"Jamie!" Nate yelled. "Jamie!" He kept on calling. Nate dragged himself across the void land of the South Wing, chasing after Jamie.
He looked around the abyss, she wasn't in sight. Nate turned when he heard footsteps behind him, it was Paige. She was frightened and clutched her shoulders to give herself warmth. "Have you seen Jamie?" Nate asked.
Paige shook her head. But she stretched out her arms and waved it slowly around her. Suddenly, the area became brighter for a brief moment, giving the components around a hint of colour. They could spot Jamie afar, seated on the ground and gripping her legs. Nate gave an appreciative nod at Paige, her abilities; colourization and deception came in handy.
"Jamie!" Nate howled again as he ran towards her. He tried to touch her by the shoulder, but she slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch me," she hissed. Jamie looked up at Paige who just arrived, she stood up and hugged her. "Are you okay?" She asked Paige.
"Yeah," Paige replied, squeezing herself to Jamie like she was her daughter. Paige glanced around them and she asked, "Now what?"
"Now, we survive and find our way out of here," Jamie answered, cuddling Paige's cheek. Nate tried to touch Jamie again, renewing his presence that has been ignored but she gave him a deadly glare.
"I'm sorry Jamie! I got carried away, you can't blame me-" he tried to say.
"I can't blame you?! I can't blame you?! Are you fucking kidding me?!" Jamie gave an ironic chuckle and smile. "You almost killed her for no good reason!"
"Well the bitch deserved what she got!" Nate snapped back so loudly and towered himself over Jamie. "She deserved what she got! She can't keep running her mouth, she always deserved it!" Nate finished, his eyes wide with anger.
Jamie looked at him straight in the eye, slowly, shifting Paige to her back, away from Nate. "What did I say when the Director put us on this task?" She asked quietly. When Nate didn't respond and he just stared at her, she screamed, "I said what did I say when we got on the fucking jet!?"
Nate relaxed himself and licked his lips, their eyes fixed. "That you didn't want to activate your abilities," he stated.
Jamie cocked her head, her hair was tattered unlike the usual. She nodded, "And...?"
Nate looked away from her cold gaze. "You wanted me to handle things and make it go smoothly."
Jamie nodded her head slowly and repeatedly, "Good, good. And what has happened now?" She asked, gesturing her arms to the endless vacancy.
Nate didn't respond. He placed his gaze a few inches beside Jamie's, not able to bear her scolding.
Jamie continued, "You know how I feel when I use my blood manipulation Nate! You know!" She declared, poking at his chest.
"But Abby-" Nate tried to complain again.
"Sometimes, you shouldn't just think about yourself alone," she finished, turning with Paige and began to walk away.
"Where are you going?!" Nate roared from behind. "It's always been us Jamie, the both of us!" He yelled, calling her back.
Jamie turned and looked at him, her arms across Paige's shoulder. "And what about her?" Jamie asked, pointing her hand at Paige. "I'm sure you don't give a fuck if she lives or not, right?"
Nate sighed. "Come on," he beckoned. "We don't have to do this Jamie, we can't survive here if we don't stick together."
"And the others? Did you stick with them?" Paige piped up.
"We three! We three okay?!" Nate stated, placing his hands on his chest. "We can put this all behind, and find a way to-"
A large anaconda materialized from nowhere, grabbing Nate in its jaws and burrowed into the ground with him.
Paige and Jamie gasped at once. What just happened? Where did it go with him?
Jamie put a protective arm around Paige, "Stick with me," she said. They were on alert, looking out for the nearest attack.
In front of them, the dust on the ground gave a swirling motion and an ogre could be seen.
"What the fuck," Paige mouthed as she stared at it.
The ogre ran towards them, roaring and its arms in the air. Jamie quickly drew out a pocket knife, she sighed before cutting her arm with it, blood exposed. With a wavy movement of her hands, she directed the movement of the blood, suspending it in the air.
The ogre charged with speed and Jamie stayed still, focused as she formed the blood into a long sharp crystal and with a jab of arms, the blood obeyed, stabbing the creature right through it. Its liquid sputtering from behind, it dropped to the ground instantly.
Paige and Jamie looked at themselves and gave a sigh of relief, but their comfort was cut short as five more ogres, now armed, materialized, surrounded them.
"Oh crap," Jamie whispered, taking a combat stand and equipping herself with blood manipulation. "How many do you think you can take?" She asked Paige.
