"Uhm, nothing." Hayden instantly came back to his senses when he heard her question. He was looking at her pouted lips, which looked too inviting. A sudden urge grew. He wanted to kiss those lips. But how could he do it without startling her? His mind and heart were having a battle as to whether he should kiss her or not. That was how he found himself staring at her in a daze.
"Your turn." After moving a piece, Hayden smiled at Ayla and said. He wanted to dispell the awkwardness that was hovering in the air.
"Oh." She nodded and placed her piece too.
The two played until midnight before stopping.
"Let's stop here. It's getting late." Hayden raised his wrist and looked at his watch before saying. The two of them had to go to school, and it would be bad if they arrived late for classes and lessons the following day.
"Sure." Ayla yawned sleepily before answering.
She had been too engrossed in the game to notice how late it had become.
