Chapter 13 - A Flower Pot that is not a Pot

The professional work still needs to be left to the professionals.

With this bandit logic of grabbing a collie to work, Hua Lian confidently left the melancholic doctor to float in the sea. Anyway, this was his ancestor's natural habitat.

She then turned her attention back to growing stubborn 'weeds'.

Hua Lian has plenty of these competitive things that have always won the natural selection, but for her, these are not even enough as the foundation of her 'flower pot'.

For her root system, she has to change the soil composition; at least the pollution must be at a level where she can stand it. The day must also be picked carefully. It's better if the weather can be changed to something more stable; this way, she can adapt better to the environment.

This act of 'transplanting seedlings' will cost her life if even a single step is wrong.

Hua Lian paraded with her little mob of trash bin robots. Hey, when will her life of depending on the sky end? It would be good if her kind could be born directly on the soil.

That being said, although she cannot start farming yet, the 'wilderness' she raised can already be treated as a tiny ecosystem!

Just her large prairie can house and be grazed by cattle!

These docile beings can help her control the selection of plant varieties, fertilize the field naturally, multiply on their own, and even help farm in the future.

Eventually, they either end up on her plate, obediently delivering her nutritional energy, or return back into the soil, supporting new life.

They have meat, and some have milk. They can be eaten in all ways. The skin and hides also have many uses. Even the bones and tendons as well.

In any case, they'll formally become part of her food chain!

She has to look at her star coins and see what she can buy; if not, she'll have to think about how to catch one.

Hua Lian was still having beautiful thoughts when Eggy arrested her.

"Little ancestor, after bouncing so happily, it's time to be a good student."

"Dad said our family is a little rich landlord. I just need to look after the land and don't need these."

"Spoiling a child rotten to the point of not making progress, that must be an evil stepfather." Eggy sneered at the mention of that chicken. "Don't listen to that unreliable guy; it still needs to be me to be your real father."

Hua Lian wanted to quibble, but Eggy turned the firepower to her.

"Also, you, a prodigal child, have squandered almost all of your inheritance in less than a year."

Hua Lan choked. There's no need to speak so truthfully.

"Hurry up and get your certificate, or start selling the planks and bricks of your flower pot."

"That must not be sold." Hua Lian shook her head like a rattle.

Although she was careless and indeed a prodigal, not treating the precious spiritual plants as a thing, letting them grow wildly, not caring if they died, and just replacing them casually with another batch. Those are still her tiny warriors, fearlessly opposing natural selection.

Those are the fundamental foundations of her future habitat! Her flower pot!

She can sell one or two newly grafted mutant plants to tide over, but that's just like getting rid of the pruned parts. Even if the spiritual plants she grew die, they must still return to the soil of her world.

When Hua Lian began to show the characteristics of a plant mimic, General Hua planned to build a sizable, sturdy greenhouse.

It must be constructed with mecha materials for an added layer of protection and maintained by the most sophisticated AI. He will transport soils from agricultural planets, build artificial water sources with highly advanced filtering systems, and pick a location with good sunlight and mild weather.

The idea was good, but Hua Lian was particularly obsessed with the idea of being planted in a 'flower pot'. In her reasoning, she expressed the desire to stretch her roots and grow her branches freely in all directions under the sun.

General Hua had no idea how big a 'flower pot' should be. This was his only child and the only plant mimic in all of the generations recorded in the family.

A flower pot should be something that can be carried onto the balcony whenever the morning sunlight is particularly good. Building a greenhouse was not in conflict with it. Whenever his daughter wants to bask in the sun, he can carry her out—plant and pot together.

Who knew she was referring to a whole planet as a flower pot.

That's not a pot at all!

His delicate, sweet, and tiny daughter, please don't be a humongous tree mimic!

General Hua simply cannot imagine the mimic form of his daughter, but he particularly eats her sugar-coated cannonballs.

Perhaps plant mimics were simply obsessed with claiming the land.

The galaxies are full of wastelands, and lands are treated as cheap commodities; however, a privately owned planet still costs a fortune.

But who made her the only child he had?

She was also born weak and has disabled spiritual power. The most profound memory he has of this child were the countless times she almost died.

He felt it was not easy for his daughter to live to this day, so he always gave in to whatever she wanted, even if it was unreasonable.

On the other hand, Eggy, as an AI, also doesn't understand the particular instinctual habits of mimics and their desire to follow them. What he knew was how to use it to the best of his ability to pinch Hua Lian's weakness.

In this way, the biological father and the proclaimed father have been playing bad-cop, good-cop, flexibly confronting the little ancestor with mixed doubles.

Hua Lian learned to be afraid of this duo. Although the left army was currently injured, Eggy wasn't afraid that he couldn't discipline the child alone.

His troops have always been victorious, and the army's morale was high. With a frying pan made from the shell of alien beasts, Eggy pursues Hua Lian until she surrenders.

"Plants don't need education!" Hua Lian said in her final struggle.

"... Be a proper person."

"What I'm doing is physical work! Labour!" Hua Lian refused to be buried in a mountain of homework. "The labor of farmers is honorable."

"Since you know that they are honorable, the more you need to study. Farmers are highly educated and respected."

This child has many reasons that don't make sense.

Hua Lian twitched her lips. They are talking about different eras. "I have enough knowledge and ability to be a qualified farmer."

So she really has no need to study.

"Mandatory education hasn't been cancelled yet."

Eggy simply stated the most truthful fact.

Raising a child was an art of war. If he doesn't show her some colors, she will think she can ascend to the sky.
