"She was murdered," the figure replied, pouring alcohol into the glass cup. He took one and gave the other to Sebastian.
He walked and sat on the couch opposite Sebastian, with a glass table separating them.
"Who was murdered? Cut to the chase, Simon," Sebastian stated, his tone becoming uninterested while he left the drink untouched.
The smell of death still lingered in the room, mixed with the scent of lavender.
"The woman you sent to me to question," Simon replied.
Sebastian furrowed his brows in confusion.
"See, Seb, I think this is getting worse, and you will only make things hard for yourself if they find out about your wedding," Simon whispered in a low voice, audible enough for Sebastian to hear.
"I needed to make this wedding happen to divert their attention, Simon. You should know why I'm doing this," Sebastian's words cut through the silent room.
