"Uwaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!"
Jason's war cry spread out over the whole neighbourhood as he breathed hard with his eyes over Jake on the ground with shivering arms.
"Huff! Huff!"
His breathing was absolutely unstable with all the beatings he received throughout the fight, but at the same time, after the fight, he had awakened the 'courage' lying dormant all his life.
"F-fuck..."
"This can't be real..."
"That fucking bastard!"
Jake's friends on the ground had their souls snatched as they saw this scenery; their faces darkened in absolute shock as shivers ran down their spines.
"Leave!"
"Fuck!"
"R-run away!"
They immediately escaped the place while grabbing their hurting body parts. Lucas took a glance over Jake, and while shaking his head, his eyes moved over to Jason.
'It's indeed true that Jake had been learning boxing for 5 years, but at the same time he was an average and quite untalented one too. On the other hand, Jason somehow managed to gain endurance more than a trained boxer. Guess the beating he took for all this time increased his stamina and endurance without him knowing; his body is undoubtedly a gifted one...'
As Lucas analysed this, a spark flashed through his gaze without him knowing. Next, he immediately shook his head, tightened up his helmet on the bike, and, turning towards Jason, he commanded with a smile.
"Well then, go find some good martial arts gyms and start training there."
"You are leaving Hyung?"
Jason, finally coming out of his daze of celebration, moved his gaze towards Lucas, who was ready to set over his bike. Lucas just nodded and explained
"Kids like him will lay low for a few days after defeat, but there will come a time when they won't be able to endure the humiliation and come fight again. You are untrained, and it's not necessary to have one-on-one right on the streets like this time. You will grow up fast within just a month or two; better train than get ass whooped."
Lucas said that he closed off his glasses on his helmet and, igniting the engine, left the place, while Jason followed by the start of the bike engine and immediately bowed straight in his direction, shivering with that grateful attitude.
"That's for guidance! Lucas Hyung nim!!!"
"Mhm~"
Lucas just gave a nod and vanished from the territory as Jason also picked up his backpack he had placed there before hand and, with a new smile, left the place, leaving Jake knocked over on the same ground.
*Thump! Thump! Thump!*
"...!"
The noise of Lucas's bike was heard outside the house yet again as Ethan, already present inside, raised his eyebrows in an outside direction as Lucas opened up the door, making his way inside while removing the shoes at the door steps.
"Wussup geek?"
Lucas teased Ethan with a grin on his face, but Ethan, on the other hand, seemed colder and more unsocial towards Lucas than this morning; he didn't say a word, and while ignoring Lucas, he quietly turned towards the kitchen as if Lucas never existed.
'... I thought we opened up a bit this morning'
Lucas was struck by a sudden behaviour change. It was much more than just an unusual change in behaviour; it felt like the light memories had been burdened beneath some heavy darkness.
'Or maybe I'm just overthinking? It's been just a day; acting like it's already been the bond of eternity would be weird...'
Lucas tried not to overthink this matter and quietly grabbed a water bottle from the refrigerator. He just quietly moved upstairs without any more words, and as he opened up his room door upstairs, yet another trouble was awaiting him.
"Ah heck... I forgot I had organised all this too."
Lucas sighed as his gaze fell over all those bags of clothes and daily life necessities he had brought this morning to the shopping mall where he met Jason in the morning.
"Sigh..."
Lucas saw his stuff lying around his bed and even on the ground, and many were actually quite dedicated items and equipment.
"Let's see..."
Lucas started to remove the wrapping from all these items. He started with the heavy ones that required thorough examination while being placed, and it would be harder after removing all the wrapping from all the items and turning the whole room into a sea of cardboard and sheets.
Lucas first proceeded with the computer set up; he was no doubt a nerd in this one. He had brought out the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X computer CPU, known for its 16 cores and 32 threads. The Ryzen 9 5950X provides excellent multi-core performance, making it suitable for gaming and productivity tasks, along with triple-curved screen monitors. The Samsung Odyssey G9 is known for its large 49-inch display, high refresh rate, and QLED technology, making it a top choice for gamers seeking an immersive experience.
