To survive in this world, one must fight for his life. This is a world that is filled with chaos. Countless people die every day and the numbers of these deaths just keep climbing. Be it by war, or be it by diseases; people kept on dying. The governmental sector was already in ruins and there was no one to take charge. Without a leader, even the greatest army would fall.
Â
Ryan Bonnier was a military officer in a special squad called the anti-bombers. Basically, their job was to defuse bombs the deployed soldiers were to encounter. It was a risky task because cutting off the wrong wire meant certain death. But the anti-bombers of the special squad had been thoroughly trained and so, they were skillful in performing their tasks.
Â
Today, a group of soldiers set out on a mission to rescue an important government official who had been captured by the enemy soldiers. The group consisted of two squads; the anti-bombers and the elite forces. The Elite forces is comprised of skilled military officers who had mastered the way of the gun. Moving along the way, they encountered a heavy resistance from the enemy but this did not hinder them one bit.Â
Â
"Fire!" The leader of the elite forces ordered and the rest obeyed, continuously pouring bullets on their enemies as they tried their best to dodge the enemy's fire.Â
Â
Ryan revealed a grenade, then he pulled the pin and threw the grenade at his enemies. The grenade landed in the midst of the resistance, exploding and exterminating them instantly. The captain of the Elite forces complemented Ryan's precision in handling the grenade.
Â
"Nice one Ryan! If not for you, we might have sustained some casualties," He smiled.
Â
"No problem. I still have more where that came from," Ryan replied with a grin.
Â
"Yeah, sure. But be careful, do you know what happened last time you over-messed with the grenades? You almost caused your own death! Truth to be told, it was the mercy of God that kept you alive; everyone thought you'd die." The captain pulled up a worried face.
Â
Ryan beat his chest proudly, "Don't worry, I'm Ryan – the greatest anti-bomber to ever live, I won't be killed so easily by a grenade."Â
Â
"Hopefully…" A female soldier answered. She was a part of Ryan's squad.
Â
"Katelyn, you underestimate me?" Ryan sarcastically frowned upon her statement. "Fine then, I'll prove it to you that no bomb can kill me."
Â
Katelyn shook her head, "No need to prove anything. You'll get yourself killed."
Â
"Alright, that's enough. Governor Marsala might have already been killed by the resistance. If he's still alive; the sooner we get there, the better! Let's go!" The captain and the rest of the soldiers dashed forward into enemy zone.
The resistance only got stronger and stronger, but Ryan and his comrades weren't backing down one bit. Their unfathomable coordination made them formidable on the battlegrounds. With every dying wave of the enemy, they got closer to their target.
Â
"We are almost there!" Ryan shouted as he unpinned several grenades like a lunatic.
Â
"What the hell are you doing?" The Captain of the elite forces asked as he and his teammates moved away from Ryan and his squad.
Â
"I'm saving the governor!" Ryan tossed all the grenades at the approaching enemies and it exploded, killing almost all of them. "Quick! Go and rescue the governor!"
Â
The Elite forces charged into the enemy's fortress and successful subdued the surviving resistance. They moved promptly and so; they got the governor out in no time. Just as they were about to leave, their eyes fell on a very dangerous presence that could render everything to ashes in a blink of an eye.
Â
"Ryan! You need to check this out!" One of the Elite forces members called out to Ryan who guarded the entrance of the fortress along with his squad.
Â
Ryan turned to face his squad, "You guys stay here and guard the entrance while I handle the problem."
Â
His squad nodded as they watched him leave. Ryan headed into the building and spotted a ticking device whose timer played a song of doom and certain destruction! He was shocked to know that the enemy would place a nuke inside their own fortress. This meant that they knew they would lose against the Special Forces and so; they planted a bomb in their own fortress.
Â
"Can you stop it?"Â
Â
"I can try, but Dean, you'll have to get everyone out of here as fast as you can." Ryan grinned as he approached the bomb with his toolbox.
Â
"What are you going to do?" Dean; the Captain of the Elite Forces, asked.
Â
"I'm going to cut any wire that I feel is the right one," Ryan revealed a larger smile. "This should be interesting."
Â
"I thought you knew how to defuse nukes!" Dean barked at Ryan.
Â
"Yes, I know how to handle nukes, but not this one. It's a little more complicated than what I know." Ryan used his screwdriver and opened up the panel. He spotted several wires inside and smiled even more.
Â
Dean sighed when he saw the smile on Ryan's face, "Please tell me you can stop it?"
Â
"The longer you're here, the more you endanger everyone! Quick! Leave!" Ryan scowled at Dean.
Dean nodded, "Alright guys, it's time we leave."Â
Â
Dean and his teammates left the building as the governor followed them. The other anti-bombers were worried when they noticed Ryan wasn't among them. Katelyn asked, "Where is our captain?"
Â
"He decided stay inside the building to defuse the nuke! We have to leave now! We will certainly die if that thing goes off!" Dean shouted at Katelyn.
Â
"What do you mean by that? Can't he defuse the bomb?" Tears filled her eyes.
Â
Dean used his gun to hit her neck, knocking her out. The others were shocked by his actions but they understood why he did it. "Quick! Someone grab her! We need to leave now!"
Â
A fellow soldier passed his gun to another and then, he placed Katelyn on his back. The group of soldiers ran out of the enemy fortress. Dean picked up his radio and sent a message to the air force, revealing their location to them. The Air Force responded quickly by sending a plane to the given location.
Â
Ryan didn't know which wire was the right one to cut. The previous bombs he had dealt with only had two wires; the red and the yellow. But this bomb had every color he could ever think of; black, red, green, white, brown, pink, yellow, gold, grey, purple, indigo etc.
Â
"Red signifies danger so I think I'll cut off the red wire! But what if it's the wrong wire?" Ryan rubbed his chin as he glanced at the timer – he had less than five minutes to defuse the bomb. "But still, I'm cutting it."
Ryan cut the red wire and immediately he did that, the timer hit zero, "Oh shit! Wrong Wire!"
Â
BOOM!
