Chereads / Nature has Rebelled [Interstellar] / Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

"Is this how you formed this grassland?"

"Yes. By repeatedly planting, decomposing, and fertilizing, I have accelerated the change of the composition of the soil and, by the way, the adaptation of the plants to the new environment."

In each cycle of life, everything will eventually return to the soil, becoming nourishment for a new life.

Such is nature.

To warn the recently hired worker of the following days of exhaustion, Hua Lian added, "To prepare this planet for the upcoming farming, I introduced many invasive plants into the environment. There is more than just this field."

Doctor Xiao's lips twitch. "According to the definition and the current situation of the interstellar era, all spiritual plants are invasive species."

Where can a spiritual plant grow naturally? When the ancient blue planet was destroyed, all flora and fauna lost their natural habitat.

But in the current predicament of the interstellar era, calling spiritual plants by a derogatory term was an invitation for a thrashing.

"You are right. An introduced species is a more appropriate term."

With nature struggling to survive, introduced species can provide ecosystem services, replenish damaged regions, and generally help to sustain some semblance of natural health even as many ecosystems struggle to survive.

—--

The following days were spent in this boring and sweaty repeating process.

After respawning the countless batches of grass for a whole day, the soil will be left overnight to absorb all nutrients before planting the final batch of spiritual grasses. Different from the others, these spiritual grasses are permanently imbued with Hua Lian's spiritual energy, which enabled them to thrive and live with long-lasting vitality despite the unfavorable environment.

In this tedious manner, they gradually expanded the prairie, and each time the last batch of spiritual grass was planted, Hua Lian gave a perfect demonstration of what it means to be a disabled mimic. With her minuscule spiritual essence depleted, her whole body was as limp as jelly. Despite her profuse sweating, she was shivering from a cold.

There was more air leaking out than what was breathing in.

Her porcelain complexion was excessively pale, and her face was devoid of color, like that of a lifeless doll.

Doctor Xiao was so terrified by her glass-like constitution that he grabbed the sleeping Liele and fled the scene. As a doctor, not only was he not able to help, he might end up as the murderer.

It's better to do less than add to the trouble.

As an expected result, Doctor Xiao and Liele were thrown outside by Eggy.

Living outside wasn't an issue for Doctor Xiao, but Hua Lian reacted strongly towards Liele.

That's her pollinator! Her tiny and equally sick pollinator!

Perhaps misery indeed loves company. Hua Lian was convinced that they were fellow sufferers and that the universe was trying to silence them.

Liele, "..."

Actually, I do want some silence to sleep.

But who made Hua Lian his patron? Being a motivated soft eater, training the ability to coax skillfully was required in this career.

With the glass partition separating them, Liele flutters his wings, showing off his flying skills and entertaining the groggy Hua Lian.

Hua Lian was lulled to sleep outside the nursery, where Eggy had fashioned a modest, cozy nest.

Eggy digital eyes narrowed, bestowing an admiring appreciation on the normally silent guy. "You're quite incredible at the way you move your body."

Liele, "...."

This illegal robot can't be Hua Lian's actual language teacher, right?

Similar to this planet's spiritual plants, each time Hua Lian withered, she recovered as if nothing had occurred, appearing energetic the next day after a whole night's rest and bouncing back to life, ready for another fight.

"Farming is so hard." Hua Lian made a heartfelt expression.

Doctor Xiao, "..."

When others say that, they mean it physically. When it comes to you, it's about spiritual damage.

"Let's not farm anymore. I'll take you somewhere suitable for you!" Hua Lian sized up Doctor Xiao; her eyes narrowed in a mischievous grin.

This suitable place was one of the two large oceans of Planet R0707, which Hua Lian named Wagmayen.

The Wagmayen Ocean is the largest body of water on Planet R0707, encompassing five percent of the planet's surface.

This massive abyss of wonders was exceptionally blue as well as extremely violent. Doctor Xiao shuddered at the sound of breaking waves as they cruised over the treacherous surface.

Oh, how small is a man in the face of nature?

Doctor Xiao was not interested in knowing, but Hua Lian was very energetic after a night's sleep.

"Do you feel the call of nature?"

No. Please; he has already forgotten it!

As an outstanding graduate of the Imperial Academy, his diploma served as strong evidence of his control over his mimetic instincts!

When Hua Lian grabbed his arms, Doctor Xiao felt a strong premonition. This missy wouldn't throw him in, right?!

"You.!!!" Doctor Xiao trembled with nervousness. "My mimetic form is indeed a sea turtle, but for the past 70 years of my life, I have been living on land! No, I mean, we're not wild alien beasts! Be rational! We are rational beings!"

We are civilized people! Living in a city of concrete forests!

"What are you nervous about? The civilization has been exploring space; this is just an ocean."

"Little ancestor, no one steps on space with just their body!"

"But I don't have sea exploring vessels. Can't your spiritual powers protect you?"

If not for the severe concentration of contaminants in the bodies of water and its absolute natural powers, plus her financial constraints, Hua Lian would have long wanted to conquer the seas!

She has been preparing for a long time! Therefore, a man can't say 'no' this time!

"Of course it can…" Spiritual energies are the life force of the universe. They have survived to this day because of their ability to manipulate the spiritual powers inside their bodies, which served as the foundation for the exploration of the vast universe and allowed them to endure the radiation of various energy bodies.

Their spiritual powers are use to resist the constantly shifting weather of various planets, it's gravitational pull, and shield them from the harsh elements, as well as the contaminants of the cosmos.
