Anna looked up at Chen Xiao before nodding, "Yes, they are sir".
" It is settled then, give this fine gentleman behind me your parents' details after dinner, alright?" Chen Xiao instructed.
Annabelle's eyes watered before she knew it, she rose from her seat and bowed before Chen Xiao and the Old madam Chen, "Thank you, Old madam Chen, Thank you, Mr. Chen", she bowed with sincere appreciation, but Delilah pulled her down on her seat as she kept bowing.
" Delilah told me you are very brilliant with your studies, and you are quite intelligent?", Old madam Chen asked.
Anna smiled shyly before nodding, "I… I am only doing my best ma'am" She responded humbly.
"Hm…. She's very brilliant, she's one of the top students in the school", Delilah spoke for the first time since the conversation began after she dropped the cup of water she'd just drank from.
"Oh really?" Old madam Chen was astonished, she turned to the young lady," Is that true?", she asked.
Anna's face reddened, "I… I am just doing my best ma'am" she repeated more humbly this time.
Chen Xiao nodded, it was worth helping her parents then.
The dinner was lively, well, thanks to Delilah who kept cracking jokes.
After dinner, Chen Xiao made Anna give Mr. Tang Yu her parents details and bank account number. When they were done with it, Delilah led Anna back to her room, only this time with a little furry companion.
The trio arrived at Delilah's room, the girls gave Rigby a nice bath, Delilah told Anna the story of how she met Rigby and what she did to make her father keep him.
When they were done, they brushed the dogs fur, it was fortunate her father didn't forget to bring Rigby's luggage. Finally, they were done grooming the dog.
The girls sat on the blanket Delilah had laid on the floor and each sat on a pillow with their legs folded facing one another and there was a little table between them.
Annabelle tutored Delilah on the subject she was most lacking, mathematics. Surprisingly, Delilah was a fast learner, she learned the topics with ease.
After solving about seventy questions, Delilah went limp, and her head crashed on the table.
" Anna I'm tired…." She mumbled.
" Come on Delilah, two more questions please, just two more questions, I know you can do it…", Anna encouraged.
Delilah raised her head and gave Anna a little glare before her eyes settled on the questions before her. She was taken back a bit, these questions looked tough, and they definitely are not of their grade.
She looked at Anna who feigned innocence," What grade questions are these?" she asked with an incredulous glare in her eyes.
"Uhm… grade twelve", Anna rubbed her nose.
"What!" the drowsy girl jolted.
" Come on… it's nothing, I know you are very much capable", Anna winked at her.
Delilah puffed her cheeks, she picked the pencil, scrabbled something before the equations in the sheet and passed the book to Anna.
Anna received the book with a confused expression, just what exactly did she write in the book. Anna took a long look at what Delilah wrote, and her jaw dropped, her gaze never left the book.
" Damn! Delilah you…." Anna couldn't find the right words to say.
