Suddenly a harsh wind blew. It was a very cold one and it made Kiara a bit scared.
Without saying anything,she wrapped the blanket all over her and closed her eyes hoping for the cause to leave.

13 years later. .
"Hello Kiara."Lisa waved as she saw her walking down the subway.
"Like yeah. As usual "Lisa cut her off."But girl what's up?You do not look Kiara enough "
That was a clear fact and it had shown on her face. Something kept bothering her but she did not know why and that had always been her question. With that in mind,she sighed.
"I'm just feeling a bit moody that's all."But Lisa knew she was far from lying."right as you say."There was not a word uttered. Only the sounds of busy trains and people's footsteps was heard.
M"How about we go to the library."? I have to read some books."Kiara suggested with her gaze fixed on Lisa's expression.
"Like books!As in not the type of books I'm thinking."
The quiet stubborn look on Kiara's face could tell everything."Vampire books. But didn't your parents forbid you from reading those kinds of books?Have you already forgotten?"
"No I haven't Lisa. Remember...my parents are not here to tell me what I should or shouldn't do."She replied a bit upset."I'm not an eight year old kid anymore."
"Alright as you say daddy's girl."Lisa added."Well shall we?"
With the little hope left for her,she did not have an option but to agree to her request which she did.

After a miles walk,they finally got to their destination. The Holcolm Library.
Its vast and unique building made itook far different from other libraries.
Some say it contained beasts who lurk out in the dark to haunt for the blood of innocent souls whiles others like Kiara just see it to be a simple library that welcomes people to read all that was in it.
As for Lisa,the only thing she had in mind about the library was how mysterious it looked and the one who built it.
With all those perceptions in their thoughts,they made their way in.
There they saw books of various genres and sizes neatly arranged in tall beautiful shelves. The tall white pillars of this mysterious building stood erect at a uniform distance from each other thus providing a huge hallway for people to walk around and appreciate its beauty.
The library's delicate looking chandeliers hang uprightly at every corner of the library.
In fact one could say,the interior was a while new world.
"Oh my goodness."Cried Kiara."The library looks so good as before "
Yes that was a fact Lisa did not want to appreciate."But tell me. . doesn't all this look strange to you? Who built this? It's not like the person did a bad thing but the person does not want to reveal him or herself"
"Well....the person does not want to be bothered by any means."
"Really. Really Kiara?"She could not believe what she was hearing.
Kiara could see that Lisa had already created tension.
"Let us go on with our business okay?"She cut her off just to stop her from making any more comments against her favorite place.

"Welcome to Holcolm Library."The librarian said as the people who wondered around in awe.
"See? There's nothing to worry about."She assured her of that as she playfully placed her arms on hers."Trust me."
With no other choice,Lisa sighed."Alright. Let's go"
Without wasting much time,they continuedvas the librarian strangely stared at them.

The busy atmosphere of the library made it look like that of a tourist site.
Kiara and Lisa busily selected their books and made their way to an empty desk
Words were not uttered after that. That was until Lisa decided to break it.
"So the prince died after all. What sad ending."
"No it's not just the end."Kiara said."There must be another way. He cannot just die like that "
Now Lisa was eager to know what her friend meant.
"Well.. the prince died trying to save his love. According to the novel, he's not human. Maybe he will come back for his love and either run away with her to his realm or give up his immortality and stay with her on earth."
"Yeah true."Upon hearing that, Lisa applauded for Kiara until she remembered she was in the library so she apologized.
"That must be its ending."Lisa whispered joyfully."You should be a novelist or a lawyer or something. You are so good at gathering clues for a perfect conclusion."
"Seriously Lisa. Please don't start. I came here for books."Kiara replied until her expression changed to a suspicious one and that made Lisa a bit worried."As we were walking down the hallway,I saw something."
"Tell me."
"There were other books."She begun, lowering her tone."Much different books. They are on tje other side of the library and before I could make up my mind to contemplate on whether to go or not,tje librarian's look scared me."
"What? Are you sure? I didn't see anything like that."She doubtfully said."I think you are tired or something."
"I'm not lying. Ill show you but all we have to do for now is to wait."
"Alright."Lisa said as she had no other choice but to reply.

"Nathan Kiara has grown up to become a young lady."Tyra told him "I fear she may know what we now know "
"She will not."Her husband repliedas he slipped a drink from his cup in the garden of his majestic looking mansion."I blame myself for our daughter's curiosity.I shouldn't have told her those stories. She would not have been this."
"I know Nathan "Tyra worriedly said.
"Kiara knows l these are just stories."
"But...but what if she doesn't think that way?"
"Until all those creatures appear right in front of her, it's all not real"He said and assured his wife about that."She will never k ow. Not when I am alive."
"Then pray to God that He answers your prayers Nathan pr else..."
Without saying much,Tyra excused herself a s headed inside as Nathan sat alone contemplating....
"Hello."A female voice responded."Good day sir. Don't worry if you are looking for your daughter, she's here with me."
"Very well then ...."He sighed." Keep your eyes on her ans make sure she doesn't go beyondy expectations Lisa."

At the library....
"Don't worry sir. I will."And with that,Nathan cut off the call.

"Who are you talking to?"Kiara interrupted as ahe saw Lisa isolated at a distance from her.
"My teacher Kiara. I was talking to my teacher."She turned and replied monitoring Kiara's expression."Je actually gave an assignment and I'm on it."
"Oh I'm sorry. I shouldn't have...."
"It's alright."Lisa cut her off placing her phone in her pocket."I just like privacy that's all. So are we actually waiting till the time you want is to investigate this issue?"
Now, Kiara smiled eagerly."He's. Until evening."
"What? You want your parents dead from suffering from depression after finding out that their girl has not come home after the whole day? Like seriously?"
"No Lisa. They won't complain."Kiara strongly said."Besides I have a plan."
It was obvious. Convincing her to get home was a no."Aye...ya....yae....."She sighed.

As the hours passed,the girls kept themselves busy reading books and having discussions after which they went out to buy some snacks. Afterwards,they came back to the library and continued. In fact, apart from the mission Kiara had in mend,it was the aim of Lisa to make sure that Kiara's safety was at its peak even if she liked it or not.
"They have been here for too long."Tje librarian said inwardly strictly gazing at them."Could they ne up to something?"

Evening.....
The moonlight sky shone luminously as its rays proudly penetrated into the city. There the stars boastfully exposed its radiant beauty whiles the mother of it all added to the beautiful scene of the nightfall this praising the wonders of nature.
"Kiara we should get back home." Lisa pleaded scared for her safety as well as Kiara's."I'm done here and I am taking you home."
With that, she pulled Kiara's hand and started walking down the street as they were outside monitoring all that went on in the library.
"Really Lisa. If you think youcanr stay here then leave."She said looking extremely vexed."I am not forcing you to stay."
Feeling concerned,Lisa added."I am only worried for you. It's late and there are not much people around."
"What..."Kiara felt surprised. Why would Lisa goiles for her? What sort of goodness might she have ever done to her."Thank you."She hugged Lisa and strongly embraced all that represented her."I am never going to have a friend like you."She said and deeply shut her eyes."But I have a dream a d I need a friend...no.....a best friend like you to support me."
As Lisa listened,she felt like the most important person there was or will ever be. Of Kiara nas seen her loyalty,that alone would
be everything to her.
"I am always here for you."
Now they had one aim in mind and they here to accomplish it.

The scary screeching of the door echoed at the library's entrance as they carefully entered and to their surprise,they didn't know why but they realized something different about the library's interior sinced it looked so normal during the day.
They had a weird feeling about that.
It was as though a presence was there.
