The familiar voice caused a sob to break out from Chen Peiling's throat. She did not turn because she was scared to look in the eyes of Sister Zhao. She had again caused trouble for her.
"Chen Peiling? What happened? Look at me!" Zhao Yuhui softly patted her shoulders.
"Sister Zhao! I am sorry! I didn't listen to you!" Chen Peiling sobbed and threw herself in the arms of Zhao Yuhui.
Zhao Yuhui reflexively wrapped her arms around the trembling figure. "Ok...but what happened?"
It was when Zhao Yuhui strayed her eyes up that she registered who exactly were the people forming this 'crowd'. The old lady from before was scrutinising Zhao Yuhui up and down.
Zhao Yuhui's eyes went to the shop assistants standing behind the Old Stewardess and at the guards that were standing beside her.
She finally understood what the matter was and that was enough for her to clench her fists in frustration. Chen Peiling!
She threw an excusing look to Chen Peiling and gritted her teeth while speaking as lowly as she could so that it was only among them. "I should have known that you would get into something like this."
The old lady was still having her gaze fixed on her when Zhao Yuhui decided to walk forward and stopped when there was a small distance left. Distance enough to maintain the personal space.
"Good evening, Madam. I am Zhao Yuhui and the lady...whom you met is Chen Peiling, my assistant." Zhao Yuhui introduced herself as she stared in the eye of the Old Stewardess.
The stoic face of the old lady made her appear extremely strict and that made her nervous too. She had never been in acquaintance with powerful people so she was not sure what was the correct way to address them. And for that reason, she decided to talk professionally.
Unknowingly, her voice was oozing impressive confidence, unlike her condition. The confidence enough to make others feel amused and not irritated.
Maybe this natural demeanour was the result of the hardships she faced in the past three years from where she learnt that confidence could bring one out from every problem.
Not getting any response to her introduction, Zhao Yuhui smiled lightly. "I realise my assistant might have done some mistake for her to be standing like this here. And I would like to apologise on her part since responsibility befell on me."
"We weren't conscious of time while shopping and hence didn't realise that we had been here for time more than it was permitted. My assistant is a very curious person who is inquisitive about almost everything and earlier when we saw you, she grew excited to see you here and that must be the reason why she came down."
"I might not be aware of what she did when I was not here but I could assure you that there was no ill intent behind it. But if she troubled you, let me apologise at her place again." Saying this, Zhao Yuhui bowed deeply.
Straight to the point. Neither she bluffed around nor reacted irrelevantly! Though there was a shiver in her voice, the calmness in her eyes did not let it highlight.
Looking at the girl bowing in front of her, something flashed across Old Stewardess's eyes. However, that didn't take even a second before extinguishing.
After a long while, she threw a last look at Zhao Yuhui and her assistant before moving past them.
Zhao Yuhui saw the feet under her vision making a movement and getting out of her sight. She stood straight and watched the back of Old Stewardess who was now out of the store. In a second, the small crowd had disappeared.
The shop Manager trailed behind Old Stewardess and hesitantly called, "Old Stewardess, what about the ones in the store?" Even if she did not say anything, she still had to be sure that Old Stewardess was not doing anything about this matter.
"Irrelevant." And as soon as she said it, Old Stewardess got into the car and was out from the scene. Only a single car was left behind in which the attires were to be taken.
The word came out as the most gentle word to the shop manager. It couldn't be wrong to say that she hated dramas. Because every time such kind of thing would happen, her heart would be at her throat till it dissipated.
Zhao Yuhui blankly looked at the shop manager who came back after having a small chat with Old Stewardess and asked. "What about us?"
"You guys must have been scared to death, it's alright even I was feeling the same. Don't worry, she was not offended." The shop manager patted the shoulder of Chen Peiling while sighing with great relief.
Wherein Chen Peiling almost got onto her knees because of the sudden overwhelm, Zhao Yuhui frowned. "Just like that?"
The shop manager knew why she was thinking like that so analysed the situation for her, "As strict Old Stewardess is, she is not an unreasonable person. Maybe she found your apology genuine, or you might not have done something that extreme in her eyes to scold you."
Zhao Yuhui nodded absentmindedly, "If everything is done, we too should go now. Thank You for the assistance today."
"Anytime. We were glad to have you here."
"And sorry to cause trouble today."
"Don't worry about that, Miss Zhao! We are used to that by now." The shop manager laughed as she shooed the apology with her hand. She was in her mid-forties and at this age had already lost the yearning of youth to pick up fights over small topics. Now she saw things from a bigger angle.
That's why she was much calmer than the younger shop assistants who in their hearts were scolding them for bringing such a fright to them.
"Alright." Zhao Yuhui did not say anymore and moved to fetch their bags from the second floor.
Zhao Yuhui ignored Chen Peiling.
But Chen Peiling was not in the condition to speak anything, so she meekly bent her head and went to take the car out of parking. After all, she had again gone against Sister Zhao's words.
On the second floor, Zhao Yuhui swept one last look to see if she forgot something before going down.
Behind her, the unread magazine was still lying on the table with the first page on display. The cold yet handsome face of a young man in his early twenties graced the page.
Filling up the empty spaces on the page were various phrases designed in stylish fonts like The Future of Qin's...The Only Son Of President Qin...Young Master Qin.
