After getting a closer look at the battle's aftermath, seeing Kief's and Fez's contorted bodies on the floor and the damage Avery had done to them, Centshuu, masked with a confused expression, faced Avery.
He asked "Even though I watched the craziness take place in person, I'm still having issues believing what my eyes saw. Pug— I mean Avery, you really did this to these two grown-ass men?" Centshuu asked.
Avery took in a deep breath and then sighed to regain composure.
"Yes I did, but I had no other choice. I tried to handle things as peacefully as I possibly could. I wanted a violence-free resolution but these guys just didn't want to comply. Even though there was a communication barrier between us, that still didn't warrant things getting to this stage" Avery said disappointedly.
Centshuu, who with his vast people's skill, could see that the young man in front of him was being honest about what he just said, groaned.
He took another look at Kief and Fez, both of whom couldn't even stand up and he shook his head in disappointment.
He looked at Mikie and Graham, both of whom were also on the floor and were groaning in pain then he stared at Kove who seemed more beat up than Avery and he found that surprising because in comparison he did less fighting.
Just then, Mosey jumped over the counter and started arranging his clothes which drew Centshuu's attention and he saw that the burly man looked just as beat up as Kove.
Centshuu also noticed that his two squad mates were slightly out of breath and the stark contrast with Avery's lack of damage and calmness made him stand out even more to Centshuu.
Centshuu looked at Avery once more and asked "Avery, I know I've asked this question before and you weren't able to give me any answers, but I just can't help asking again. Who are you and how did you learn to fight like that?"
Avery lowered his head, sighed then looked at Centshuu and said, "I wish I could answer that, I really do because I too want to know the answer to such an important question, but, like I told you when you guys found me, my memories are very hazy."
Seeing how genuine Avery seemed about not remembering much— if anything— about his past that would help him answer the question just asked, Centshuu smiled and placed his hand on Avery's head.
He ruffled Avery's hair a bit, chuckled to cheer him up, and said "Don't worry about it too much. I'm sure that with time the memories will all come rushing back to you and I can wait until then to get my answers. This sight just makes me glad we didn't mess with you back at the forest or else Mosey would have found out the wrong way that you're not as defenseless as you seemed"
Hearing his name being brought up in the conversation, Mosey who just like Kove had walked up and joined the other members of the squad frowned and asked "I would have learned what the wrong way? Why me specifically, Cent?"
Centshuu looked at him, grinned, and replied "Maybe because you've self-assigned yourself as my knight in rusty armor."
Mosey crossed his arms and said, "First of all, I never said that, and second of all, so?"
"Well, so far, Avery has shown all of us that he's a very smart kid, and assessing that I'm the leader of the group, he would have gone after me first if our meeting at the eclipsing forest went the wrong way. Being who you are, you would have stepped in to protect me and that's how you would have learned the wrong way that he isn't as defenseless as he seemed at the time. Isn't that right, Avery?"
Centshuu, Mosey, Ripply, Kove, and Shieve all looked at Avery and in response, Avery shrugged.
"I don't know. Maybe"
Centshuu chuckled and then he looked at Mosey.
"See. You would have been put down, just like those two over there. Maybe, your case wouldn't have been as fast, but still, I reckon that the outcome would have been no different" he said, pointing at Kief and Fez.
After staring at Kief and Fez for a few seconds, Mosey looked at Avery, scoffed, and then looked at Centshuu.
"Don't compare me with those idiots. It's hella disrespectful. The pug is strong and all but I'm sure I can hold my own against him. Besides, nothing the pug can do will be able to compete against my grown man strength" Mosey said as he walked to Centshuu's side but stopped in front of Avery and gave him a threatening side-eye.
"Don't let what Centshuu just said get to your head. You're still a snotty nose pug at the end of the day so don't think you can start acting out of line, got it?" Mosey said.
After staring at Mosey for a short second and seeing how serious the burly man was, Avery nodded.
"Got it" Avery replied dejectedly.
Mosey looked at him from head to toe, retorted "Good" then walked over to Centshuu and stood beside him like Kove.
"Now what, Centshuu? I knew it was bad when that service girl came to get us but seeing everything for myself, I can only say that this is a big mess our group has gotten into" said Ripply who was standing behind Centshuu.
Centshuu smirked, maintaining composure as he looked at Vox and then said "You're right, Ripply. It really is a huge mess. Our friends did go against the no violence rules and there are consequences for that, but before we focus on that, Mister Big Bad over there is going to let go of the knife he was trying to pull out when we interrupted the tussle."
