Giselle Vila Rosa's point of view
─────────────────────────
I think I have a different roommate per month, as none of the girl ever want to be near me, both because of my terrible reputation, the fake rumors that follow me wherever I go, or because they just want to be close to me, and they are always the kids with a scholarship, since everyone thinks I have one and legacies kids don't mix with the scholarship ones in the dorms.
Don't get me wrong, I picked this, I chose to live like this in here. Everything would be different had I come as myself, but I don't want that, I just want to pass by as unnoticed as I can, I want to be a wallflower, to be away from the radar, from the spotlight. So, I never cared enough to bond with my roommates, never past the basic, if they speak, I'll speak, if they don't, I won't, and that's how I pass by.
Classes came back a month ago for the students who were already here, and today for the new kids who were accepted through the tests that lasted the entirety of the past month. Thus today was the day for my new roommate to came around, which is why I cleaned everything and adjusted my stuff, just to keep it clean and make it look good.
It's not that I'm avoiding bonding, I would be open to have friends and even a boyfriend or a girlfriend if that happened, so I'm as open as I can without letting them know who I actually am. But as soon as they go around and hear about the stuff they say about me, they never want to stay.
Regarding the rooming matters, only the top 10 students gain the privilege of having a sole room for themselves, almost like an apartment, which is in a different complex than the common dorms, and all of those said students are divided in the top 10 of each year and overall, and they are given even more privileges for such.
I purposely topped myself on the 11th position of my year, in a way that I wouldn't get on the overall top either. Most think I'm stuck, but it's all on purpose, which allows me to keep the status of scholarship student, get me relatively good grades, and keep me out of the spotlight.
That is, on the Academy's top.
Outside, as Giselle Vila Rosa, I'm the top 1 awakened in the whole world, in physical combat, in magic, in core strength, and in everything else. Park Jin-Young comes right after me on top 2. We are the only two rankers who are from the new generation, all the others are old enough to be our parents. Which is also one of the reasons why the Vila Rosa and the Park possess so much power.
Because of us.
Grandpa still hates my guts though, and-
A knock came from the door, startling me and I jumped from the lil dark green puffed chair at the left side of my bed, pausing Heartbreak on Repeat by Olivia Lunny that was playing on the ear pod in my right ear. With a snap of my fingers I changed my entire physical look to be Ella, and walked towards the door, "Wait a minute," I said, my voice now slightly high-pitched, opposite to my real voice.
As I unlocked the door, I found a familiar face, a girl that should not be in here, "Hi, I'm Selene, I'll be your new roommate. Ella, right?"
I froze, staring at Park Jin-young's little sister, who has only made one appearance in society, and has been kept as a guarded treasure by the Park clan. Looking like a feminine version of her brother. "Park Jin-ah," the name left my lips before I could control it, and she blinked surprised.
"How did you know?" She gasped. "Nobody got it right yet."
I swallowed, looking away and opening the door for her, who came inside with about ten huge Louis Vuitton wheeled bags, "You look just like Park Jin-young," I said blankly. "It's not hard to tell. If you stand near him, you will be recognized in a second."
"You must stare a lot at oppa to be able to tell so quickly."
My cheeks burned and I quickly turned my back to her, to lock and close the door. Please, leave soon. She can't be here. She's the last person who should be rooming with me. "I don't stare at him, he just ends up kind of constantly in my line of vision, normally because he puts himself there, as he is always tormenting my nerves."
She choked on a gasp, "Oh? I heard you were obsessed with him."
"And I heard his sister was less inconvenient than he is."
Park Jin-ah gasped, "Who said that? Tell me and I'll instantly be best friends with the person. Everyone finds me unbearable at home, except oppa, but he's never home, he's always here, or in secluded training. It's annoying, but I get it, he wants to take down Giselle Vila Rosa, and he needs some extreme training for that. That bitch is a monster, she's just out of this world, absurdly strong, it's baffling."
Oh, thank you! I think I'm actually blushing. "Have you met her?"
She sat down on her bed, "Once."
"How was it like?" I feigned interest. "How does she look?"
"Gorgeous," she cried. "The bitch is absurdly beautiful. It was no short of breathtaking. It's a pity that she is a Vila Rosa, I hate them, but I just can't hate her, she's just… inspiring. A woman in top, you know? Don't ever let my family hear me saying that or they might cut ties with me, but she is just… all I want to be one day. Can you believe she's around our age? I mean, more you than me, as I'm 21, she's 22, a year younger than oppa."
Now, this is quite the surprise, "I heard she was hideous."
She gasped loudly, "Who blasphemed like that? They are probably just green with jealousy. She doesn't look like the Vila Rosa though, she looks different, exotic, she even has amethyst eyes, it's ethereal how pretty she is. I heard a rumor that she was the daughter of a D'Angelo, but that has never been confirmed, only rumored. That would explain a lot, since all the D'Angelo clan full-blooded kids have always been drop-dead gorgeous."
True. Mamma was the most beautiful woman to ever been born. I'll never get to an ounce of what she was, but I am, indeed, that beautiful. "I see, I've never met any D'Angelo, and the only Vila Rosa I've met was the chairman, who hates me, and is a pain in the ass if I may. No offense, but I also do not like any of the Park I've met so far, I despise your brother, but I won't hold that over you. You are not your family."
