Chapter 3 - New Power Unleashed: Confrontation with the Beast and understanding the world

As he continued his relentless journey through the mountain, day blurred into night, his determination unwavering even in the face of exhaustion. With no more than a few hours of restless sleep each night, he pressed on, driven by an unyielding desire to uncover the mysteries that lay hidden within.

But fate, as capricious as the mountain winds, had other plans in store. One fateful day, as the sun dipped below the horizon, he encountered a formidable adversary—a monstrous serpent, its scales shimmering with an otherworldly hue of blue lapis, immune to the very magic that coursed through his veins.

With a thunderous impact, the serpent's tail lashed out, striking the boy with devastating force. His body hurtled through the air, crashing into the dense canopy of trees behind him. Branches snapped and leaves scattered in his wake as he tumbled uncontrollably, a trail of destruction marking his descent.

As the boy lay battered amidst the wreckage, a voice echoed within the recesses of his mind, sending shivers down his spine.

"Huh, is that it for you ?"

it taunted, its words as clear as if spoken aloud.

"why you are not using the weapon you got ?"

the voice said again.

"the monster is here, eradicate it"

As the boy questioned the mysterious voice echoing in his mind, the danger of the giant snake still loomed ever closer. Startled, he acted on instinct, hurling the enchanted stick towards the serpent with all his might. As the stick collided with the serpent's lapis scales, a surge of realization washed over the boy. Despite his desperate act, he knew deep down that the lapis was completely immune to magic, it's common sense in this world, rendering his efforts futile. but as the boy glaring at the snake direction, only the snake's head remains. he questioned himself, saying :

"there is no way, lapis is ammune to magic."

"so, you still think that you were given magic at your birth ?"

the voice within his mind spoke again, its words carrying a weight of wisdom and understanding.

"Let me tell you something about the world you are living in," it began, its tone measured and solemn. "Fire, water, wind, earth, ether, the elemental forces that govern this world and fuel its magic. But what you were given is no mere magic, it is pure mana, far stronger and more primal than any mortals can comprehend."

"Mana can be transformed to magic, but magic could never return to its previous form,it is mana,"

the voice explained, its words resonating with undeniable truth.

"Humans are born with a limited amount of mana, already transformed into the magic of nature's elements. The maximum usage for humans is typically limited to three nature elements. But you, you are different. Once you unleash mana, you have the power to transform it into magic by choice. You can keep it pure and wield it with a destructive force stronger than the combined might of the five elements."

With each word, the boy's sense of purpose deepened, his innate potential stirring within him like a dormant flame awakened to new life. He understood now that his abilities were not bound by the constraints of mortal limitations, but were instead a reflection of the boundless power of mana itself.
