Blood drained from Jessica's face as she looked at Avery, and her eyes widened. She thought she covered the bruises with makeup, but it seems Avery caught everything.
"What did you just say?" Jessica asked Avery as she clenched her fist in anger. She stood up from the chair and said, "I hit my face on the wall and you think he treated me harshly? Let's see how things end for you; I will remind you."
"If you have nothing else to say, leave. Don't embarrass yourself, sister," Avery said, rubbing salt on Jessica's wound.
Jessica's eyes were bloodshot but there was nothing she could think of right now.
"Haha. You have got who now, Avery? Then let's see how far you can go by the time I wreck you," Jessica spat out furiously. She walked away toward Logan and sat beside him.
Avery didn't bother to look at her father's side; instead, she searched for either Hazel or Sebastian in the hall but she couldn't catch a whiff of me.
