Synopsis
Kat grumbled a little before reluctantly quieting down, allowing Lucian speak. He continued, his eyes locking onto hers. "The second thing the mark does is tie your fate to the Kelpie's. I injured it badly. stabbed it in the back and it's neck. If it dies because of those wounds, you will die too." She felt a cold shock wash over her. "What? That's insane! Why would I die if it dies?" "The mark it put on you," Lucian explained, his hands never stopping their motion with the pen. "As the Kelpie suffers, so will you. It's dying now, and if it succumbs to its injuries, you'll follow soon after." "Wow, Katherine, way to go. You really outdid yourself," Kat muttered to herself, taking a deep breath. "Seeing a wet horse despite the dry weather wasn't enough for you to think something was wrong." "You saw it wet?" Lucian asked, his eyebrows frowning slightly. "Huh?... Yeah, is something wrong with that?" Kat asked, wondering why the horse being wet was more important to him at the moment than her dying. Lucian didn't say anything but just stared at the girl in front of him. 'There is something more to her, I just can't tell what it is' he thought. To further confirm his suspicion, he moved closer to Kat, closing the distance between them. He reached for the shoulder of her dress and pulled it down. The sudden action startled Kat. She exclaimed, "What do you think you are doing, pervert? Get away from me!" She tried hitting him, but she barely had the strength to sit up, let alone push him away. Lucain paused, staring at her bare shoulder. Kat followed his gaze and gasped. "What is that?" she asked, her voice trembling. On her shoulder was a strange mark, like a tattoo of a hoof print with foreign writing within it. Lucain hummed thoughtfully, his expression still impassive. 'As I thought, she shouldn't be able to see it, but she can. That's unusual for a human.' Kat frantically tried to wipe the mark off. "Why won't it come off?" "That's the Kelpie's mark," He pointed out, his tone remained indifferent. Panic surged through Kat. She hadn't just narrowly escaped death; it was now chasing her, bound to her by an invisible tether. "Is there any way to break the bond...mark whatever it is? I don't want to die," she asked desperately, her eyes searching Lucian's for any sign of hope. Lucian's expression stayed the same. "I don't intend to let you die so soon," he said. "We can replace the Kelpie's bond with another bond." Kat clung to this glimmer of hope. "How do we do that?" she asked, leaning forward, eager for a solution. "It requires a new bond, a stronger one that can override the Kelpie's," Lucian explained, his demeanor calm and composed. Before she could ask what he meant, Lucian reached out and gently pecked her on the forehead. Kat froze, completely caught off guard by the unexpected action. The brief contact sent a jolt through her, and she barely had time to react before he pulled her into a gentle embrace, careful not to hurt her already pained body. Her mind raced, trying to process the sudden shift from their conversation to this intimate moment. The warmth of his embrace contrasted sharply with the cold fear that had gripped her moments before. She caught the scent of rosewood and felt his firm body against hers, making her heart skip a beat. "What are you doing?" she whispered, her voice shaky. Kat's heart pounded in her chest. She felt Lucian's face bury itself in the crook of her neck, his breath warm against her skin. His grip on her waist tightened slightly. She winced as she felt a sharp pain. Lucian's fangs sank into her neck, causing her to gasp and grip his shoulder, her fingers digging into his shoulder.... **** disclaimer: cover not mine.

-------

The sound of a gunshot shattered the silence of the dark alley.

Before him stood the woman he loved, the expression on her face a mix of fear and shock, a single tear rolling down her cheek as she looked at him. Collapsing into his arms, her once lively body now lay still, a clear bullet wound visible at the back of her head, blood staining the back of her yellow dress. With each passing moment, her body grew colder, blood trickling from the wound.

His world shattered before his eyes, confusion and sorrow clouding his mind as he struggled to understand what had happened. Trembling, he sank to the ground, holding onto her tightly, refusing to let go even as darkness enveloped him. He remained fixated on her, his eyes empty and full of grief.

