If she was that famous to be known then she couldn't be merely the wife of some politician unless it was the president.
Zhao Yuhui's brows raised and she pondered over the face of that lady. She could not be a celebrity. Had she been one, she would have recognised her sooner.
Her general knowledge had never been good but she knew all about the acting industry.
They both shook their heads at the end.
The shop assistant for a very obvious reason was definitely surprised. There were people who knew nothing about them?
She stayed silent for a minute, recalling whether there was some customer-privacy agreement they had signed with her.
However, there seemed to be none. In fact, it was the talk of the town that every month the old lady personally came to this store to pick all the outfits accessorising the wardrobe of such a family.
Because of how serious she looked, Zhao Yuhui and Chen Peiling did not disrupt the silence maintained by the shop assistant. They gave her all the required time.
"She is the head stewardess of Qin's Main Estate."
Q-Qin's ??
"Qin's Main Estate...you mean The Qin's??" Chen Peiling was stupefied.
"You are right...the leading industries of the country." The shop assistant nodded.
That meant she was breathing the same air as Qin's right now? Chen Peiling's eyes went as big as saucers while her mouth was partially hanging.
"To maintain the silence appreciated by Old Stewardess, every month this store is kept closed for customers for an hour. And because it was a given promise, I asked you to wait here."
Qins? Zhao Yuhui might not have recognised the old lady but she had heard of Old Stewardess.
She had been serving the family for over five decades now and was known to be the right-hand of Madam Qin even when she was eldest to her. The trust that Madam Qin had in her, it was said that she didn't have in anyone else.
Not even her husband.
All the responsibilities and ensuring that every single duty of the household was performed well was on Old Stewardess's shoulders.
Taking their shock as worry for having to stay here for long, Shop Assistant spoke. "Don't worry. They won't be here for long. They would inspect the outfits and go."
"Inspect the outfits?"
"For safety reasons?"
Chen Peiling and Zhao Yuhui questioned simultaneously.
"Yes, for safety reasons. In Qin's Main Estate, everything goes through a hard security check before entering, and this includes what they wear too."
"Something kept so close to them physically, it won't make any sense that they would take this matter lightly. That's why they bring a couple of detectors along every time to check that everything's alright."
Zhao Yuhui sat on the couch, "That's ok. We will wait till they go."
"Thank you so much, Miss Zhao. I would be going then as I am needed there. My absence could be taken suspiciously."
"Sure."
The shop assistant bowed and went away.
"Is it weird that I feel so intimidating even when I am not in the closest radars of the Old Stewardess?" Chen Peiling sat with a soft thud on the couch. Her eyes were dazed and her expression looked awed. It was hard to believe that she just saw someone from Qins.
Who had thought that visit to the store would be such a blast?
Zhao Yuhui was immersed in her thoughts when she absentmindedly replied. "It is not."
"She is just a Stewardess and yet she has this kind of aura! Then how about the ones who belong to the Qin's by blood?"
The wonderment pouring out through her assistant's voice made Zhao Yuhui dumbstruck. "You are this much curious about the family that wouldn't even have anything to do with us ever?"
"Yes."
"Why though?"
"Duh, because they are The Qin's."
"..."
Zhao Yuhui was too speechless to make any comment. She picked up the magazine lying on the side table which was the latest edition of Qisz.
One thing had never changed about the covers of this magazine and that was the photo of the founder of the brand. Ever since she could remember, she had always seen Mr Han glamorizing the cover of the magazines.
The man who single-handedly had brought the Qisz from nowhere to the top.
When she was in school, she along with her friend would often go to the bookshop at the end of the street to be able to read these magazines for free. Credit went to her friend for having her mother's best friend as the owner of it. Moreover, that old aunt had always treated them like her own daughters so she never stopped them.
The cover was nostalgic for her. She hadn't met the lady after she moved to this city to find her dreams. Maybe on this visit to her hometown, she would be able to meet her.
Zhao Yuhui flipped the cover to read the magazine. The pages were imprinted with several new dresses, Mr. Han's inspiration for this year's Winter Collection. He went mentioning his wife and children too in his interview; a thing he rarely did.
She was too immersed in it to take notice of the disappearance of Chen Peiling.
Chen Peiling was getting curious of what was happening down. She had thought knowing general information about that lady would be more than enough to vanish her inquisitiveness.
But that didn't seem to be happening. More than that, she could feel her nerves jingling at the thought that she belonged to Qin's. Be it by blood or not, it didn't matter.
When she couldn't take it anymore, she silently went to the landing of the staircase and hid behind the pillar. She tilted her head and looked down but...the place was empty now.
Uh? Where did they go?
She came out of the hiding and bent over the handrail to see properly.
No one was down.
