*Chapter 24: Background Check*
Hayden watched as she frowned in his arms and held his breath. Did he hurt her in the process of carrying her? He stood immobile and watched the expression on her face. It was only until she stopped furrowing her brows and nuzzled in his arms that he breathed out a sigh of relief. He looked at how cute she was curled up in his arms, and his lips couldn't help but curve upwards. He slowly ascended the stairs to her room.
The housekeeper hid behind the kitchen door and watched everything that was happening in the living room. She was happy to see how gentle Hayden was treating Ayla. At first, when she saw Hayden's mother, she was scared that something bad would happen to Ayla. Fortunately, Hayden took care of it . He protected her. The housekeeper was glad that her boss was finally changing. He was always cold and aloof to the world. However, seeing how gentle and warm he was while handling Ayla, she could rest assured.
