Chapter 18 - Street Fight Style

"Superman punch..."

Lucas muttered with a grin on his face while removing the mouth guard as Thomas fell right in front, completely knocked down with blood and saliva foaming out of his mouth along with a swollen red face.

"Lucas! Win by KO!!!"

"H-holy shit!!!"

"A pr-Pro! This guy is elite!"

"Damn! That was completely one-sided!"

"Smooth!"

The people watching were all in a state of chaos, cheering like crazy in shock and surprise, and at the same time, the instructors dressed in track suits were seen rushing into the hall with panicked faces, and as they saw Lucas getting down from the ring while removing his hand wraps as Thomas was lying knocked out, they were even more stunned.

Jason's eyes were sparking with admiration and worship as Lucas arrived in front of him, and he immediately started to question

"Hyung! That was awesome! Did you really go pro before!?"

Lucas was amused by Jason's innocence, and while tapping his head, he commented

"Something similar."

"So cool!!!"

Jason's excitement increased even more as he followed right after Lucas towards the training point they had decided on earlier, while the instructors of the gym were all sort of confused by the situation as one of them grabbed one of the gym members and questioned the situation.

"Andre! What the hell happened in here? I heard some guy was messing with newbies here. What the heck is with a random fight here?"

"Instructor!?! Nice timing! I took the video to keep proud of gym violence, but I got something even better!"

The guy was more than happy to show it as he took out his phone, which had taken video of the fight, and presented it in front of the instructor. As the instructors watched the show, their eyes showed more and more shock.

'He's overwhelming; this is different from the level of pro or elite martial artists; it's a pure street fight style; he never took the opponent seriously to begin with; this guy's style is practical on the ground, different from the orthodox way inside the ring.

I have seen it before. After joining the gym as an instructor, I don't want to associate with those kinds of people and make my professional status questionable. It's definitely the style and principles of fighting: efficiency, effectiveness, and mercilessness—the three principals of real fights where a man actually risks his life on the line.

Professional martial artists are definitely skilled with professional training, proper living habits, and a detailed format of living, but there is always a wall for professional fighters; they can't break through it, and their skills and instincts never go beyond that wall.

But from time to time, there are people who break through the wall, and most of them are definitely not people that are pro or something; they actually go around fighting real delinquents and gangsters and hone their skills on the actual battlefield. This guy... He's definitely one of such kinds...'

As the instructor said, his eyes moved towards Lucas, dragging Jason along towards the corner as an enraged frown covered his face, and he immediately dashed towards Lucas.

"Hey! You!!"

He immediately called out Lucas while he was still in the distance. Lucas stopped as he heard the voice from behind, and as he turned back, one of those instructors had a wolf-like beard on his face, not looking particularly old yet walking in his direction at a fast pace.

"Yes?"

Lucas asked while staring in his direction. Jason was also a bit confused seeing that man's enraged face moving in his direction, and as the instructor arrived in front of Lucas, he immediately grabbed Lucas's innerwear's collar over his shoulders, and while pulling Lucas towards himself, he angrily roared in a low voice.

"What the hell do you think you are doing at my gym?"

His voice was low, but it was clearly burning with rage and hatred towards Lucas. Jason was taken by surprise yet again, while Lucas continued to maintain the silence as he replied with a calm tone of voice.

"I brought the membership and am now training this kid here."

"You aren't training! You are destroying his future; why the hell is a street fighter training a high school kid in a professional gym?"

The instructor's enraged voice cut through the post-fight chaos. The instructor questioned while glaring at Lucas and pointing at Jason. Jason tried to step in and explain, but Lucas held him off before he could.

"Then what do you want? The kid needs training, and I'm giving him the training on my own free will."

"The training will destroy his future; you know what you are dragging him into!?"

In the midst of the confrontation, Lucas maintained his silence, his calm demeanour contrasting with the instructor's escalating rage.

"Something where he is already present at the bottom..."

His words lingered in the air, emphasising the underlying theme of resilience and adapting to the challenges of the real world.

As Lucas said, the face of the instructor became more red, and he immediately strengthened his grip over Lucas's collar. With confidence in his technique, he immediately executed the one-arm shoulder throw move from Judo.

As the instructor executed the throw with precision, Lucas's body lifted off the ground. Jason was taken by surprise by how fast the situation was escalating; however, in a split second, Lucas's pupils started to show that beast's glint. With a swift twist and a display of remarkable balance, he countered the throw mid-air. Instead of crashing to the mat, Lucas landed gracefully, surprising both the instructor and the onlookers.

The gym fell silent as the instructor's eyes suddenly widened and his face filled with sweat. His gaze met Lucas's; the aura around him was familiar but far more overwhelming than what he was aware of. The realisation that he was dealing with a fighter whose experience extended beyond the confines of formal martial arts made all confidence from a moment ago go down the drain.

Lucas stood, his aura radiating suppressed wrath, leaving the instructor to reconsider his actions a moment ago. The next second, Lucas grabbed his still-extended arm in mid-air with a swift grip as he commented.

"You are a Judo specialist, huh? Let me show you the way of street fighting."

As Lucas said, he grabbed the instructor's collar and spun him around like they were dancing. With a quick move, he made the instructor fall straight to the ground. It was like skilled choreography, and the thud echoed in the room. It was a pin drop silence as nobody said a word at the moment while the instructor from earlier was left staring blankly over the ceiling.

'What just happened...'

Next second, his gaze met Lucas straightening his clothes as he coldly commented.

"It seems like my street-smart approach just saved me from falling for your biassed predictions. Maybe next time, trust in the actual skills on display rather than preconceived judgements."

As Lucas said that he completely ignored the whole situation and arrived back in front of the dummy where they were training, Jason looked at the instructor, slowly standing up and moving away without saying a word, and muttered

"What's with them? Why was he picking fights?"

"Because he was worried that if I trained you, you would turn into some delinquent and go around fighting others for no reason."

Lucas's instant reply left him stunned and confused as he turned to him with question marks written all over his face. Seeing that look, Lucas sighed and started explaining.

"Here, I'm teaching you street fighting style because it's a realistic approach to bullying. They won't be following any rules out there, and it's all about adaptation and survival instincts. Street fights might seem effective, but they lack the depth of discipline.

There are two reasons a person gets into street fights: survival or a lack of better options. However, keep this in mind: the delinquents and gangsters you see out there are the result of misguided street fighting. What people are learning here is 'professional' martial arts; it goes beyond physical skills. It's about building strength through self-control and discipline.

This training guides them away from the wrong path, making them warriors with character, not just individuals who can throw a punch. If you only know how to throw punches, there's no difference between you and those bullies. Many pros don't like street fighters because they lack discipline, but as you advance, you'll find people with better morals than even professionals. Our goal is to reach that level.

You saw just now right that Thomas is professional, but even then he lacks discipline and morals. Just as there are street fighters who have morals and discipline, it's all about people who are good and bad, not way-fighting.

There is wrong in right, right in wrong, the yin yang law, but well anyways, now focus on maintaining the proper posture."

"Yes!"

Jason immediately followed the command with a little smile over the corner of his face.

'Wrong in right, right in wrong... Then I better be the right guy on the wrong battlefield!'