A figure passed by the man, the sound of heels clicking on the cold ground. She stopped at the entrance of the alley, looking at the scene with a mix of disdain and satisfaction. she clicked her tongue in disgust, she spoke with contempt.

"You should have listened," she said, her voice dripping with anger. "Now, like me, you'll know no peace, your whole world would shatter before you, as you did mine, you would have to live the rest of your life knowing it was all your fault, she died because of you, only if you had let her go and stay with me but you chose this instead."

With a bitter chuckle, she disappeared into the night, leaving him alone with his grief and the lifeless body of his beloved. Oblivious to her departure, he held onto her, his cries echoing through the empty alley.

"Agnes!" he cried, his voice weak. "You can't leave me. You can't!, please wake up I'm here, call out to me "

His desperate pleas echoed in the darkness, a sad song of loss and longing.

"Cut!" The scene ended on the bustling set, the director's voice echoing through the megaphone. The light on set was turned on, the woman, previously motionless, stirred in the man's arms. With a blink, she exclaimed, "Ahhh! Feels so nice to blink again," she exclaimed rubbing her eyes earning laughs from the crew.

The director, Oscar, a tall man in his twenties, approached them, "Kat. You and Alex did a fantastic job," he praised his eyes filled with admiration. "We're going to miss your presence on set."

"Great job, both of you," the director praised, addressing the man and the woman. The woman's name was Katherine, but she was known as Kat.

Katherine was captivating, with vibrant eyes and wavy black hair. Her radiant black skin glowed, highlighting her flawless features - from her cheekbones to her lips, always curved in a smile.

"Of course you will, Oscar," Kat replied with a subtle smirk, making the director chuckle. "The set surely won't be as lively without the black goddess in our midst" remarked the man named Alex.

Their attention shifted when, a voice exclaimed, "I will miss you so much, Kat!" Everyone turned to see a young girl named Amey stepping forward, her solemn expression contrasting with her lively energy. She had brown hair cascaded in gentle waves around her shoulders, and her piercing blue eyes held a depth of emotion.

Amey's urgency was evident as she reached out to embrace Kat tightly, paying no mind to the fake blood on her. her embrace was almost suffocating, causing Kat to yelp and struggle for breath as Amey clung on fiercely, unwilling to let go.

The director and Alex quietly excused themselves from the conversation. Despite the discomfort, Kat couldn't help but smile at the genuine display of affection from Amey.

"This was your last scene in the movie, you'll be leaving the set today," Amey stated, disappointedly, her grip tightening even further, causing Kat to gasp for air. "Amey, too tight, can't breathe!" Kat managed to choke out, feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of the embrace.

Amey, who the same girl who had portrayed the character who shot Agnes in the movie, now exuded warmth and friendliness, a stark contrast to her previous role filled with hate and disgust.

Amey's presence on set was always lively and spirited, her contagious energy lighting up the room.

"I'm leaving the set, Amey, but it's not like I'm leaving the world. We'll still get to see each other," Kat reassured, gently patting Amey's head as she giggled.

"She's right, we'll miss you a lot," Alex chimed in, having returned from his conversation with the director. "How sweet of you to say, Alex, but you don't have to hide behind my words. Why not just say what you mean?" Hanna remarked as she released Kat from her tight embrace, a teasing smile playing on her lips". And what would that be?" Alex inquired, raising an eyebrow. "If you know, you know," Amey replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

Kat could finally catch her breath after being released from Amey's death grip, she let out a sigh of relief. Alex, wanting to avoid further interaction with Amey, turned to Kat. Their relationship had always been like that of cats and dogs, constantly getting on each other's nerves.

However, before Alex could speak, Hanna, Kat's manager, approached them. "Interview in two hours," she announced, handing Kat a cup of coffee. After exchanging friendly greetings, Hanna anticipated Kat's unasked question and replied, "It's a one-hour drive." "Alright," Kat replied with a tired sigh escaping her lips.

"Don't forget to be here for your party tonight. It's going to be awesome. We don't want the main guest to be too tired to attend, so don't overwork yourself, okay?" Amey advised, holding both of Kat's hands in hers.
