"I'm sorry," Kalina immediately apologized, her head lowered. She wasn't in the mood to argue or risk angering Dominique.
Dominique smiled at her, noticing her in one of his shirts again. Lately, she'd been raiding his side of the closet more often, using their growing friendship as an excuse.
His smile quickly faded, replaced by concern. He hadn't expected to find Kalina looking so vulnerable. He'd anticipated some playful banter about her ice cream spree, but she resembled a dejected puppy instead. It didn't suit her, and he felt compelled to lift her spirits.
