"Miss Trivedi?" Cody called out when he was greeted with silence.
Normally, if it was a normal guest, the problem would not have to be relayed to their boss. But this was Christopher Kewl, he was previously dating Kareena. It was obvious that it was a personal and delicate problem. Only she had to handle this.
She shut her eyes in an attempt to surpress annoyance. "What is security doing?"
"Uh... Well, he came as a customer..."
"Under a reservation?"
"I didn't check."
"Put him on the blacklist", she ordered and hang up.
It didn't matter whose son he was, who he was dating, or if he made a reservation, Christopher Kewl was no longer welcome. Cody shook his head, his boss's backbone must be made of steel for sure. With that thought, he conveyed the message to the reception.
Kareena was baffled, what on Earth was this man's deal? Was he really trying to win her over? Pathetically too? Curious, she dialed for security.
"Connect me to the reception's feed", she said.
"Right away, ma'am."
Within seconds, the footage of Christopher being carried out by security started to show on her monitor. He was wriggling his body and swinging his legs in an undignified manner and shouting.
He held up both his middle fingers at those with their phones held out in his direction. She didn't have to be there to hear the curses running out of his mouth causing onlookers to watch with horrified faces.
Kareena grimaced at the sight and quickly disconnected from the feed. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to erase the horrid image she just saw. A vibration and the sound of her ringing phone caused her to open her eyes. She felt a headache coming on seeing the caller ID.
With a swipe of a finger, she declined the call. In the next second, her phone started to ring again. Declined. Again, it started to ring.
"This man", she muttered against his persistence. She declined and blocked him, not wanting any more distractions.
Silence soon followed in the room except for the sound of the news anchors going on about current events. She easily redirected her focus and attention to her work.
Ring!
Did she not block his number five minutes ago? Her brows furrowed at this thought as she looked over at the caller ID only for her brows to relax. She answered and put it on speaker.
"There are two moments where I absolutely CANNOT tolerate interruptions: when I'm binge watching Singles' inferno or when I'm training newbies", May's voice resounded, oozing with obvious irritation.
May was someone who took her entertainment as seriously as her work. She could not afford any slacking when doing either, that was her bottom line and it seemed someone crossed it.
"What happened?"
"Tell me why Christopher Kewl is blowing up my phone with calls and messages saying I need to help him talk to you while I'm training newbies?!"
Now he's going through her best friend? Could this man be any more annoying?
"Block him."
"Gladly."
Kareena sighed feeling bad for having interrupted May's work. "Sorry."
"Yeah, set me up with Cody", she said instead. Kareena could picture the smirk on her face.
"Nice try."
"Damn it", she grumbled and hang up.
Kareena's lips involuntarily curved up but the smile soon disappeared when she thought of what Chris was doing. This man was really testing her. Should she unblock him and tell him off? Again?
'No', she mused with a shake of her head. She had gotten her message across loud and clear, she did not want to have anything to do with-
Ring!
Her brows went up when she took in the FaceTime caller ID. This had to be a coincidence... otherwise, why would they call in the middle of their busy schedule?
"Hey girlfriend!!" A cheery voice belonging to a woman with long blonde hair greeted Kareena's view. She adorned a satin robe while hands with makeup tools worked on her face and some worked on her hair while she spoke.
"Hey, Cassie, is everything alright? Aren't you in the middle of a shoot?" Kareena's brows furrowed with worry.
"Well", she chuckled. "I hear you blacklisted Chris from your restaurant."
"Did he call you too? Ugh! I need to talk to Frankie and Kennie before he gets to them." She took another deep breath. This man was really trying her.
"What's going on with you guys?" Cassie asked, seriously.
"Nothing for you to worry about. Just don't take his calls, block him if you must."
"Okay. But besides that, is everything is alright?"
"Mm. And you? How's the shoot going?"
"For the movie? We wrapped up last week. I'm in Country F for fashion week. I can't believe I'll miss out on the President's son tomorrow!!" She whined.
"Why? Were you supposed to meet him?"
"Of course! At the Met Gala! Everyone is talking about it!"
"Oh." So that's what has been making the headlines lately.
"He's literally eye candy!" She squealed! "I think I would die happy if I ended up with a man like him or even just one night with him! Like have you seen him?"
"No", she chuckled softly at Cassie's fangirling. "Anyway, don't forget what I said about Chris. Ignore him."
"Sure. And that's your 'I need to get back to work' tone. So I'll let you", she sulked, making Kareena chuckle. "I'll see you soon!"
"Sure. Take care."
The video call came to an end and she opted for text messages for the other two ladies. She did not want to deal with another call of complaint. If anything, it was now becoming embarrassing than annoying.
Kareena: Ignore Christopher.
Her phone soon chimed twice.
Frankie: Alrightie boss!
Kendra: K!
Her phone chimed again, indicating a new message.
Frankie: But we have him to thank, your restaurant is trending again lol