'And that is exactly what it reeks of heaven! It was a good idea to have it delivered right away!!!'
Lucas grinned as he placed all of these things. He had asked for delivery along with the timing of the purchase. He placed all the digital equipment himself over the desk besides the window over at the corner and also took his time placing a few simple designs and arts as decorations inside the room and drilling up nails on the wall to place his decorations there. He then placed his things in the wall cupboard already in the room, and now he was fully set in his room.
"Then let's see! I must have missed a few seasons this time; was it summers when I stopped?"
Lucas smirked and opened up his computer, and the moment he opened up the screen, there was a new panel over the screen, which he had never asked for.
"Software Update! Gawdammit!!! Too many obstacles for something this easy!!!"
Lucas cursed but still proceeded to place his hand over the screen to proceed with the update. Meanwhile, Lucas just stared black on his ceiling inside the room, thinking up the things that happened in just a few days in Korea.
'Was it right though? That Jason kid, through his potential, will he be able to bloom it? He was on the verge of suicide already. I indeed gave him that hope to live with, but what if that hope is like a bone too hungry to drag him deeper into despair?
He is now hopeful, but if someone crushes that hope of his again, will he be able to live through it? That would be much crueller than simply letting him die, wouldn't it? Am I just trying to avoid responsibility here again, wanting to rest, or can he actually live through that? Or
Maybe just overthink simple things again! I gave him a chance to live; he can decide where he will fall or endure to rise higher!'
Lucas just moved away from his thoughts with a mischievous smirk, and suddenly his gaze fell over his desk, where he placed the computer. A cupboard under the desk was slightly leaning forward, while the other one was perfectly set beneath the base.
'A secret chamber under the desk... Wow! Did Ethan used to hide porno in here?
Lucas grinned as he immediately stood from his gaming chair, and after a bit of inspection and moving around here and there, he finally unlocked the secret chamber beneath the desk.
'The mechanism is fucking ancient! But anyways!'
Lucas immediately slid out that secret chamber under his desk, and as he did, he found just a simple notebook or diary inside, and as he opened it up, it introduced Ethan as its owner.
'Did he like things like this, the date? It's from his high school from when he was 17, huh?
Lucas sniggered seeing the weird emoji and cute figures Ethan has drawn on the front page of his diary. It was an amusing sensation. Lucas wasn't aware of much of Ethan's life here in this place, hence the diary like this where Ethan wrote the incidents of his life was a jackpot to him.
'He must at least have had a girl friend in his days, right? I never asked, maybe he still has one? Fuck am I thinking? It's just been a day. I really have this bad behaviour of poking too much in other people's lives...'
Lucas sighed and started flipping through the pages, learning about the life he wanted to know the most.
'My family vanished one day when I was 2 years old in this world. It was said he had some sort of rare autoimmune disorder, which led to his immune system being weak along with symptoms of his hair turning white and grey.
Because of this, he caught up with diseases quite easily. They took him to France, known for its great healthcare system, for treatment, while I, for some reason, was left here with my grandparents from the father side.
Just after 3 days of landing in France, my parents were suddenly declared'missing' and then 'presumed dead' because involvement in some gang war there in that country, and my brother was declared missing. Well, that doesn't matter now, as I have no sense of unity or bond with them. I consider my grandparents my entire family now.
They took charge of my education while I was enduring the grief of my parents's deaths. The more I get older, the more I realise how rough it has been for them to give me this life all alone.
My life here is going well in high school. I moved to Seoul at my parents's house as soon as I started high school. They considered it a bit problematic for me, but I need to start handling my own things myself now, and I even found a job at a convenience store nearby, handling my own expenses by the age of 16.
This is where my life messed things up.'
Lucas's eyes went suddenly chill like a beast, releasing an intent so cold that birds outside didn't even have time to fly properly while escaping the place with the command of their mere instincts, and while grabbing on to his clothes, Lucas coldly lifted up the next page in the diary.
