away.' She said, her voice calm and collected. All of it sounded so unreal. My parents were always final on every decision they made.

' Please Hannah, my father's voice boomed into the telephone, causing goosebumps to rise all over my skin. That wasn't a word he had ever used before. We didn't realize that the father of your baby was a famous billionaire. 'Come back home your brothers and sister miss you.'

' Will you be my girlfriend?' Jackson's voice pummeled through the room.

'Is that him?' My parents asked collectively, after hearing his voice.

'I have to call you back.' I stated, as I cut the call immediately.

' What the hell do you think you're doing? Are you trying to ruin my life as well?'

' What do you mean? I'm not doing anything.' I walked up to him in a fit of rage yet that arrogant smirk was still on his face.

' Asking me to be your girlfriend just so my parents would hear it. Why are you trying to embarrass me?'

' I wasn't joking.' He let out, meeting my eyes. My brows furrow as I stare at him. I tried to find the joke behind his words yet his stern expression doesn't help it.

' Come on. it's not that difficult. Be my girlfriend. Well not my real girlfriend, of course.' he laughed and I couldn't see the joke. I stared at him, feeling disgusted by his words.

' I don't understand what you're playing at but I'll take my leave now.' I put my phone into my back pocket before proceeding to head out of the room. He followed closely behind me.

' Come on. I'm offering you a good deal. You and I need each other. Become my pretend girlfriend and you get to have your life back.'

I stopped in my tracks as his words sank through me.

' What do you mean? I asked hesitantly.

'Well your parents kicked you out because they believed you were pregnant with the baby of a low life. From that call, it's obvious that they want you back because of my money and my status.'

' That's not true.' I argued. 'My parents are…'

' Darling, you don't need to defend them. They are like every other normal human being. When money comes into the conversation, dignity goes out.' I clenched my fist as I stared at him, taking a step back. I hated all his assumptions. I hated the way he looked at me as if I was only here for his money. I wanted to slap him in the face and just walk out of here. Yet the truth was that I was backed to a corner. and he was offering a deal of a lifetime.

'What do you suggest?' I already knew that I was getting myself into big trouble.

' Well,' he started, ' My father needs to believe that I am in a stable and responsible relationship. I get to inherit the company in a few months and for me to keep that position, I need to prove to my father that I'm not some childish womanizer who ruins his reputation.'

' Of course,' I rolled my eyes, ' That doesn't seem like you.' I coughed shrugging my shoulders.

'However,' He continued, ignoring my remarks.. ' You also need me. You have school don't you? I know everything about you. You're studying law at the University of California. You are hardly able to afford your studies. I can help pay for your tuition fees alongside the tuition of your two other siblings back at home. I can help you live a relatively comfortable life in the exchange of faking a happy relationship with me for the good of our unborn baby. We both get what we want out of this.'

What do you say?' He asked, as I looked up at him. Was I going to take the deal?
