Chapter 4 - Time's Passage: Book of Truth and The Village massacre

With the giant serpent vanquished and his newfound power coursing through his veins.

Syn approached the fallen serpent, its once imposing form now a testament to his triumph. Gently, he retrieved the last remaining unharmed lapis scale, its iridescent surface shimmering in the faint light of the mountain.

As he held the scale in his hands, a surge of energy coursed through him, a connection forged between him and the ancient creature he had defeated. Though battered and broken, the scale held within it the essence of the serpent's power, a tangible reminder of the battles he had fought and the challenges he had overcome.

After many years of solitary struggle within the treacherous confines of the mountain, Syn finally reached the deepest recesses of the dark forest. There lays nor a dragon nor a legendary creature protecting the mountain but a book covered by a royal blue colored energy As Syn stood before the mysterious book, bathed in the royal blue energy that emanated from its pages, a sense of anticipation gripped him, urging him to unravel the secrets that lay within

The voice inside the boy spoke again:

"Well well, guess we found what you really need to understand the limit of the power you were given ".

As he picked the book. He saw word carved in it. The voice explained the meaning of the words only then syn understood that "Chronicles of Mana" was it's title. The second he opened the book a large amount of mana flows from it. He started looking at it's pages while the voice explaining the meaning and teaching syn it's ancient language. In the book there was pictures of ancient creatures, sword skills, magic skills and even weapons that were used in a war two thousand years ago.

After eight long years, Syn made the difficult decision to return to his former home, despite the animosity he knew awaited him. Though the villagers had shunned him, he couldn't shake the feeling that they were his only home.

As Syn journeyed back through the mountain, a sense of anticipation mingled with apprehension. He longed to see his parents again, to reassure himself that they were safe despite the passage of time.

However, upon reaching the site where the village once stood, his heart sank like a stone. All that remained were the haunting remnants of what was once his home. Buildings lay in ruins, consumed by nature's relentless embrace. And amidst the devastation, he saw the lifeless forms of his parents and neighbors, their bodies silent witnesses to the tragedy that had unfolded.

Shock and disbelief washed over Syn as he gazed upon the scene before him, his crimson eyes reflecting the horror and sorrow of the moment. Tears welled in his eyes as he struggled to comprehend the magnitude of the loss that had befallen him.
