Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

' I mean, if you ask me, what you have is a problem other people wish they had.' Jackie scoffed, as she smiled mischievously and handed me a bowl of cereal.

'You don't understand Jackie, I don't want the car.' Jackie looked at me before shrugging her shoulders and rolling her eyes.

' Anyone would want that car. I know that you have principles but you can at least get something out of these. You've decided to keep the baby right?' I turned my head to look at her, hating that question.

'That was never a doubt. I'm keeping this baby and I'm not going to change my mind about that.'

' Then you have nothing to worry about.' Jackie settled right next to me. Unlike how she had been the previous time, she changed. She was kind towards the whole thing. She wasn't spending every waking moment insulting and belittling the billionaire. She had in fact taken a liking to him.

' Anyone would be lucky to become the girlfriend of a billionaire. Now you're getting paid to do it and you are also going to give birth to another billionaire.'

' Jackie , come on, it's not hereditary.'

' I know I know, but I'm just saying that if he's rich then he's also going to make sure you live rich. Your kid is going to have the best education. they're going to grow up around rich people and they're going to be taken care of. I mean look at him. He's going to take over his father's company and that's a multi millionaire deal. You scored the jackpot Hannah and it's time you start acting like it.'

I placed down my cereal bowl and walked towards the window. pushing open the curtains just a little I peeped outside before saying and turning back around.

'Are they still there?' Jackie laughed. 'yep. They have been camped outside ever since my argument with Jackson. and I don't think they're going anywhere.'

' Then you better get used to it.' She Shrugged and I couldn't help but feel nervous. Jackson Miller got on my nerves. not only had he forced the present of an expensive car on me but now he was releasing me and a protective detail. his bodyguards will come right outside our hotel and they had refused to leave over the past 2 days. I felt like a child.

' Have you already signed it?' Jackie asked and to which my face peeled. I had avoided the contract document on top of the table for 2 days now. I glanced at it the first time it came and it scared me. The clauses stated an uncomfortable situation I was unwilling to confront.

' Not yet.'

' Then what are you waiting for?' She asked and to which I laughed uncomfortably. This is a life-changing decision and I just want to make sure I'm not making any mistakes.

' You've had enough time to make that decision. I support you fully and you were right. This is the best shot you've got at not losing everything. With Jackson, you get to keep your education while taking care of the baby. Your siblings are taken care of, Hannah, what more could you want?'

Suddenly my phone rang causing me to startle. I had been jumpy over the past few days. My hormones were only getting worse and any little thing irritated me. Pulling my phone out of my back pocket, I proceeded to slide my finger over the little screen and then brought it to my ears.

' Mother?' I tried my best to make my tone calm and not panicky.

'There's someone here to see you.' she answered with slight excitement.

'Who?' Jackie met my eyes in an instance.

' The billionaire.' my mother answered, causing blood to drain from my face.

'I'm coming.' I chanted as I cut the call and picked up my sweater immediately.

'What , what? Where are you going?'

' God I can't believe that bastard.' I cursed as I opened the door and put on my sandals.

' What did he do now?' Jackie laughed.

' He's over at my parents house.' I let out and Jackie stared at me with an equally shocked expression. She walked me out the door and I ran down the flight of stairs, my heart pounding in my chest and anger babbling through my skin.

I was going to kill him

***

There were two suvs parked outside our house. The neighbors, as nosey as they always were, had camped outside trying to get a piece of action on what was going on inside. I was confused. I knew little about Jackson but this was still bizarre. While he preferred luxury cars and more of a flashy in-your-face lifestyle, the suvs packed outside were not his style.

There are two guards situated at the sides of our entrance, making me feel like I was in the wrong house. As I entered, my mother had just been placing a tray of freshly made baileys on the table before she saw me. She walked up to me hugging me before speaking out loud that my lovely daughter is home. My father, who was seated at the far corner of the sofa, looked up while his eyes lit up with excitement. They were acting strained. I looked around trying to catch sight of Jackson yet I couldn't see him anywhere.

'Where is he?' I asked, already planning to give him a piece of my mind.

' I don't believe we have officially met.' A hoarse masculine voice spoke out loud as the man who had been sitting on our single sofa got up and turned to meet me.

He stretched his hand and shook mine, a hint of familiarity behind his eyes.

' Sorry?'

' Aha, you don't know me?' he asked you a little bit irritated.

' Come on dear. Don't disrespect the billionaire. This is…' He raised his hand to stop my mother talking and she acted like a dumb puppet. I already didn't like this man or his arrogance.

'I am Jackson's father. My name is Michael Miller.'

Realization strikes me as a wave of panic enters my brain. I shake his hand, feeling rather uncomfortable as the world begins to swell around me. I wasn't ready. The contract clearly stated that I would meet his father only after Jackson and I had made a public appearance and made a name for ourselves as the new couple in the eyes of the media. I wasn't good with my parents.

' You're surprised. Do you not know anything about your boyfriend?' he asked with a tinge of irritation.

' I ..i am..' I could barely find the words. Suddenly there was the sound of tires screeching against the Tarmac Road outside, drawing the attention of everyone.

I walked towards our entrance only to find Jackson quickly packing his car at the side of the road before he rushed over. It was the first time that I felt relieved to see him. He entered the compound in a jiffy, sharing familiar glances with the scary men his father had come with.

All my siblings had been present and seated right next to my dad, well behaved and quiet. However, I knew them enough to know that they were uncomfortable. We all were.

' Dad! What is the meaning of this?' Jackson asked as he entered the house.

' Jackson, it is a pleasure to meet you.' my father said as he stretched his hand towards Jackson. I hated how he behaved. My parents were acting differently. Jackson shook his hand briefly before returning his attention back to his father.

' What do you mean? you wanted me to meet her didn't you?'

' Dad this is not the way. Let's just go back home and talk about this.' Jackson said with a rushed and nervous tone. He was sweating and he kept brushing his hands against the back of his neck. but I have never seen him so uncomfortable.

' Why? What's the rush? I just wanted to meet the whore that's trying to trap my son.' he said, and the whole house fell silent
