Having finished designing the caravan, which was more like a small troupe of carriages, Lien finally asked the question he wanted to ask the whole time "So, where are we going?"
The system shined once again, and next to the [Caravan Design] came the new tab [World Travel]. Lien mentally pressed that tab and switched to it. To his disappointment, there were only two panels he could choose from, but he wasn't unhappy with that at all.
[World Travel]
> Random World Travel
> Precise World Trave (unavailable)
°System Note: 'Precise World Trave' requires the user to have experienced a world and completed it.
Lien asked how a world would be 'completed' but received no answer, so he just took it as is, as he was sure he would be told upon entering the world. He went deep into himself and calmed his excited self. He was jump right into it, when he suddenly thought of something and asked "By the way, how will I be looking like… in the other world?"
The system, as expected, opened another tab [Caravan Head]. He looked at it expectantly.
[Caravan Head]
> Appearance
- Age: 25 (83)
- Height: 180
- Weight: 75kg
- Build: Average
- Hair: White
- Eyes: Purple
> Skills
- Business Sense (you can sense opportunities and dangers during trade) (passive)
- All Language Mastery (you understand and speak every language of sentient beings) (passive)
- Cold Blood (you are calm in all situations and have a threatening aura) (passive)
°System Note: Your appearance has been decided based off of the genes of your ancestors, which had the rare skin, hair and eye sickness 'Albinism'. You do not have the sickness and only retain said appearance. Additionally, to make trading easier, your body will function and look like that of a twenty-five-year-old male.
Lien looked at his appearance and system note, and could only think 'To make trading easier? You mean so that I can appear as a novice caravan head? I guess you could count that as a bonus. People tend to be much more careless in front of younglings than they are if they see an old sly snake.'
The skills given could only be said to be a reflection of Lien's past accomplishments. He had truly learned many languages, so his linguistic abilities were strengthened by the system. As for Business Sense and Cold Blood, they were also his own characteristics, probably only enhanced slightly.
Still, he was thankful for the skill, as that meant he would spend way less time learning the languages and the local scamming tricks of the merchants.
Finally, he had finished all the things. To be honest, he was never as hasty as he was now, and that was only because his life had nearly started to be come boring. Even spending hours upon hours calculating gain and loss and doing taxed was more fun that just sitting on your seat and waiting to be served the monthly income.
The only thing he was really doing was talking with big men and helping them come to a deal, but how often would that happen? Now, he only wanted to rush to the next trading adventure. And so, he switched tabs to [World Traveling] and clicked on 'Random World Trave'.
The white light of the system expanded it swirled around Lien until it became a coat of sorts. As both of them were white blurs, one could only see that the white blur in this plane of worlds became brighter. The white blur rushed and jumped around the worlds until it found one, it was small in comparison to some Lien had seen in the surroundings, but all of them were just as blurry as his image, and he could only make out blue and green colors before he rushed in.
…
"Ngghhhh" Lien grunted, waking up like he was in a long unconscious state. His whole body felt slightly weak as he tried to stand up, when the system brightened in front of his eyes, too bright for his barely awoken state. He closed his eyes for a few seconds before he opened them again, looking at the system note that came for him.
°You have entered a lower-lower world. Congratulations, you have successfully transferred.
Lien smiled upon the message while massaging his temples. Waking up from a long sleep was really not as great as people thought it would be. 6hours? Too few. 8hours? Perfect. 10hours? Too much. 12+hours? A great headache and a body feeling like you just had the most intensive training session.
As he calmed himself down, Lien looked around where he was laying. He saw that he was on a bed which was fairly soft, it reminded him of the bed he had in his childhood – fairly soft yet of obvious lower quality. It might be soft now, but he was sure that just laying in it for a few more weeks and it'd feel just like he was sleeping on a slightly thicker blanket.
He looked around the room. The bed was on the left side of the room, one other side was a window with a small table. The window was a wooden one that could be closed and opened at any time, so currently, it was closed and just a few lights came out.
In the middle of the room, there was a larger table. It was lengthy and had many drawers. Behind it was large cabinet that seemed to have much place for files and such. There was also a small table next to the large, on which some papers and empty files were resting.
The way Lien saw it, this was his personal and workspace. The bed was barely a side attraction if he was honest, as even the small closet adjacent to it would barely fit a few outfits. There wasn't even a nightstand, meaning that most important wares were probably on the main table or the window table. This meant that he was closest to his workplace, just like he did that when he had started. Some nostalgic feelings came up, this was just like he had hoped traveling would be.
Lien stood up and went to the window. He skipped the main table, as he was sure there were many things to read once he stopped there. For that, he needed light, and he wasn't sure whether there was any lamp whatsoever, as barely the outline of the table was visible.
So, as he reached the window table, he looked shortly through the small openings in the wood, which spoke of long history. Lien opened the window slowly, letting his eyes adjust to the bright day. Slowly, he saw the view of the outside.
It was in the middle of a small forest, for he could see that the trees weren't too high. In the sky, there was a single sun, brightly shining from above. He seemed to be at the border of the forest, so it wouldn't be a problem to leave it, if that was what he wished for.
But firstly, he looked back into the room, now with enough light, he could see the full detail of it, which was barely different from what he had seen prior. The bed and table looked exactly like their outlines, just that the table had a few miscellaneous things on it, like a pen and some papers.
He opened the drawers, finding a key. Finally, he opened the cabinet behind the table, which was closed by a small chain. He used the key he just found, opening it. Inside, there were many empty files, but one thing seemed to be truly important. The moment he touched it, he got a system note.
