It felt so awkward. Looking at Aiden up closely was nerve-wracking as my feelings poured forth like a raging storm. He stood there in awkwardness, not knowing how to respond.
"Hmm, I am sorry, but I don't feel the same way," Aiden said, scratching his head.
Jessica felt shattered, but what did she expect; not every guy you like feels the same.
"What are you sorry for; it's part of growing up," Jessica said with a smile.
"I didn't expect you to take it so well," Aiden said, still feeling awkward.
"Apart from the pain in my heart, I am alright," Jessica said, laughing it up.
"I got to go," Aiden said, waving before running off.
After a minute, Josh came looking for her.
"let's go home," Josh said.
"I got lost in there for a minute," Jessica said, standing up.
"Is this about Aiden?" Josh asked.
"News does travel fast," Jesica said, kicking stones.
"Hey, is that why you are down?" Josh frowned.
"Do you expect me to get over it?" Jessica asked.
"That's not what I am trying to say," Josh said.
"Now that you know about him, tell me about her." Jessica smiled.
"I didn't hear it from you," Josh said.
"Hey, don't be a brat," Jessica said.
"Who is the brat?" Josh asked.
And that is how Jessica came to push that episode out of her mind. The next day was the beginning of the weekend, which meant she and Josh got to spend time together.
Saturday afternoon, around two pm, Jessica left for Josh's place.
They played around for a bit before getting into a serious discussion.
"So, he was the guy you daydream about?" Josh asked.
"Pretty much, yeah," Jessica said.
"That sounds crazy," Josh said.
"Just like Emily," Jessica said, throwing a pillow at him.
"Nothing is going on between us, "Josh said, looking at me like a madman.
"I never said there was anything between you two," Jessica smirked.
"Middle finger," Josh said, getting up.
