There were too many horses and carriages. He already saw that, just like promised, three carriages would be part of his caravan. But the problem was just like he had anticipated, there were no people. The system had no tab or panel for that, at least not currently.
Which meant, he had to somehow find the people for his caravan in the world he was in. That would be troublesome, but Lien already had thoughts about that. He looked at the horses and already knew what would be helpful in his endeavor.
For such a forest, there was sure to be a small town nearby. The citizen would visit the forest for wood, herbs and hunting. After taking care of the Horses, he went back to his own carriage. Below the Window Table, there was a riding saddle which he had seen prior when he opened said window.
He took the saddle and put it on a Horse that was particularly tame. It didn't move and even bowed slightly, to make it easier to put on the saddle. Lien hopped onto the saddle and sat down, calmly positioning himself upon the horse.
It was a feeling of nostalgia, for he had long not ridden a horse, even in his previous world. He had barely even jumped, not to mention hopping up a horse. He carefully enjoyed the seating and let himself drift away, before he came back mentally and pat the horse. Taking the reins, he commanded it to step up. It brought him down the small hill he sat atop, until he slowly saw the outline of a town.
Just besides the town, there was a small village that seemed to be farming. So, he went to the village with his horse high up, obviously looking noble with his refined exterior. Prior, he looked at himself, so, although there was no mirror, he could see that he was in some fine robe.
It wasn't fine to the point one could call it silk, yet fine enough to not hurt his skin while wearing it. Slowly, he approached the Village and rode into it, until he was in the center, in front of… what he would call a large hut. Villagers had already seen him on the fields, and the few females that stayed in the houses came out, watching as he went towards the Village Chiefs house.
An old man came out of the slightly larger hut, a cane in his hand, made of wood but of much less quality that Liens. Yes, he had one too. It was his Shire-Family cane, the so-called Caravan Head Cane. He had found it prior in the cabinet, so very happy that it overwhelmed him. When he went in to take the saddle, he decided to take it with him, for it represented his authority and the family spirit – it was of innumerable importance and couldn't be left around.
Holding it in his right hand as he rode made him seem even more noble, as the head and purely made of silver. Still, for a true noble, it would seem like a well-made cane at most, as it didn't have any gold or jewels attached to it. Lien knew that there was more to the cane… it was definitely not just a normal cane, but he didn't know how to look into it deeper. The system also didn't mention anything, so he assumed that it was something he would be coming into contact with later.
Lien looked at the old man holding a cheap wooden cane, some slight disdain in his eyes. He didn't hide it, for the way the village was made, strengthened his guesses for the world. 'Hmm, this looks like the medieval ages. The cities might be slightly better off, but for dirt and… to be standing around the streets, and this smell… they clearly didn't learn of hygiene yet.'
With disdain in his eyes, he said in a low but understandable voice "Five strong Villagers, tell them to come to the beginning of the forest. Make it with haste and proper thought." Then, like the noble he acted to be, he left and didn't give the Village Chief any time to talk.
The Village Chief was slightly confused but looking at the unique horse and the high-born attitude of the white-haired foreign man, he didn't dare neglect the order. He looked at the women and shouted at the top of his dried-out lungs "Get five men! NOW!"
…
Soon, just after Lien came back to the carriages, five strong men arrived at his behest, a few meters away. The horses stopped looking so amiable, giving off a threatening aura. Lien was even more satisfied with them, it seemed they were sentient, not just a slight one like seen in cats and crows, but deeper sentience that knew from beginning how to act in the corresponding scenarios.
Lien wasn't interested in talking with the low men, so he just commanded "Put on the reins of the horses and drive out the carriages. Two in the back, Two in the middle and One in the front carriage."
His carriage was the front one, behind him was supposed to be the carriage of his servants, and lastly was the storage. Typically, that was the case. Now, the storage carriage was barely filled with some simple goods. He had looked at the bill and knew that all he had was some ore. Although it wasn't deeper explained in the bill, the currency used to buy it was 'Copper', and with a general knowledge of things, copper was naturally the lowest metal.
He himself didn't have any bag or sack with any currency, but the ore in the last carriage could be used to exchange for it. For now, he had one plan: find a city where he could sell the resource and buy something to sell it further away. Afterall, he was a Caravan Head, so he had to take his Caravan all over places and buy local high stocks resource and sell them at low stock cities for more.
Of course, there was more to the trading he would be doing. But that was the core point of Caravans: buy something unique to a region and sell it where it isn't found. With this tactic, he would be able to make the most profit out of his storage. Truthfully, he didn't plan to spend too much time in this world. He didn't know for sure, but the fact that the system called this place 'Lower-Lower World' meant one thing: this world wouldn't be as interesting as other worlds.
He would mostly learn the basic trading and most importantly, learn the system. As he thought about the system, it gave him a note regarding the people.
°System Note: Servants can be added to the Caravan. Temporary ones will automatically be added, yet their stats will be less detailed. World Servants are servants that will be following the Caravan for the full duration of the Caravan's Stay in the specific world. Permanent Servants are servants bound to the Caravan. Special rights are given to the Caravan Head depending on the Servant.
With that, the 'Servant' tab opened in the system.
[Servants]
> Temporary Servants
- Five new servants have been added:
Unknown 1, Unknown 2, Unknown 3, Unknown 4, Unknown 5
- Average Stats of 'Unknown' 1,2,3,4,5: 1.1
- Evaluation: Basic Humans with slight increase in Strength.
> World Servants (None assigned)
> Permanent Servants (Unavailable currently)
°System Note: TS are passively influenced by the caravan over time, until they lose their own self and only become an extension of the caravan. WS can be assigned, they can be influenced directly by the Caravan Head, but keep their own self. PS are soul-bound to the Caravan but keep their individuality.
