The warden was finally sent off after dealing strong mental damage to the guilty.
Hua Lian sat listlessly for a few minutes, showing off an image of a good student, before starting to act as a demon again.
The window of the study oversees the nursery. After opening it, the drones brought up pottery plants. The one-click delivery was done in silence.
"Flowers are so delicate. Look how sad they are." Hua Lian conjured a scissor.
Liele flew up from her shoulders and saw the leaves tilting down.
"..." They are indeed quite sad-looking.
Hua Lian pruned them while humming a tune. In her hands, the cut-off branches slowly stretch and bloom. After she was satisfied with her work, she then arranged them into the cup, showing off her artistic skills.
The bouquet of different flowers gave Liele a good mood. In a single swoop, he domineeringly occupied them and expressed that this would be his new bed.
The contract stipulated that food, accommodations, and entertainment were provided by the golden patron.
Hua Lian: As long as you are reasonable.
Treated as a background noise, the pre-recorded lesson was narrated by the highly paid tutor. He talked in a tone of outright reading off of the book and couldn't be more perfunctory enough.
"... In the early years of the interstellar voyage, humans discovered the existence of spiritual energies."
"These energies were in the air, in the atmosphere, in the land, as well as in the waters. They were ever present on the entire Ancient Blue planet, penetrating deep into the core; it was the life force of the world."
"The traces of these energies are also found flowing in the bodies of plants and some animals. For years unknown, they have been evolving in silence, developing and adapting to harness the ability to willed spiritual energies, thriving in extreme places that humans could never dream to venture and become what was known as spiritual beings."
"At first, humans only wanted to use this abundant energy source to fuel the long voyage outside of the first galaxy, however, the existence of spiritual beings proved the probability of humans ascending to a higher evolution. Though it was not for long, that humans learned that these energies were intangible for them as they have long lost the genetic capability to utilize the spiritual energies."
"These discoveries lead to the beginning of humans' desperate attempt to hasten evolution."
"Project Dawn was born in an attempt to use spiritual energies by controlling spiritual beings. They gathered all spiritual plants with the highest manifestation of spiritual powers, conducting countless experiments to control their evolution. Eventually, the compilation of abundant energies gave birth to a consciousness."
"Derived from the mythology of the forgotten age, to commemorate the noble existence that came into being, the first world tree, the mother of nature, and the tree of life, they named him— Yggdrasil…"
Hearing the name of the Origin, Hua Lian paused her hand reaching for another holographic device.
[The majority of the people believe that he was the consciousness of the ancient blue planet. So when they call the motherland, most of the time, they mean him.] Liele chimed in, using his light brain. [I also heard that plant mimics are the closest kin to the world tree.]
"Well, my dream is to grow as tall and gigantic as him. But it's better to be more colorful than him."
Yggdrasil has luxuriant leaves, showing off a magnificent viridescent canopy. His branches spread far and wide, and his strong body and towering figure allowed him to stand above all, his sight looking down on all creatures.
That's undeniably a handsome old man.
Sadly, his head was only full of greenery and no other colors.
Liele, "...."
Don't think about it. My dear, look at your tiny figure and wake up early.
Liele has no interest in talking about reality. He turned back towards the lecture and tried to engage this truant back to study. [Did god made humans to his likeness or did humans created a god in their own image, fantasizing about him as their higher evolution? Yggdrasil was said to exist since the birth of the ancient blue planet, but it was undeniable that his consciousness was born from human hands. He took on the form of a spiritual plant that grew into a towering tree, and eventually, he also had a humanoid form.]
"This solidified the thought that they created god." Hua Lian stated.
[That's right. And the rest was history. Project Dawn, from the beginning, was done to control spiritual beings and further turned into an attempt to put the god in a golden cage. The ancient blue planet was destroyed into oblivion, taking along its whole planetary system—the area now known as the abyss. Without the protection of our motherland, survival became precarious and ushered in the brutal assimilation of all flora and fauna, which we called alienation. It was an apocalypse that ended the world of humans.]
Hua Lian was happily dragged into the conversation. "But for us, it was the start of the era of our great evolution."
[Yes. This good student; you did your assignment well.]
That housekeeper was simply a nagger. Liele mistakenly thought his patron was a complete study scum that cannot be carved. His energy was spent unnecessarily trying to tutor.
"Of course! You don't know who I am." Hua Lian patted her chest. "I have a photographic memory, guaranteed to never return the knowledge to the teachers."
Just don't ask her how to apply knowledge. She has no hobby of torturing her last two brain cells.
[My dear patron is the best~] Coaxing the financial boss costs nothing, which makes Liele extremely willing.
If others heard them talking so bubbly about the death of their 'mother', no one could control the itch to put these two into a sack and be beaten.
"You're quite energetic today," Hua Lian asked tentatively. "No longer sleepy?"
[Not so much anymore, thanks to you. I have been eating well, resting well, and sleeping well. The nectars are very sweet and nutritious, and the nursery was very calming. As long as my spiritual outburst doesn't relapse back into a manic state, I'm pretty much healed.]
Liele did not shy away from giving a five star review. A good leg pendant should know how to express gratitude.
