"Bloody hell, Cherry," Dominique winced, blocking his ears with both palms as Kalina's eyes followed the movements of his hands. "I thought we had moved past waking me up with a scream, or do I have to re-place an order for an earplug?" he asked, clearly disliking the wakeup call.
But Kalina didn't respond. Instead, she rushed towards him and straddled him, not noticing the discomfort her innocent action was causing him.
She pulled his hands under her scrutiny, her gaze fixed on the bruise on his knuckles that looked raw, painful, and definitely untreated.
"Oh, this," Dominique said, realization dawning as he subtly adjusted her so she wasn't directly positioned on his morning wood. "You should see the other guy," he tried to joke.
Kalina shot him a glare, clearly not joining in his humor.
"What happened? Did you get into a fight?" she asked, running her fingers lightly over his knuckles as she stared at him, waiting for a response.
