Chapter 9 - Unescapable Fate

Chris dragged her out of the store, Lily felt her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't know what he was going to do next, and she was terrified.

"Please, let me go," she begged, trying to pull her arm away from his grasp. "I just want to go home."

But Chris just ignored her pleas, continuing to drag her down the street. They were getting further and further from her home, and she felt more and more hopeless.

"Please, just stop," she said, her voice breaking.

Lily felt her blood run cold as she realized what was happening. She was being taken to his house, against her will. She tried to think of a way to escape, but she was too afraid to move. She was trapped, and she didn't know what to do.

As they pulled up to the house, she saw that it was large and imposing, with high walls and security cameras. It looked more like a prison than a home, and she felt a sense of dread wash over her.

But Chris just ignored her, opening the car door and grabbing her arm. He pulled her out of the car and led her to the front door. She tried to resist, but he was too strong.

As they entered the house, Lily's fear grew even stronger. It was dark and imposing, and it didn't feel like a safe place. She tried to stay calm, but it was hard to control her emotions.

"Please, just let me go home," she said again, her voice shaking. "I won't tell anyone what happened."

But Chris just laughed, a cruel laugh that made her skin crawl.

Chris pulled out his phone and showed her a footage of her mother's room and that her mother's room was sorrounded by his guards.

"If you try to act smart, your mother's treatment would stop and you'll refund me the hospital bills "

Lily felt like a prisoner, but she knew she had to play along. If she didn't, she was afraid of what might happen to her mother. So she followed Chris to her room, trying to remain calm and collected.

Once inside the room, she looked around. It was a large, airy space with a comfortable bed and a window overlooking the garden. It felt strangely peaceful, and she found herself starting to relax a little.

He ordered her to wash up and come down for dinner. Lily went to the bathroom, trying to wash away the fear and anxiety she felt. She looked at herself in the mirror, and she saw someone who looked tired and worn out. She had dark circles under her eyes, and her face was pale. She knew she needed to find a way out of this situation, but she didn't know how.

She changed into a clean shirt and jeans, and made her way downstairs. The house was large and quiet, and she felt a sense of dread as she walked to the dining room.

When she entered the dining room, she saw a table set for two, with a candle in the middle and a bottle of wine. There was also a plate of food, and she realized that Chris must have had it prepared for them. She sat down, feeling nervous and unsure of what to expect.

A few moments later, Chris entered the room. He was wearing a suit, and he looked immaculate. He walked over to the table and poured two glasses of wine.

"Please, eat," he said, gesturing to the food.

Lily didn't feel like eating, but she knew she had to. She picked up her fork and took a small bite of the food. It was a delicious-looking pasta dish, but she found it hard to swallow. She put her fork down and took a sip of the wine, which was cool and refreshing.

Chris sat down across from her, and watched her with a thoughtful expression on his face. "You're not enjoying the meal?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lily shook her head. "It's not that," she said. "I'm just not very hungry."

"I understand," he said, a strange look in his eyes. "I can imagine that you're feeling stressed and anxious right now. I just want you to know that you're safe here. I would never harm you or your mother."

His words were meant to be reassuring, but they had the opposite effect. She felt a chill run down her spine, and she wasn't sure if she could believe him.

She took another sip of wine, trying to calm her nerves. "Why are you doing this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

As Chris read the contract, Lily's eyes widened in horror. She had forgotten just how detailed and specific the contract was. It covered everything from how they would behave in public to what they would say to each other in private. It was like a script for a movie, and she was expected to play her part perfectly.

She felt sick to her stomach. This was not what she had signed up for. This was not what she had agreed to. She had thought that this would be a simple arrangement, but now she realized that she was in way over her head.

"In this contract, the two parties agree to enter into a marriage for a predetermined period of time. During this time, they will live together and participate in social events as a couple, but they will not engage in any romantic or intimate activities. After the agreed-upon time period has ended, the marriage will be dissolved, and the parties will go their separate ways....."

"There will be certain rules that both parties must adhere to during the marriage. For example, the parties must always be respectful and courteous to each other in public. They must also present a united front and act like a happy and loving couple. In private, they are free to interact however they choose, as long as they are not physically or emotionally abusive to each other....."
