Chapter 21 - Geniuses Are All Stepping Stones [Part 2]

Waking up after an hour of sleeping, Adrian rubbed his eyes before groggily opening them. He sat up and kept on rubbing his eyes before letting out a yawn that got rid of the sleepiness left in him.

Adrian relished the pleasant feeling from his nap as he stretched his body —having his joints make a few popping sounds. Unceremoniously standing up from where he lay, Adrian patted his hair for about five seconds before walking out of his room and towards the Living room.

Not taking too long to enter the Living room, Adrian had a smile as he said. "Good morning Aunt."

"Good morning to you too Adrian." A smile found its way to Liz's lips as she stared at Adrian who looked at her with squinted eyes.

"Your food is on the dining table," Liz said after seeing signs that Adrian had bathed. And even if she hadn't seen any signs, Liz knew that Adrian wouldn't dare come down for breakfast without freshening up as he knew the result.

"Thanks, Aunt." He smiled trying to hide the few drops of sweat on his forehead. Anytime he remembered what happened to him on the third day he tried eating without bathing, a shiver would run down his spine and fear would grip his heart.

'The women of Arcania are a terrifying bunch.' Adrian thought gladdened that Liz didn't ask whether he had freshened up or not. Cause if she had, if he were unable to prove it to her things would have taken a very drastic turn.

Throwing those memories to the back of his mind, Adrian let out a dry chuckle as he pulled out a chair.

He gazed at the food before him for some time before finally digging in. Eating at a moderate pace this time, unlike yesterday when he ate like a starved soldier who had spent a little too much time on the front lines.

As he was peacefully enjoying the delicious meal before him, Adrian who was focusing on his every bite was forced to look up after feeling someone was staring at him.

"Cough... Cough..."

Stunned by the beauty in front of him, Adrian stared at her magnificent form while choking on his food. His eyes were reddened as a few tear drops streaked down but he didn't seem to care as only her beauty mattered.

Time seemed to slow down as he stared at her damp blue hair that clung close to her smooth pale white skin. Her red eyes seemed to glow in an enchanting light the more he stared into them seeming as if they wanted to pull his soul out of his body. And the lower he went, his eyes were greeted by his breakfast.

Forcibly turning his head away from Rebecca's figure and intently staring at his breakfast like he wanted to discern the Universe's secrets from it, Adrian sighed in his heart as he took another bite. 'That was too close.'

Although he enjoyed the view, Adrian didn't want to draw suspicion to himself by staring at Rebecca's chest. Yes it was nice and it would be pleasurable to stare at it but if he was caught looking at her lustfully, Adrian knew that Liz would beat the shit out of him since it was weird for a four-year-old to stare at a woman lustfully.

Quickly finishing his breakfast lest he get tempted by the charm of the beauty who took her seat close to him, Adrian's attention almost got stolen by her as he got a whiff of her fragrance.

'Crap! I better keep my distance away from her.' Adrian quickly stood up from where he sat trying his best to distance himself from Rebecca. This was the second time he had smelt the fragrance of a lady who just bathed in both his lives —Liz excluded— and honestly, it was amazing.

"Good morning," Adrian said hurriedly going to keep his plate in the sink. He felt that if he spent a second beside her he may get charmed by her beauty.

Walking past her and towards the Living room, Adrian made sure not to give her a chance to respond as her voice could also end up charming him.

Rebecca stared at four year old —who went to sit beside Liz— for some time before she began eating. Although how he behaved was weird, she just brushed it off as one of his childish habits.

Almost sinking into his seat after he successfully escaped from Rebecca, Adrian heaved a sigh of relief as he wiped the non-existent sweat off his brows.

You may think that he was overreacting towards how she looked but Adrian who was a virgin in his past life and was never able to make it to first base felt that he may lose his cool and break his act (that was already crumbling without his knowledge) if he was beside her. He had honestly lived a miserable life to get aroused by her seductive look.

Taking in deep breaths to regulate his breathing, Adrian's heart thumped wildly in his chest as he made an oath never to be home alone with Rebecca.

After a few minutes had gone by and he had gotten a hold of his emotions, Adrian sat upright before asking. "When is it starting Aunt?"

"When it's high noon." Briefly replying to Adrian's question, Liz never removed her eyes from the book she held.

Adrian sunk back into the couch after hearing Liz's reply. His face had a little frown as he thought of a way to pass the time.

Unconsciously remembering some of the rhymes he taught the younger kids back at the orphanage, a smile spread across his face after he realized it was a good way to pass the time while enjoying the few happy memories from his past laugh.

As he took in a deep breath, Adrian closed his eyes before he began singing in his mind. 'Red sheep, blue sheep, everybody sheep. Me sheep, you sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep...'

Enjoying the feeling that spread through his body, Adrian kept his eyes closed shut as he kept on singing. Even though it was impossible to spend more than two hours singing, Adrian did it for as long as he could because of the happiness he felt.