"Ugh," she slapped her forehead, "was oppa that much of a jerk to you, Ella? I'm sorry. He ain't like that, he must have something against you. I knew he wasn't your fan, but I thought it was because you were some kind of stalker obsessed with him by how much he talked about this."
Park Jin-young talked about me? Me as Ella? What the hell? "I'm not a stalker or obsessed with him by far, Park Jin-ah. That's bullshit. I don't really have the time to loose with obsessing over anybody, especially not an arrogant narcissistic bastard like Park Jin-young, who can't see anybody but himself. To be honest, I kind of hate all the legacy clans."
"Sorry for the wrong… imagine I had of you. I hope you won't hold any grudge on me because I'm a Park," she said softly and I swallowed.
"Why are you even here? You're not a scholarship kid, you're a-"
"I am, actually, a scholarship kid," what? "Appa and eomma told me that as oppa has already proven himself to the whole world and to all the people in the academy, I should do the same, but as I'm not a ranker, they told me to do that by keeping a high rank and be part of the top 10 of my year and overall, as a scholarship student."
I can't say much about that. "Is that so?" I couldn't help grinning at how similar our situations are, though I took it more extremely and it was against papai but in accord to the secret deal I made with grandpa. "I see. But you know that, as you came here as Park Jin-ah, the masters might end up treating you differently because they know you are a Park, right?"
Her eyes widened, "Oh no, I… haven't thought that far."
"No wonder," I scoffed sarcastically.
"Your name is Ella Różowy, right?"
"Yes," I lied with a nod.
"You're Polish then," she tilted her head.
No. I'm Italian-Brazilian-Greek, "Yes," I lied again, unfazed.
"I'm Korean-British-Greek," she said with smiled.
"I know," I rolled my shoulders, "everyone knows."
She blushed, "Sorry, I'm not… used to socializing, I have always low-key confined in the clan's villa as a treasure made out of porcelain, so I never got to play with kids my age or anything. It's my first time. I hope you can once overlook that."
Ugh, she's making be feel guilty. "It's ok, I'm not used to it either."
"You like K-pop?" She put her stuff at the side and laid down on her bed, belly down, looking like a Golden Retriever puppy.
"Nowadays? Who doesn't?"
She beamed, "I love it. What are your favorite 3rd gen groups?"
"BTS and Red Velvet," she's not like I had pictured, in fact, aside from the looks, I feel as if she came from an entirely different world than Park fucking Jin-young did. "Yours?"
"Seventeen and TWICE," Jin-ah beamed. "Can I call you eonni?"
It's her culture, it's fine, and I am older than her. "I don't mind it." But Park Jin-young sure as hell will. "What are your favorite 4th generation groups?" I asked her, trying to engage, not just because she isn't the heiress of the Park, but because she also has never done anything against me like her damned brother has.
"TXT and IVE, yours?" She sure likes Hybe.
But so do I, "Enhypen and G-Idle. What's your favorite musician?"
"In the whole world?" I nodded. "Taylor Swift," she giggled shyly.
"And male?"
"Bruno Mars and Lewis Capaldi, both. What about you?"
Three? "Rihanna, Tate McRae, and The Weeknd."
"And a all-time favorite song?" She smiled excited.
"Love in the Dark by Adele," I said, staring at the ceiling.
"Oh, I get it. Mine is Young and Beautiful by Lana del Rey!"
"So, we mostly love Hybe groups, our favorite overall artists are legends of the pop culture, but our all-time favorite songs are from totally different artists," I chuckled, actually feeling good near her, which I never could have thought. "In conclusion, we are really random!"
"Eonni, eonni, let's laid down like this," she giggled, laying down on her back, with her legs straightened up on the wall, and going with the wave, I did the same, laughing at my stupidity. "Now, let's share a secret."
"We don't even trust each other yet," I chuckled in dismay.
"I'm working on that," she said charmingly. "We can take both take a magical oath to never tell anyone what we are going to share here. It'll just be us, so we can bond better. Then you will be my first friend before any fake bitch can try taking the spot just because of me being a Park."
She's surprisingly innocent. "Alright, let's take an oath."
Being easygoing, she offered to set the magic up, and I went with it, not to use my magic, after a few words, se took the oath not to disclose anything we were going to share in here, with anybody else but one another. I've never taken this oath, but I heard many friends do. Feels refreshing.
Though I doubt she'll want to stay as my roommate in a month after she makes friends she'll find cooler than me. I don't mind it though, I'm already expecting it not to be disappointed again. I've been through this with my 7th roommate, Mare Voinovich, who is now part of the "mean girls" group, and always hanging around Park Jin-young's group too.
"I'll start," she giggled. "Let's share 3, it my lucky number."
"Alright, what's your first secret?"
"I hooked up with oppa's friend, and lost my virginity with him."
My jaw dropped and I did my best not to gasp, "Viktor?"
She squeaked, "How did you know?"
"He hangs out with the jerk all the time. Oh my Gods," I chuckled, feeling embarrassed by a girl younger than me having more experience than me in this kind of thing. "And was it good?"
"It was AMAZING!" She clapped her hands. "He's so big and-"
"No!" I squeaked, "I don't want to know that," I cried. "Viktor is a no-no to me, I don't want to picture it, it'll give me nightmares, and if you say it, I will picture it," my words made her burst out laughing. "But I do want to know one thing," I sat down and turned to her. "Top or bottom?"
